Is Brakmar Ran by Edgelords?
By Jam78 - MEMBER - December 16, 2016, 18:06:07lol, but in absolute seriousness, I was wondering if there is any benefits or point in joining Brakmar on the Remington server?
I am considering giving it a try with my new character. I always steered clear of Brakmar in the past because it always looked dark and depressing, and I never had much interest or need in excessive mining or kama minting, but lately, I've been liking the color red, and pretending to be a Fire Nation citizen, and I kind of want to try something different from choosing Sufokia all the time.
What is Brakmar like? In terms of locations, dungeons, people and politics.
P.S., I love making bread and plan on working on handyman craft, but I would never choose a nation solely on those reasons alone.
P.S.S. I'm probably am going to become a pirate anyways
Can't tell you much about politics
bcz politics is irrelevant, lol, but nations are kinda all the same and players everywhere are the same (just some nice ppl with a bit of bad ppl, like anywhere else). The only differences there might be: map colors (Brak is indeed darkish, lorewise it's an evil nation and ex-fire-damage-nation, blah-blah) and amount of possible diddlydoo happening on its territory (the more popular/populated nation it is - the more likely it'll get in smth like riktus atks, like infamous forests of Bonta, while lesser nations are usually stale/stabile). Though lately it seems like it's all calm everywhere (both destroying/sustaining eco is pointless).
Every nation has set of dungeons that every nation has (like celest gobbals/tofu, hoodlums dg etc) and one-two dungeons associated with this nation that can be met only there (like shark dg in Sufo, frog dg in Amakna, whirly dg at Bonta or chafer dg in Brak, it doesn't affect anything tbh, you can lvl just fine w/o those few dungeons or just come to another nation to do it's dg).
Every nation has "argh, screw this map!11" area (the map that is hard to navigate due to dumb position of higher/lower map pieces etc. It's Jumping Jungle area for Sufokia, Kara for Bonta, Holey Forest for Amakna, iirc), for brakmar it's Sidimote Moors. It doesn't matters what nation you'll choose, there will always be that one [email protected]#$% map in there.
You can lvl up profs in any nation (crops can be planted in any of those, only amount of fields/vacant space varies; high lvl trees are growing better at Brak/Bonta, aside from islands, if nothing had changed).
Mines are present in every nation and even more - they're connected (with some practice you can freely migrate from nation to nation via mines, but it takes a lot of time... and bombs). So lvling miner isn't so dependant on nation choise, even more - after some point you'll have to leave nation to lvl miner prof further (lvl65+? somewhere around that) so you'll be farming ores mostly outside the nation.
imao, nation alignment is decorative/roleplay atm, they're mostly all the same (tho Amakna/Bonta are more populated if I get it right, so you have a higher chance of finding a party near the marketboard).
P.S. I'm ex-amaknian, have had several charas in Bonta for years and for the latest years I've settled down in Sufokia because I like its calmness/bright maps and have most friends from that nation. I was Riktus as well on 1 char (for pvp sake), but found their hub and mechanics not fitting to my taste/goals.
I hope it helps at least a little. Have fun!
I really love Sufokia, but I'm tempted to just choose Bonta or Amakna for change of scenery and pace, especially since I plan on joining the Riktus clan this time around. Besides, I want to see the Sadida Kingdom.
Then choose whatever you like! As I said above, nations don't rly affect anything, it's just maps with different colors and all the same content (exc for Riktus - they don't have their own lands with dgs, only docks-gathering-hub). You can access Sadida Kingdom from any nation btw.
The only possible nuisance there may be is travelling as an outlawed Riktus - in case of eco terrorism you'll have to forget about using dragos/zaaps, yet again, it's not that hard since you still will have legs and mount.
