how do i distribute my points as a earth/water panda

I have 20 on aoe and 3 on general mastery at the moment. should I focus solely on general mastery instead since some of my spells are single target? what pet and what mount should I get?
it's depend, how do you want to play it, personnally my panda earth/water is distance/zone, with zone mount and zone pet.
If I put points into distance, isn't it very restrictive since some of the earth spells are melee? why don't you put the distance points into area mastery as well? is there diminishing return when I invest too many points in one single mastery?
As above, I think it depends on what you want to do.
Panda only has a handful of melee spells though: Six Roses, Bash Barrel, and Triple Whammy. A distance AOE panda will probably just be using Lactic Acid and Blisskrieg. Remember that even carrying the barrel, Blisskrieg doesn't move you until AFTER it's done the damage.
Investing in AOE makes sense, but does run into issues where important spells like Milk Wave, Six Roses and the poison from Poisoned Chalice are all single-target effects.
For most pandas I've seen though, the Distance + Zone spread makes the most sense, since they tend to be hitting enemies at longer ranges with spells like Milking It and Blisskrieg. But if you want your panda to function at a lot of ranges with your stat spread, putting all your strength points into general Elemental Mastery won't hurt you too bad.

because you can't go above 20 in a secondary mastery, so you can't put more than 20points in dtsance mastery.
milk wawe can be used on the barrel, and if i remember correctly cyanose is fixed and indirect so single target mastery don't work on this.
