Abusing resolution to camp extract points

By aleeeeeeee#9989 - MEMBER - July 19, 2023, 22:25:00
Hi, will Ankama ever address this issue?

I'm tired of using pact and getting attacked from someone 3 screens away from me, it was the reason I quit 6 months ago, and it's still happening. I raised a support ticket but I think they didn't speak english because I got a nonsense response.

Never get tired of people who identified that Pact is ruining their game experience and then continue to use Pact.

I mean it's not abusing it though.  They have a better machine/equipment and can have a higher resolution.  It's not like they're cheating as it's literally built in the game.  Is it unfair?  To some degree.  Does it suck?  Hard bet it does.  But thems the breaks unfortunately.

you can still abuse something if its built into the game, example of something that has happened: just cus a boss stops responding when you put him on a specific tile doesn't mean it was intended design.

It's unfair in the sense not everyone has a multi screen or wide set up. theres no way for most people to even see an attack coming.
try thinking about it if it was another game but still pvp based to match the situation: would you buy a new set up just so you could compete at the highest level in a pvp game?

Its more of an oversight due to the game's design, but it's not something that can be easily fixed. Wakfu woes.

I think that's something devs can't fix unless they add some restrictions to the game's resolution, like a limit, which maybe would lead to a bad gameplay experience for the wide-screen/dual monitor players which wouldn't be fair for them, let alone be punished for playing Wakfu on a larger screen. It's not worth it in my opinion, the amount of players who do this aren't that many (because of how expensive some monitors can be).

Something that could be done to kinda fix this "issue" is maaaaybe limit the Render Distance (?). You know, if you are too far from a point you won't be able to see what's there until you get closer, like in Minecraft. Maybe allow to see ressources, monsters, interactable objects but not other players. But even so I think it wouldn't be worth the hassle just for a system that not many use, I wouldn't like that to be honest, you are better off requesting help from other players or building your own team of 6 to protect your loot.

Uhh, they could very easily set the maximum fight start range to say, 12 tiles, and then just like how you can interact with resources from further than max collection range (which is adjacent) and then start moving toward them, it would move your character toward the other character you want to fight, but not start the fight until you're in range.

Thus removing the advantage of having an ultrawide screen monitor just to aggro people from absurd distances.

I'm actually curious as to why this isn't a thing already pensive seems like an easy and fair solution.

adding to the discussion of possible solutions, in my opinion the cleanest one would be to let players with pvp on, zoom out further. Or something along those lines
