Sufokia the Sunny

Do you want to be absolutely sure before choosing your Nation? Or perhaps you’ve already made your choice, but you still have some niggling doubts? We’re here to help! Let’s discover all the pleasures of Sufokia...

Principally known for its port town, Sufokia has managed to keep its head well above the rising water, remaining unfazed by even 10 kameter-high waves. There’s a well-known refrain from the World of Twelve’s fishing Nation which goes: “On the shores of the oceans, Kokokos and crustaceans...” These are just a few of the marvels this gigantic seaside resort has to offer. But beware...! The Nation’s coat of arms doesn’t bear a purplish Kralove for nothing… Beneath the sands of Sufokia you’ll find hidden treasures and treasons alike...

		PROFESSIONS

Sufokia’s specialty is obviously fishing. You’ll therefore find more machines dedicated to this profession than you will elsewhere.

Master Barney, John Ussack, and Fligh are three of the greatest specialists in the archipelago. They’ll teach you all the secrets of the fishing trade, from the best bait to hints for hooking your larvae.

		FAMOUS FACES

Master Screech isn’t as cold as he might appear. From the Sufokia Headquarters, he’ll direct you to the best fishing spots in the Nation and give you your first fishing rod so you can become a great Sufokian citizen!

If you think John Ussack looks a bit orange, it’s only because he spends his entire life out in the sun, fishing his days away. He has some great advice for becoming an exemplary fisherman and can be found in the village.

Fishing Gobballs? Impossible? Make sure Hugo Tydal doesn’t hear you say that! Head on over to his prairie and he’ll show you that even a trapper can become a half-decent fisherman.

It didn’t take long for the citizens of Sufokia to understand that, in order to protect their harvests from the tide, they’d need to make sure they were up out of the way! Van Kooper is the guardian of the Hanging Gardens, a wondrous spot that will give you a good insight into the farmer profession.

Along Sufokian river banks is where you’ll find those on the hunt for gold, armed with their sieves. You didn’t honestly think that you wouldn’t bump into any Enutrofs here, did you? Billon Stroud is friendly enough and will happily share his mining myths with you!

In the Turfo Canyon, it’s not the sound of waves that fills the air, but Larsenus Wallace’s music. Playing his conch shell is one of his favorite hobbies... after herbalism, of course!

Fed up of the smell of the sea? Came and have a sniff around the firs in the Jumpin’ Jungle! If you’re lucky, you might just bump into Kokogro, who’s always ready to explain exactly how one becomes a lumberjack.

Steamulating Shore is one of the largest areas of Sufokia and includes a village, mines, a harbor, and areas full of monsters... Amongst all of this is Fligh, another of the Nation’s distinguished fishermen.

The three trade bridges are in the capable hands of Fafahoff (legendary fishmonger and master baker, chef, and handyman), Violet Cotton-Sock (specialist of all that glitters amongst the armorers, jewelers, tailors, and leather dealers), and Synosore (known and admired by all weapons masters).

		POLITICS

Arathyra the Benefactor is the current governor of Sufokia. Positive and open minded, Arathyra looks to help her people have fun and be proud of their Nation.

		LANDSCAPE

Naturally, you can expect fine, soft sand beneath your feet and the sound of waves from Sufokia’s shores. However, don’t go thinking that’s all there is to this Nation; you won’t find anywhere in the World with as many shells, algae, and different species of fish. In Sufokia, there are beaches aplenty and you definitely won’t be the only pebble on them!

		WILDLIFE

Certain monster families have chosen Sufokia as their home and can be found nowhere else in the World of Twelve!

Crabs

Average level: 20 – 30

Type of treasure dropped: Crab Set, Crab Claw, Crabshell

Sufokian Crabs are incredibly nippy, and we’re not talking about the speed of their movements!

Kokokos

Average level: 30 - 40

Type of treasure dropped: Kokoko Set, Kokonut, Koko Leaf

Watch out when you’re walking underneath Kokokos... their nuts might just fall on your head!

Sharks

Average level: 40 - 50

Types of treasure dropped: Shark Set, Shark Tooth, Shark Fin

When you come to Sufokia, think about bringing that friend of yours that always swore Sharks weren’t dangerous...

