Krosmoz fans everywhere! For the first time, Ankama is going beyond international borders and uniting its entire worldwide community in an amazing celebration of cosplay!

Different locations and time zones that span the entire globe can sometimes give our players the feeling that they're disconnected from one another. That's why, for this year's Japan Expo convention, we've decided to set up a virtual stage for you, our cosmopolitan cosplay community!

Wherever you may be, you'll have a chance to shine – and enjoy the feeling of being an essential part of the ANK'osplay contest, which will be taking place entirely online!

Longtime convention-goers and beginners alike are invited to reveal your tailoring superpowers and bring your favorite Krosmoz characters to life, alongside your fellow costume designers, DIY crusaders, and wizards of needle and thread.

And don't be shy about playing as one of the new WAVEN characters!

Imagine how amazing a Piven Bow, Bovalor Orok, Amurai Blade or even a Tako Synchronizater could look in cosplay form! Use your imagination and reveal your full potential!

Contest Overview

We invite everyone to participate in this incredible celebration of creativity, open to all levels and all types of costumes.

Categories

Entries in this virtual cosplay contest will be divided into three categories:

• Krosmoz: video games from DOFUS to WAVEN, as well as mangas and animated series – as long as it's from the universe that's home to the wonderful World of Twelve!
• Low Budget: Same thing, but using bits of cardboard and string and a whole lot of imagination…
• Krosmoz Pets: Your pets deserve a chance for some fun too! Dress them up as creatures from the Krosmoz and share the results with us!

 

How to Enter

From June 29, 2023, to August 14, 2023, go to this page to submit the following elements (making sure to submit all the ones marked "Required"):

• (Required) Two good quality photos of yourself wearing the costume (front and back): these will be used in the contest showcase and in photo galleries.
• (Required) Two photos of costume details.
• (Required) A reference image of the character or creature that inspired your costume.
• (Required) A short, light video in portrait orientation (45 sec. max), introducing yourself and your costume.
• (Optional) A video of the costume being worn (30 sec. to 1 min.) which can be used in the contest showcase. This video must be of good quality, in landscape orientation and filmed in a well-lit setting with a neutral background (a white wall would be ideal!).
• (Required if you are a minor) Written and signed authorization from a parent or legal guardian, confirming that they have read and accepted the rules.

The company ANKAMA GAMES, located at 75 Boulevard d'Armentières, 59100 Roubaix – France, registered with the Lille Metropolitan Area Companies and Commerce Register under the number 492 360 730, is organizing, from June 29, 2023, to August 14, 2023, a cosplay contest entitled "ANK'OSPLAY 2023", based on the theme of characters from the ANKAMA universe, and open to all private individuals who are at least 13 years of age. Make your own disguise and send us your entry using the link in the news article. A shortlist of entries will be drawn up by a jury within a few days of the contest ending. A poll will then be put out to the community to select three winners from the entries shortlisted by the jury in each category (three categories of entries). Value of 1st prize (for each of the three categories): €281.85. Vote

All cosplayers will first be evaluated by Ankama to ensure compliance with the contest rules. The Ankama team will select the best 10 entries in each category before submitting them to the community, who will then vote to choose the prize winners.

FAQ

Can I enter the ANK'osplay contest with a pre-existing cosplay?

You can use an existing cosplay only if you have made major changes to it, and can explain those changes. Otherwise, your costume could be disqualified.

Can I enter the contest in multiple categories?

No, you can only participate in the ANK'osplay contest in a single category. If you sign up for the "Krosmoz Pets" category, for example, you cannot sign up for the "Krosmoz" category as well.

What's a "Low Budget" cosplay?

As the name implies, this type of cosplay is made on a very limited budget. It requires great creativity to make the most of a minimal cash investment, with a result that's still close to the original image or scene. Creating this kind of cosplay is an excellent exercise that forces you to use only the materials that are readily available to you: commonplace items, home decor items, food, etc. Creativity is the key in this category, so think outside the box and give it your all!

What are the rules?

All ANK'osplay contest participants must comply with the contest rules, which you can find here.

What parts of my costume do I have to make myself?

Three-quarters of your cosplay must be the result of your own work. However, you can include basic clothes underneath a piece of armor, for example, as well as shoes or wigs. Alterations to existing pieces are accepted (going beyond aesthetic aging), but you must be able to explain in detail the process and techniques you used to make each part of your costume.

I'm not in Europe. Can I take part in the online contest?

Of course you can! All of the prizes are virtual, and the rules are designed to let cosplayers from all over the world participate in the contest.

I want to cosplay as an original character. Can I?

Your cosplay must represent a recognizable character or element from the Krosmoz universe. This includes NPCs, monsters, characters from movies and animated series, etc., as long as they're part of the wonderful World of Twelve. You will be asked to provide a reference image when you register.

Do I have to provide videos of my cosplay, or are photos enough?

To enter, you must provide photos of the costume from the front and back, close-up photos of details of the costume, and at least one video of you wearing the costume.

Are group cosplays allowed? (2 people or more)

Sorry, everyone. Group costumes are not accepted for this contest. But feel free to share your videos and photos of you together with other cosplayers, and we'll gladly share them with the community. We'd love to see how you bring the Krosmoz to life!

Will there be a screening stage to allow entries into the contest?

The competition is open to everyone, but an Ankama jury will cast an initial vote to select 10 finalists. Then the community will vote at the end to determine the winners.

Can non-adult Krosmoz fans and players enter the contest?

Yes, but your registration will need to include written and signed authorization from a parent or legal guardian, confirming that they have read and accepted the rules.
