Gameplay questions and help to build
By Velkolokar - MEMBER - September 18, 2017, 16:53:51Hello everyone, note that english is not my native language so I apologize if I've made mistakes.
I come back after many months to discover the new Sacrier revamp. I played Feca because it was the best tank but Sacrier was far more my kind of character so I would like to switch.
I want to be a Tank with damages, I hear Earth/Fire is the best for that. But I also want some placement to help, some Air spells will be needed, knowing I can have many decks, so maybe tribuild ? Can Earth/Fire Sacrier tank alone or is it more like a DD with "oh shit survability" buttons ?
I often play with : Masqueraider DD, Foggernaut motherfogger, Cra Earth/Air single Target, Eniripsa and Pandawa Fire/Water. Sometimes with an Eliotrope. Most of the time : alone in melee with the Masqueraider buddy.
I'm currently lvl 121 without any equipment (used it for my Feca a while ago) and I'm looking for what I need now. After some tests with dummies, I have questions :
- Survability wise, should I use Blood Cage or Rocky Foot ? Both in the deck and/or when use which one ?
- I saw a TANK tribuild using Motion Sickness (with Insanity), Assault AND Blood Rush. Is it only for being capable to hit the weakness of the enemy or there is a time to use one or another ?
- Is it worth to use Bold Punishment with Sacrier's Heart and fire spells for the AoE Damage with Flame Return when not tanking a boss, or aiming for damage with the air spells and forgot about Fire elem and go Earth/Air ?
- Is using Colonnades generally a mistake ?
Thanks for the time and answers !
Fire/earth is great for being a damaging tank, with the rework sacrier shields becomes stronger the lower our hp goes, so you will be dealing dmg through fire when you're at full hp then start to shield yourself when you're closer to 50% hp.
As for your questions:
1) Cage of blood and rocky foot are great choices to have in a tank deck, this is mostly due to -MP from cage of blood and amor generation with dmg from rocky foot.
2) Sacrier have an easier time being tri elemental now, this is due to the branches synergising better. The only downside with this is the limiting spaces in your deck will force you to pick fewer spells from each branch.
3) Bold punishment is great if you want to deal dmg, but keep in mind that a fully buffed bold punishment will give you 100% dmg dealt AND -200 resistances. If you're not tanking bosses then this active is a must for dealing massive dmg. For using flame return you will need an additional passive, this passive will give you additional burst whenever you dies, or whenever you need something dead.
Earth/air is viable, but you will be missing the raw dmg from fire.
4) Colonnades can be a great way to amor yourself, but the base dmg on that spell is just horrible. Hitting 3 or more enemies with this spell will give you more armor than 2x rocky foot. There exists situations where this spell can be great, but when theres fewer enemies this spell will generally fall off in effectiveness, due to less enemies to hit.
Thanks for the tips
However I'm still confused about some specification :
1) For exemple : should I prefer the HP gain of Blood Cage or the armor of Rocky foot, if I don't have to remove MP ? I would say the armor to keep HP as low as possible for berserk damage and greater armor, so when the HP gain is more valuable ? If I have 90% hp, the HP gain may be higher thant the armor generated, but I will do less damage after... That's my problem with having both, excluding MP removal need.
2) In that case, which spells do you think are better in most situation ?
3) Which passive are you talking about ?
For the Earth/Air build 12PA, Motion Sickness*2 + Assault*2 deal 69*2 + (75+42)*2 = 372 with potential AoE for earlier Motion Sickness, against Earth/Fire build 12 PA Blood Rush*4 = 93*4 = 372 with 100 Flame return. If not using Bold Punishment, I don't see the point using fire spells and if using Rocky Foot is better than using Blood Cage... Can you explain where the raw damage fire comes from ?
4) That's why I though, thanks for clearing doubts. =)