And, of course, Snappers are also part of Sufokia’s wildlife. Nowhere other than Sufokia do they dare leave the seas to put up a fight!

		DUNGEONS

“What exclusive dungeons has Sufokia got to offer?” we hear you cry. Well, read on to find out!

The Snaptrap
They say that, back in the day, there used to be a place where you could relax and paddle in peace... This strange place was called the “Snaptrap”. When the Flood came, it became deserted, and today an armada of Bernardos and Zordfish has decided to make this haven its HQ!

Kokokobana
You’ll need to agree to be launched from a catapult to get to the island of Kokokobana! Once safely arrived, perhaps you might want to find a little snack? You’ll soon be welcomed by the charming Kokokos… A piece of advice: try and take a chomp out of them before they do you!

Riktus Den
You might have noticed that pickpockets swarm around beachy areas... So imagine what it’s like in Sufokia! Why don’t you go and wake up the bandits from their siestas?

There are Riktus Dens concealed on each archipelago… What’s more, each of them is a little different from the next and all of them are chock-full of traps…! It’s now or never - stop being such a drip and go and show them what else you can do with your rod!

If you like hanging out on the beach and getting roasted by killer rays, come on down to the sunny shores of Sufokia – you won’t be disappointed!

Mount Zinit: Chapter 2

The long awaited Chapter 2 of Mount Zinit 2 is coming! You wondered what will happen after your battle with Aguabrial? You will soon be able to go back to Ullu to discover the rest of the story.

First great novelty: you can form a group to travel all over this new stage of the adventure with your friends! Damp caves, tortuous labyrinths, dark tunnels, strange creatures… You would not be too many to experience it!

Once you gathered up (or alone, if you feel reckless), your journey starts in the Melancholy Falls where you will have to face two new monster families: the Stalagmotes and the Schnecks (see paragraph “Monsters”).

What re the Zinit Stalagmotes? Imagine that stalactites and stalagmites can come to life with a capricious nature… Beware of the Stalagmotes! After all, they were born from lava…

The Schnecks are strange and really ugly creatures whose body is shaped to live in the dark… Do not rely on their puny and hairless aspect… In the bowers of Mount Zinit, no one can hear you scream. Except them.

Careful! These monsters are aggressive and could attack you when you least expect it…

Besides these dangerous fights, you will also have pleasant encounters… But the maze you will have to go through will be as those who inhabit them: cold and slimy! You will soon miss the green fields of Astrub…

Since the content update from May 2nd, access to Mount Zinit has been made easier. Not only did Hullcatz become less greedy to take you on their boat, we also added Cannons on all trade bridges that should allow you to reach each beginning of chapter that you previously unlocked! As for Ullu, in Astrub as on Zinit, he will allow you to leave the mount and come back whenever you want.

That’s right; we didn’t leave you any excuse not to take on this adventure…

This new chapter will be available in the next days: the exact date will be announced soon.
See you soon on Mount Zinit!

Guilds are getting a makeover!

The update on the 2nd of May sees big changes for guilds, and this article will tell you more about them!

Chest, shop, leaderboard… and much more besides! This article will tell you all about the changes we’ve made to the Guild system.

		Guild levels

Each Guild will now be able to gain levels, and in doing so, unlock different bonuses.

A Guild’s overall level is determined by the average of its combat and crafting levels. In order for the Guild’s crafting and combat levels to increase, its members must designate a percentage of the personal experience that they will “sacrifice” to the Guild in the respective areas.

Note that the player does not receive any of the experience given to the Guild.

As it gains experience, the Guild will also gain levels, allowing it to unlock bonuses. Note that some of these bonuses can only be unlocked once the guild has reached a certain level of crafting or combat!

		Guild bonuses

Here are a few examples of the bonuses you’ll be able to unlock as your Guild’s level increases:

· The Guild chest,a place where all Guild members can store their items,
· The Guild shop, where you can obtain exclusive items,
· The Guild Insignia, which will make you stand out in-game, and also identify yourself to other Guild members!

