If you use it right it will become a part of the second most powerful burst which the cra can offer. The right way for dmg purpose would be using biting blow + sharpened arrowhead + raining arrow.

Another way to use it for dmg purpose would be if you use raining arrow + biting blow + raining arrow so you can thing of it as using raining arrow 3 times on a target (raining arrow is limited to 2 uses per target) because biting blow with biting lvl 3 will double the dmg of raining arrow. This combo isn't better as a 4x riddling arrow or 1x lashing arrow + 3x riddling arrow so the first said way to use it is the only really good way to use it for dmg purpose.

You can also use it in combination with blinding arrow but there is no content i can think of in which reducing range would be necessary.

I can only recommend you taking biting blow as an earth cra because you have two ways to burst and depending on what burst is currently doing more dmg use either biting blow + sharpened arrowhead or sharpened arrowhead + destructive arrow.

Its more of a pvp spell and the +range skill is superior instead of this one.

However it does have its use on boss like Steel beak, where you need to either kill 3 crows to stab youself or stay on specific spot so you dont fall down in phase when he goes down.
Then you use this skill on a friendly player with no stab effect, so they survive the fight.

3 stab players + 2 on immune spot ---) cra shots the 6th one if it lacks a skill to stab itself.

Also useful when you want to consume your Sharpened Arrowhead nicely.

Especially for 13AP (has sharpened arrowhead(from plaguing maybe) and sharpening stacks): Biting Blow+*sharpened arrowhead* Rain of Arrows+*sharpened arrow* Destructive Arrow.

As i mentioned, this is the right way to use Biting Blow + Rain of Arrows.

Only doable with the Anticipation passive which would be kind of a waste because there are other passives which are better.

Not if you also remove lots of MP from creeps the previous turn (prep for boss bursting)... Just lashing everybody and the boss too for riddle xd

By the way, what is the point of it stabilizing enemies? Doesnt it just help enemies?

Because smetimes they have spells that can move them, like the Syclick or Kokoleric.

We have to also keep in mind biting blow increases the car's chance at removing MP. In tropical dungeon, clearing mobs can become a major task if healers can move about freely. In one 12ap turn a car can hit the healthy one with biting, then lashing, then blazing x2 and TOTALLY NUETRALIZE that healer, if they don't have linear line of sight on anything. It will be stabilized with 0 mp- can't walk, can't do the folkloric teleport. Saved us a lot of trouble, giving the team time to finish off others without worrying about them getting a full heal. Another instance, again on moon island, is kannibal dungeon boss. You have to keep that boss range down, so, a car could put biting blow on the ground, (assuming feca has used provocation- best to let that happen than try to take boss mp with cra) get the biting buff then hit boss with blinding, you have minimized his output for two rounds. Usually have a rogue feeding him blinding bombs every round, but if ever rogue can't get it, Or you don't have a rogue to party with, car would be the next best choice.

use it to stop something from moving for the turn

bite + lashing + 2 blazings = -5 MP and cannot use movement spells.

nah it's just like a free biting blow if you're using the air spells after that.

Doesn't it reduce all their ap costs by one. Or is that not worth it for 4 ap

When you cast Biting Blow, you get three levels of the Biting state. Each air spell cast consumes 1 level of biting and has its AP cost reduced by 1. So the result is that you can only save a maximum of 3 AP on air spells.

With Anticipation, you break even since Biting Blow costs 3 AP, making this a useful approach if you have some other use for Biting Blow. Without Anticipation, Biting Blow costs 4 AP, so you effectively lose 1 AP.

It is never ever worth casting Biting Blow just to reduce the cost of your air spells. If you're going to follow Biting Blow with air spells, make sure you accomplished something worthwhile by casting Biting Blow in the first place.

Useful things to do with Biting Blow:
  • Stabilize a friend or foe! (Very handy when dealing with enemies that like to abduct allies, or teleport obnoxiously)
  • Apply Incurable to an enemy (Useful against monsters that use self-heals to last longer. Looking at you, Kokoclerics, Nyl Shaman, and all you life-stealing bastards).
  • Use the bonus to MP removal from the Biting State to immobilize enemies with Lashing and Blazing Arrows.

The bonus damage from Raining Arrows is nice, and sometimes Blinding Arrow might be useful (Enutrof and Rogues do blinding better)... The AP cost reduction on air spells isn't worthless, but it's not worthful either.
