It's possible the description is incorrect and only the evolved version of the passive makes Assault non-line of sight?
EDIT: Tested it, and Mobility is working as intended: You no longer require line of sight to hit a target with Assault if you have the passive in your deck. It doesn't necessarily update correctly in the spell UI, but it works fine in battle evolved or not.
Are you confusing "line of sight" with how Assault is a linear spell?
I have an Fire/Earth Sacrier, but for the Abandoned Workshop I needed the mobility and positioning of an Air Sac, so I made a new spell deck with Air spells (Assualt included) and the Mobility passive.
At first when I tried it, it worked correctly. Then, at some point, I noticed my LoS on Assault was blocked, and I was wondering what's wrong. I checked again my spell page to make sure I had the passive, and I did.
This was not a one time occurence, as it kept happening.
I suspect the issue is related to the Sacrier's real level.
For Sacrier with real level 140 and above, we can't seem to reproduce the error by adjusting our levels.
Does the bug occur consistently for all Sacrier with their REAL level between 40 and 139?
The issue might be that for some reason the passive checks the Sacrier's 'real level' to determine whether it lets Assault work without line or sight or not. This would mean that it appears to work correctly if your real level is past 140, whatever build level you play with.. But if your real level is under 140, it doesn't work as described.
I understand it's linear. It just show the "eye" icon on the spaces behind an enemy even with mobility in my passive, which should actually be blue coloured squares so I can click and target those behind another enemy.
I can confirm that Assault doesn't work with the Mobility passive.
As you can see in the attached picture below, my Sacrier has the Mobility Passive in his deck, but he can't "Assault" the Sram.
It's possible that the Mobility passive works correctly for any player with their REAL level above the level for the passive's evolution.
Quick question for everyone experiencing the bug: Is your Sacrier's real level between level 40 and level 139? Adjusted levels don't seem to reproduce the bug.

In short; Yes. I believe this is a bug.

i have it too ;(
for 100% its doesn't work.
Other 2 spells works like they write on mobility.
Assault works thesame with and without mobility
This is so weird. It's worked consistently for my Sacrier. I wonder what's different here?
Try it again with the unevolved and evolved version of mobility passive by lowering your real level. Not yet high enough for me to test.

Seems to be working fine for me aswell, even downlvld myself to test the unevolved version which also worked like a charm.
works for me too

yes now lvl105 and its still bugged
Are the targets you are trying to assault stable? If so they cannot be selected.