Unlocked bonuses, and bonuses yet to be unlocked, can be viewed in the Guild bank, which can be found in each Nation.

		Guild chest and shop

Let’s spend a moment talking about two of your biggest requests: the Guild Chest, and the Guild Shop.

The Guild Chest is an area where all Guild members can store their items, according to their rank. It can be viewed in the Guild Bank, which can be found in each nation. If you belong to a Guild, a marker will show you where this bank is on the map. The chest has several tabs which are unlocked as the level of your Guild increases, giving you more and more space to store items. All members can view the chest, and store items in it, but only certain members will be able to withdraw items from it. Note that Kamas cannot be stored in the Guild Chest.

The GuildShop will work in the same way as the Token Machines. You’ll be able to obtain items for free which will be unlocked according to the level of the Guild, its combat level and its crafting level.

		Guild interface redesign

With all these new changes, we had to improve the Guild interface.

It is now made up of 3 tabs: General, Rank Management and Calendar (Calendar will follow in a future update).

On the General tab you’ll find:

		The name of your Guild,

		Its levels (global, combat, crafting),

		Its emblem,

A list of members (including their class, nickname, rank, level, nation and description),

		The names of logged-in members,

Its description and message (with the ability to change them),

Its bonuses (unlocked and to be unlocked).

On the Rank Management tab you’ll find:

		Create/remove a rank,

Change the name of a rank,

		Change a rank’s permissions.

The information given about different guild members is also now more substantial: personalised avatar, experience given to the Guild through combat and crafting etc.

		Ranks and customisation

Previously, a Guild had 4 available ranks: Guild Leader, Officer, Recruiter and Member.

Now, you’ll be able to create your own ranks, give them a name and customise their permissions.

The available permissions include, amongst others, “Recruit/remove a member”, “Change a member’s rank”, “Remove an item from the chest”, “Change the Guild description” and “Change the Guild message”.

		Message and guild description

If you belong to a Guild, when you log in, your Guild message will appear in the Guild channel of the chat window.

The message can be changed by certain Guild members, directly from the Guild interface.

It’s the perfect way to let everyone know the latest news, or to organise a meet-up!

What’s more, you’ll be able to add a description to your Guild, which will be available for all players to read on the Guild Leaderboard!

		The guild leaderboard

The Guild Leaderboard is an attempt to establish a ranking of the best 50 Guilds by overall level, combat and crafting.

Anyone can consult the leaderboard, which will be available in the Bank of each nation. It will display the following:

		The name of the guild,

		Its place on the leaderboard,

		Its description,

		The name of its leader,

		Its emblem.

		New haven bag permission

One of the things you asked for was to be able to have a Guild Haven Bag. This will be possible through a new Haven Bag permission called “Guild”.

It will allow you to make a Haven Bag available to your guildwhere you will be able to meet up, store your loot, plant resources, and lots of other things as well!

So, now you know. Guilds are changing completely. Not only will you be able to better organise yourselves and share your resources, but you’ll also be able to compare your Guild to other Guilds in the World of Twelve… who knows, maybe a legendary rivalry will be born!

Take a look at the (almost) complete list of changes that will be applied to the game on May 2nd, with the new WAKFU content update!

	Classes

		Rogue

You have been calling him for loud and long, armed with his bombs and dressed with his scarf, here is the Rogue!

The Rogues are WAKFU’s most feared bandits, and for good reason: they’re so versatile. Pistols, bombs, blades and gadgets are the main components of their devastating arsenal, and they won’t hesitate to use each and every one of them to achieve their nefarious goals!

We’ve kept their unique system of bombs, but their gameplay has changed, and their class spells have been overhauled.

Each elemental branch has its own theme, and we’ve tried to make them more coherent.

You can view all the details of this new class, branch by branch in this DevBlog.

		Eniripsa

Still Life and state Living-Dead: from now on, the damage inflicted to characters with the state “Living-Dead” through heals are reduced by Water attacks.

Lethargy Flask: the damages in case of critical hit are multiplied by 1,5.

Invigorating Word: heals are now applied correctly.

