Ankama Trackers

Just came back from a long hiatus...

By Ounce#5492 - MEMBER - February 12, 2022, 15:11:36
All my characters were reset stat wise and appearance because of the server merge. I remember absolutely nothing haha so I will be updating this in hopes to get my characters back to what they were. I have a few questions maybe you guys can help with now:

1. Something happened to rune'd gear. It all has question marks on them an ask me to reset them or something. Is all the hard work I put into runeing my gear gone or what?

2. Is there still a training room where you can test builds and stats without committing the changes? And if so how do it get there?

1. Yep, it's almost gone, sadly
2. Yes and no, a training ground exists (the Kanonjedo on Astrub) but no free reset, either you buy "premium" to get that until your pack last or your do a "Restate of Emergency" quest (basically get x50 stacks of some mob resources for a reset)

50x stacks of some mob resource is far from correct. I bet its only 50x when you do it first time at lower level, but it is usually 150x multiple types of resources but luckily the resources are easily available and can be farmed even with lower lvl characters.

Firstly thank you for responding lol. I wasn't sure if I was going to get one at this point. It seems like the new rune system allows for higher stat gain but It's still very new to me.

I'd forgotten about the restate of emergency quest so that is great that I have that option if I fumble my stats too hard as I try to get back to what I was.

One more question if you would. Is it no longer possible to lower your nation wings? I could not figure it out while I was playing and figured they are just out for everyone now.

do not identify daggers or shields if you have runes on them. the new system doesn't allow those items to get runes anymore so old runes on those items are quite valuable. also don't destroy old items. some might be rare and valuable

1) they aren't gone per say. the old runes are still there, however if you chose to identify them then you'll change them into the new enchantment mechanic, thus returning your powder(now shards) to you and rolling the item to have 1-4 rune slots. (different shape and color)

2) as rasmez said

I already did lol mellow Imagine my surprise when there were no rune slots on it ... Lame ankama. Oh well, Is there a way to change how many and what kind of rune types are on certain gear? I've noticed some having extra slots on the same gear it seems to be the case.

It isn't too hard. I'll explain it with an example.

Let's say you just dropped a mytical Gobball Helmet:
  1. You need to identify the item. This will reveal a set of Sockets (which can range from 1 - 4) with a random color and order.
  2. If you get a bad roll (like, 1 socket or bad colors) you can always re-roll your item at an Enchantment Machine which can be found at any nation.
  3. To increase the number/color/order of sockets on your Gobball Helmet, you need to sacrifice the exact same item (another mytical Gobball Helmet)
  4. Doing so will give you 5 tries to obtain the combination that you are looking for. Keep in mind that this is totally random so you might get an increase of sockets or no increase at all, the same colors or the same order.

That's the basic functioning of the system: sacrifice items to improve your gear.

Now to apply bonuses to the Sockets you need to use Shards which can be bought at the market or you can get them yourself by destroying equipment using the "Hammer" icon on the top right corner in your Inventory. The amount of shards you'll get depends on the level and rarity of the item + an extra bonus if the item hasn't been identified yet. You can also level up these bonuses by adding more shards to them

Each Color of Socket can give you a specific set of bonuses and the effect is doubled on certain pieces of equipment (e.g: a blue sockets will give you double Initiative if it is applied on an amulet). Check this thread to see what bonuses each color has and what piece of equipment can boost them: https://www.wakfu.com/en/forum/143-guides/237419-enchantment-progression-table

I see that does seem a little bit simpler than the old smithmagic system. Maybe lol. Thanks for the knowledge. I have a much better grasp on what I'm doing now, it is much appreciated.

i did suggest having pvp equalized, having ecafliptus the pvp dedicated arena, a location where level and gear doesnt matter cuz all items will be available for testing and changing, kinda like beta. that way pvp someone that just started could battle someone thats played for 5 years. instead of the person that played longer having an advantage over new players.

Anyways, this would be a great area to also test out items and builds even for pve.
