This is really annoying because I would like to have my membership sorted before I start playing on the 29th. I have contacted Ankama Support but I haven't heard anything back. It seems as though I'm not the only person having this issue. Has anyone had this issue fixed for them? Perhaps there should be a section in the forums for dealing with issues.

As for people complaining about the balance between paying players due to the different stat bonuses, I'd have to say that this will most likely not really matter. It seems Ankama is going full force with the Dofus model, and as others have pointed out, in Dofus these various pets never made any power differences. Other pets that are just as good / better are most likely available in the game. They are "collectable," just like the costume and emotes.
Many MMORPGs charge additional money for a "collector's edition" in order to get some special cosmetics. Here, all they are asking for is your subscription, no additional cost for cosmetics. In fact, by subscribing for a longer period you get a discount.
SE does need to fix the Euro symbols, though. If you click on the link, you can see that for NA the price is actually in dollars. In any case, $52 dollars is less than the cost of a console game, and most console games don't offer the longevity of an MMO.
If I ever drop my subscription to this game, it will be because Ankama never moves forward with the potential that this game has. That would be it. It certainly won't be because of this modest and respectable payment model.

To go further on that; Companies have to make money as well and the Dofus Model is a great FTP/PTP Model. Obviously they changed it up a bit because even in Dofus FTP people could pay and get skills and level it up during their ftp stage.
People whom pay to play should have not only an advantage (not a huge one) but a reason to pay. With Square Enix helping the Wakfu project they are putting their weight behind them to improve the dofus game, and make a profit.
(I think if you pay for a year you should get more stuff btw