Hammle Mark: now, it transfers MP along with transferring AP.

Rebirth Mark: its cost and damage are pushed down. The resurrected character’s damage is modified (penalty from level 1 and bonus at level 100).

Regeneration: its cost is now 4AP and percentages are reduced. For the remaining time of the turn, it turns all the Eniripsa’s Fire spells into healing spells.

Constitution: the percentage of gained health is based on Eniripsa’s health instead of being based on each allied character’s health.

Coney Mark: it becomes Refund Mark. It restores the cost of the spell used to kill its target (50% of AP at level 1 and 100% of AP/MP/WP at level 100).

Super Coney: it becomes a full part spell: “Coney” which summons an uncontrollable Coney same level as the caster. Its cost is now in WP.

		Cra

Thanks to your feedback, the Cra is rebalanced as follows:

Retreat Arrow: the damages in case of critical hit are multiplied by 1,5 instead of 2.

Storm Arrow: now deals 45 damages at level 100; the damages in case of critical hit are multiplied by 1,5; only the target cell inflicts the whole damage: the wind inflicts only 50% of the damage; Cost is now 3AP and 2MP.

Lashing Arrow: can only be used once per target; damages in case of critical hit are multiplied by 1,5.

Piercing Arrow: this spell can now be cast in any direction (not only in line), but if not cast in line, its damages are divided by 2.

Beacon Sneaking’: the Cra teleports on the beacon instead of teleporting nearby and destroys it in passing. Its AP cost is tapering from 5 to 2, instead of 5 to 1 and its range is not modifiable anymore.

Riddling: The chance of launching it at the beginning of the target’s turn is of 1% by level of the state, instead of 3%.

Seismic Beacon: is now triggered correctly by the spell Piercing Arrow.

Master of Time: evolves from 1 to 20 and no longer from 2 to 21.

Temporal Armor: the possibility to gain 1 AP now evolves from 1 to 20 instead of 10 to 20.

Temporal Burn: Only allows spending up to 10 AP maximum.

Timekeeper: Can now be cast 3 times a turn, instead of 6.

		Sacrier

		ABILITIES

It is not possible anymore to evolve Prospecting and Wisdom with abilities points. We choose to remove them from the improvable abilities and to restrict them to the equipment.

Following these rebalances and, to allow players to reconsider their characters’ builds, on the occasion of this update you will be able to redistribute your abilities and specialties points.

		LEVEL 105

WAKFU welcomed its first levels 100. As soon as they arrived to the top, they were already asking news about level 101! We decided to do better than that… from the next update, you will be able to progress until level 105… But you will have to use the best strategies you’ve learnt from the launch of the game and you will need patience!

		ADVENTURE ISLAND: FORFUT

Vampyro makes a major comeback in a new adventure island: Forfut!Haaa Forfut, its village, its castle…

Two new monster families are waiting for you, the Ghouls and the Borbats, and a new dungeon: the Forfut Castle. Vampyro will show you how he receives his guests! Of course, new challenges and new quests will also be there.

Enough to make levels from 75 to 90 tremble with fear…

		DUNGEONS

After the high level content that has been made available in the previous updates, we add 2 new low level dungeons:

The Bow Meow Dungeonwill be located in downtown Astrub. This three-room dungeon is planned for level 10 players. You access it with the “Bow Meow Key”. It is ideal to practice between new incarnates!

The TofuDungeon will be located in each Nation’s Village area. This double three-room dungeon is planned for players from level 15 to 20. You access it with the “Tofuhouse Key”. It is perfect to learn the spells without coming off unscathed!

The Celestial Gobball Dungeon has been rebalanced to adapt the difficulty of the first rooms to the difficulty of the boss:

Dungeon Gobballs have been replaced by higher level Cloudy Gobballs

The Celestial Gobball has been pushed down.

The Undieworld Dungeons’s battles have been changed:

Now, the state “Sacred Silence” is placed on players at the beginning of the battle. Each time they use a Wakfu Point, they receive strong damage.

A new hint was placed in game to ease players access to the Undieworld.

	TERRITORIES

From now, there will be 2 Ogrest’s Chaos a week, instead of 1.

