Attraction and Sac Fist Range
By hemyani - MEMBER - April 10, 2017, 01:51:22Dear good people,
I wish to convince as many people as possible on a serious issue with sacs in order to bring this proposal into consideration by the good men working on Class Development. Sacs suffer from what is known as Retar... Noob Range Specification Syndrom, or NRSS for short. Attraction and Sacrier's First, with -2 range get reduced to melee ranged .. gap.. closers..? Another spell that is also affected by this nonesene is Sacrifice, but the impact of reduced range on this spell is tolerable since it has a decent AoE. Tanks who wish to get into the thick of a fight are forced to use Light Speed as a means of gap closing, another option is Assault and Transportation but these are very situational. I urge every honest, hard working Sac to stand up and say NO to this %@&[email protected]#%!. These two spells specifically need to have a fixed range.
Minimum range on Attraction is 2. Also Sacrier doesn't take any range penalties through passives anymore, so unless you're consistently getting blinded I don't think you need to worry about -2 range as much.
I think the more pressing issue is just the general behavior of the Sacrier's Fist. Since it only attracts by 3 cells, and only deals damage when the sac comes into contact feels a bit silly when cast at 5+ range. It feels like either the spell should have a fixed range (like similar gap closers), or the distance it moves the Sacrier should be modifiable. Mostly I just miss crossing half the map with the spell.
Attraction just.. it's a really strong spell still. At most I might want it to get 2-5 base range instead of its current 2-4. But it's really hard to complain about such an efficient spell.
I feel you.
I'm loving the new Sacrier, but these 2 spells really hurt me.
They're like the splinter on an newly crafted table.
As Gelgy said, Sacrier's fist should'nt be limited to 3 cells close-gap and make it possible as long as the range is met.
Attraction's 6 cell pull can be taken advantage with 2 more range or 1 range + motion sickness on-self. But it doesn't have any bonus lock contrary to what the skills description says.
