A better understanding of Tonic Glyph?

By Kenospally#9048 August 28, 2016, 04:33:34
I usually can understand the game's rules, but I'm having a bit of trouble with Tonic Glyph. I don't really know how to correctly use it in combat. Is it a spell can be used on myself, allies, or enemies? Is it triggered by any elemental spell, or by other glyphs? It's making me scratch my head a little too much. If anyone can give me some clear examples on how I would use it in a fight, I would appreciate it.

Anything that starts its turn on the glyph gets either 2ap, if you cast it once, or 4ap if you cast it twice on the same spot.

On one turn you can cast it twice, either on the same spot or two different spots. It lasts two turns, so you're effectively making your 2ap become someone's 4ap, if they start both their turns on the tonic.

It's best for allies. There aren't many situations where you'd want to solo with it, especially since enemies can move you off of it and use it themselves.

I'm a little fuzzy on how many glyphs feca can have at once, and how much control they can benefit from.

So basically, you're sacraficing your AP so that your ally can have more AP the next turn, which could be more effective if they do more damage than you.

If your allies stay on the same spot, they can use the glyph twice, meaning you give them double the AP you spent. Great on Xelors, who might be on their dial for that time anyway.

If you solo and lock enemies next to you, you can keep up a 4-AP-glyph by refreshing it once a turn, meaning you gain free 2 AP every turn. Most feca-fights seem to be endurance-battles anyway, so it should work out for enemies that don't push/pull/swap.

You can cast Tonic twice per turn (either 2 2-AP or 1 4-AP), but the amount of glyphs you can have on the field only seems to be limited by your control.

Yeah. If you stat your feca for full defence and you tonic glyph a glass cannon DD you're effectively getting glass cannon damage out of a full tank build.

Last I checked enemies trigger but don't benefit from tonic glyphs, and the max number of glyphs you have out is limitted by your control and cooldowns only