		COMBAT

We added a new mechanic to increase the strength of monsters depending on the amount of opponents.

So far this mechanic will only be applied to a few monster families that will see their abilities evolve with the amount of players in the fight. These bonuses will differ depending on the type of monster.

The families impacted are:

		Wild Gobballs

		Ghouls and Bats (Forfut)

		Monks

		Rats (monk island)

		MONSTERS

Monks family: the resistances and HP have been pushed up.

Brakmar Stalagmotes: the cost in AP of his spell Stalaspittle has been pushed up.

Miliboowerewolf: is now level 66 instead of 45.

Adult Drheller: their respawn rate has been increased.

Trool was rebalanced to better fit the rest of the wildlife.

Optimization of Black Crow: he now destroys all area of effects with his Flurry and no longer takes damages if his Flurry touches a Sadida Totem. Furthermore, he can now crast his Crobak Shower twice a turn, but only once per target.

Rebalancing of the Nun:

Its Initiative and HP have been increased

Its resistance bonus provided by the Monks is increased by 50%.

Its graves now have more HP.

Rebalancing of the Wild Gobballs:

		Groups will be less populated

		Respawn rate has been increased

The spawning system of Worldbosses changed: they will now appear based on a time window instead of a fixed time.

		PROFESSIONS

Some crafting recipes will create several items (of the same kind) in one craft. The recipes notice the number of item a recipe can create. This is the case for several Baker’s recipes, in particular for some breads that can be created in “packs”.
Some recipe requiring a lot of resources (such as craft “packs”) will give more experience than simplest recipe.

Example:
FARLE BREAD PACK (lvl 5) : 15 Water Bucket + 5 Wheat Flour = 5 FARLE BREAD and 500 profession XP.

This brought us to a global revamp of the Baker and Chef professions, with re-value of recipes(decreasing the need of ingredients) and an increase of the bonus applied by the items.

More fish resources will be available on all achipelagos.
SMITHMAGIC

“Centuries ago, before the Ogrest’s Deluge hit our World, our ancestors were mastering the Smithmagic art.”

This update celebrates the arrival of the Smithmagic in WAKFU! For DOFUS’ regulars, you will quickly note that Smithmagic in WAKFU has a system of its own, more accessible and simplified!

The Smithmagic is not a profession to learn: everybody can do it using the Runic Recyclers. These workshops will allow you to shatter items to get runes.

The runes set on your equipments allow you to add bonuses improving your health points, your critical hit rate, your damage etc. The personalization of your items will be unlimited!

You didn’t know what to do with these bulky equipments in your inventory and you didn’t want to part with them without any profit? You can say goodbye to this dilemma!

		GUILDS

Many improvements have been carried out in the Guilds system:

New evolution system: each guild can gain experience and levels by levying a percentage of its member’s experience. A guild has a battle and a crafting level and its overall level is the mean of these two levels. To level up the guild in battle and crafting, members have to offer a percentage of their personal experience (battle/crafting) they can work out (from 0 to 70%). This experience is lost for the player. The guild overall level allows unlocking bonuses for all the members (guild chest and chest improvement, guild shop and items, bonuses on the characteristics, etc.).

Changing a member’s rank:you can create/delete ranks, edit the names and select permissions.

		Guilds Messages and Description,

Guild interface redesign:it will allow you to add a description visible from the Guilds Leaderboard.

Guilds Leaderboard: rank the 50 biggest guilds according to their overall, their battle and their crafting level. The players can find out there the ranking and the description of a guild, the identity of its leader and its coat of arms. Everybody can consult it at the Guild Bank, in every Nation.

“Guild” permission in the Haven Bag,

Guild chest: this common storage space is accessible at the “Guild Bank” in every Nation (shown by a marker on the map).

Guild shop: it works like the “Tokens Machines” with the same interface. There you can obtain unique items!

Non-subscribers will also be able to create their own guilds.

All the details will be revealed in a Devblog on April 30th.

		CHALLENGES

All the challenges will be rewarded with tokens. This token can be exchanged with items in dedicated machines, available in the Tavern of the 4 Nations.

