Forum Rules

When you sign up for WAKFU, you agree to follow certain rules. These rules exist to maintain a friendly atmosphere and ensure that all players are comfortable in the game. Players should know that if they choose to disobey these rules, they may be sanctioned.

Here is an overview.

Forum Rules of Good Conduct

Access to and participation in the WAKFU forums is a privilege that we provide for community members. We ask you to follow some rules to make sure the forums are enjoyable for everyone. Anyone who does not follow these rules should be aware that they may be sanctioned. Sanctions include being banned from the forums temporarily or permanently, and even permanently closing your player account.

The right to post in the forum is reserved for registered WAKFU players. However, forum posts can be read by everyone. Consequently, Ankama Games wants its forums to be free of all illegal, threatening, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, racist, or objectionable content of any kind.

To this end, Ankama reserves the right to delete, move, or modify any content published on its forums, as well as to block or limit access to its forums without warning or explanation.

Below, you will find a non-exhaustive list of rules that must be followed.

Before posting:

  • Do a search to check if a discussion on the same subject already exists, or if the information you are looking for exists elsewhere.
  • Please also familiarize yourself with the specific rules for the sub-forum in which you are posting.

When you post, you must:

  • Respect other players, moderators, and Ankama staff.
  • Pay attention to spelling when posting and do not use text-speak.
  • Do not spam or flood the forum with off-topic comments.
  • Elaborate in your posts; the forum is not a chat room.
  • Be polite and courteous.
  • Post in English.
  • Use the correct forum sections.
  • Do not post in old topic threads just to bump them back to the top. This practice is called bumping, necroposting, or reviving posts. Important: Replies that move posts back to the top in a constructive manner are not considered necroposting, especially when done after a search and to avoid duplicate posts.

Regarding authorized links:

Only sites that follow the fan site/guild forum rules and advertising rules are allowed to post their links on the forum.

It is forbidden to:

  • Spam or flood the forum with off-topic comments. Practices such as "bumping" or "necroposting" are considered to be flooding.
  • Use text speak (abbreviations are allowed within reason).
  • Promote illegal or pornographic content.
  • Promote commercial sites.
  • Refer to a forum user's private life (including staff members) without their consent, or to cause harm.
  • Attempt in some way to damage the forum's integrity.
  • Use the forums to denounce or report conduct that does not follow game or forum rules, mentioning a specific player's personal information such as an account username or character name. Always notify the team directly through Ankabox whenever possible.
  • Except in special circumstances (such as an event in agreement with CCMs), it is forbidden to incite the community to unsporting actions, attack other players, or lead a manhunt against players, characters or guilds whose names you have given for this purpose.
  • Divulge information whose content has been deemed private by Ankama staff.
  • Send excessive private messages to players or admins that exceed allowed limits.
  • Answer posts with an account other than your primary account if the primary account has been sanctioned and is not allowed to post. Using a secondary account when your main account has been sanctioned or banned qualifies as bypassing a sanction and may result in a definitive ban from our forums.
  • Put an image signature at the end of your messages.
  • Conduct surveys or petitions that are not approved by Ankama.

Forum Rules of Good Conduct

Some sub-forums are governed by rules which are slightly different from the rules for other sections of the forum. Although the basic rules stay the same, some rules may be different, or there may be extra rules depending on the sub-forum in question.

Economy & Professions

Buying and selling items is forbidden in the forums.

Guilds

You may create only one post per guild in which you can present your guild and discuss any other topics that concern the guild. All duplicates will be deleted without notice. This presentation must be polished, developed, and cannot be a simple call for recruitment.

Politics Section

If you're looking for a guild and you want to announce this on the forum, we've created a special topic for this purpose. Any posts from players looking for a guild will be considered duplicates and deleted without warning.

This section is not intended for complaints and events of all kinds. Only programs and events related to politics, alliances and wars may be discussed. Any posts that break this rule will be deleted without warning.

Stories and Roleplaying

This section is intended solely for roleplay and character backgrounds. Any posts that break this rule will be deleted without warning.

You may report any posts or replies that violate the rules directly in the forum by clicking on the "Report" link that appears on every post and reply. This feature exists to facilitate moderation and should not be used if the message follows the rules. Any abuse of the reporting feature may be punished with a warning.

We ask that you do not respond to people who do not follow the forum rules so that you do not fuel inappropriate discussions. Similarly, we ask you not to engage in pseudo moderation. If there is a problem, we ask that you report the post or reply, and if necessary contact a moderator or administrator in order to notify them of the problem. Indeed, attempting to reason with the rule breaker actually encourage them further.

Here are some rules and tips for reporting posts and replies.

You may

  • Report a duplicate post or message by linking to the original post.
  • Report a single infraction by linking to several infractions by the same person.
  • Report a post to request that it be closed.
  • Report one or more broken links in single posts to us.

Please do not:

  • Report any posts or messages from flooders. Indeed, if you notify us that someone is flooding the forum and provide a few links in the report, we can intervene on all posts or messages by the reported person.
  • Report a post or message because the reported person was insulting or acted inappropriately outside of the forum (for example, via PM or in-game).
  • Report a post or message because it contradicts your opinion.
  • Report to ask our opinion in a debate.
  • Report to let us know about a grammatical error we may have made when we wrote on the forum. Contact us through Ankabox.
  • Report non-stop to get noticed by the moderation team.
  • Report and notify the reported person that he or she has been... reported.