Most of the items in the challenge machines are exclusives. You can have:

Dungeon keys: they are not anymore available in the dungeon machines but only in the challenge machines (and by dropping them, of course),

Seeds from the adventure islands: Boowolf, Crobak, etc.,

Unique equipments: e.g. the Trool set,

		Experience scrolls.

These changes lead to a global rebalancing (level and stats) of all items acquirable with Challenges tokens.

		CHALLENGES AND QUESTS

The quests system has been improved. Some challenge brings you experience and abilities points:

Castle Wagnarstein: 2 common ability points,

Army of Twofu: Dodging level scroll,

Cavern Story: Experience points and items.

About Mount Zinit:

A compass has been added for the Mount Zinit queststo show the way to the players,

To cast off to Mount Zinit for the first time, Hullcatz only ask you for Piwi Beaks.

The way to Mount Zinit has been simplified: you can access it directly from Astrub harbor and from the canoons on the trade bridges of each Nation.

		ITEMS

Resources integration until level 90, some of them can only be obtained with Challenge tokens.

Lumberjack: addition of harvestable resources Citronana (lvl. 65), Pollard (lvl. 70), Pooplar (lvl. 75), Hornbeam (lvl. 80), Mahogany (lvl. 85) and Yew (lvl. 90).

Herbalist: addition of harvestable resources Volcanic Plant (lvl. 65), Puffball (lvl. 70), Edelweiss (lvl. 75), Cotton (lvl. 80), Gorsegoyle (lvl. 85) and Death Cap (lvl. 90).

Now, full sets can be merged into a single item in your inventory to save space. To do so, you just need to click on the button “Merge set” that was added next to the existing button “see the details of the set”. The set will automatically “unmerge” when you equip it.

A new “Set” category was added to the Marketplace filters.

The recipe for Lunar Breastplate was changed and no longer requires Hulfmouns.

Modifications announced last Friday about Makabra Rings will not be applied. They would just impact too many players. This is why we decided to leave these items just as they were when we put them on the Boutique.

The following sets have been rebalanced:

Royal Gobball Set, to bring it into line with the Royal Tofu Set

Cloudy Set, to match the rebalancing of the Celestial Gobball dungeon

Lil Challenger Set, replaces the Challenger Set and increases from level 35 (average) to level 40.

These challenge rewards now available in the machines had their level, rarity or effect changed:

		The Oxster

		Hard-Boiled Shield

		The Sunbrero

		Silimelle's Wedding Ring

		Dragolyre

		The Celestial Brooch

Smithmagic arrives in WAKFU!

“Centuries ago, long before Ogrest’s Chaos drowned our world, our ancestors mastered the art of Smithmagic.” This ancient art, dating from the Age of Dofus, was not completely lost and reappears today in WAKFU.

This article will teach you the basics of Smithmagic. If you play Dofus, you’re probably very familiar with it, but you’ll soon discover that Smithmagic in WAKFU is completely different.

The first important thing you need to know: Smithmagic is not a profession. With the knowledge of this ancient art having been lost over time, it must be regained. Smithmagic can be practised by everyone, with varying degrees of success. The aim is to recover runes using Runic Recyclers.

These workshops will be situated on the merchant bridges, near the Canoons to Mount Zinit.

The second thing to considers is that although recycling is simple, a rune is a rare item, and as such, difficult to obtain. Smithmagic is a process that requires a great deal of luck, but is very rewarding if you can master it!

		Why does WAKFU need smithmagic?

So you can customise your equipment.

Smithmagic will allow you to adapt your equipment to your class and way of playing the game. Simply set your items with runes that give bonuses to characteristics, damage, HP etc. Your character will be more unique than ever before!

So you can recycle your equipment.

Now you’ll be able to get rid of your unwanted items and gain some space in your inventory without feeling short-changed! The Recyclers will allow you to shatter items for a chance of recovering runes.

How do i Recycle my equipment?

Anyone can recycle, and there’s no profession to learn before you can shatter an item, recover a rune and set it into a piece of equipment.

To recycle an item, head over to a Recycling workshop.

The workshop interface will display all of the items in your inventory that can be recycled. You can then drag and drop the items you want into the dedicated slots at the bottom left of the window, and then start the recycling in the same way you would if you were crafting something.

Only items that can be equipped (with the exception of bags) can be recycled.

By recycling an item in a Smithmagic workshop, the player has a chance of obtaining a rune.

The rate of obtaining a rune is based on the rarity of the itemy, and so it is likely that no rune will be recovered when an item is recycled.

Conversely, recycling common equipment has very little chance of giving you a rune.

Add to this the fact that you can only recover one rune per recycled item. It goes without saying that runes will be a very valuable resource!

When an item is recycled, it is automatically destroyed, whether the player has recovered a rune or not.

		What is a rune?

A rune is a magical stone that will grant a bonus to any item you set it on.

To obtain a rune, you must recycle equipment. At the moment, this is the only in-game method of obtaining runes.

The level of runes increases by 10 from 10 through 200. The higher a rune’s level, the greater its bonus.

A rune’s level is determined by the level of the item you are recycling, rounded up to the nearest 10. For example, if you recycle an item from level 41 to 50, you can obtain a rune of level 50 or no rune at all!

Runes can only be set on items of the same level as the rune, or higher.

When a rune is set, it cannot be recovered. It can, however, be replaced if you drag and drop another rune over it. This action will destroy the original rune.

		How to set a rune

The first thing you need to remember is that not all equipment can be maged, in fact they will be pretty rare. We wanted to make them very prestigious, therefore most of them will be high level, or hard to get. As an example, as part of the new items that can be maged on May 2nd, you will find the Vampyro set. You will also find lover level rings and necklaces... It will be up to you to find out how to get them!

To find out if a piece of equipment can be maged, you need to click on it and check that one or more empty maging slots appear. If you click on these slots, a maging window will appear, in which you can place your runes. Items can have up to 3 maging slots.

To set a rune, simply drag and drop it into one of the maging slots.

A confirmation window will appear, asking you to confirm the action.

And that’s it! Congratulations, you’ve just done your very first bit of maging!

Can you set any kind of rune on your items?

There are three different types of rune corresponding to 3 shapes: round, triangle-shaped, and square.

Each shape corresponds to a different category of bonus. We’ll let you discover which categories yourself, in-game.

Just like the runes, the available slots for runes on items can be round, triangle-shaped and square.

You’ve guessed it: you can only use a rune in a slot of the same shape.

We want Smithmagic to be as comprehensive as possible while still being accessible. The runes available to you are varied, not only in the bonuses that they offer, but also by their power levels. This means that the opportunities for customising your equipment are almost unlimited, and all through a simple drag and drop!

Are you ready to (re)discover the secrets of this ancient art? Who knows, maybe there are even more surprises waiting to be discovered! Join us on 2nd May to find out!

(Due to the interface still being in development when we took the screenshots, it was not yet translated. We apologize for that.)

The Rogues are heading for the World of Twelve on May 2nd! Read on to find out more about their amazing versatility in combat!

The Rogues are WAKFU’s most feared bandits, and for good reason: they’re so versatile. Pistols, bombs, blades and gadgets are the main components of their devastating arsenal, and they won’t hesitate to use each and every one of them to achieve their nefarious goals!

As you’ll soon find out, we’ve kept their unique system of bombs, but their gameplay has changed, and their class spells have been overhauled. Each elemental branch has its own theme, and we’ve tried to make them more coherent.

		Bombs

A Rogue’s bombs have several unique features: they don’t block movement or line of sight, and they have charges. When a bomb no longer has any charge, it will explode. But bombs can also be thrown directly at a target, in which case they will explode immediately, just like grenades!

You can increase a bomb’s charge using the fire spell “Barbed Fire”, but you can also decrease it using the detonator, or by simply throwing or attacking the bomb itself.

An exploding bomb will trigger all other bombs present in its area of effect. Can you imagine the devastation you could wreak with a few well-placed bombs?

		The earth rogue

The Earth branch is based on the firing of pistols. Each pistol shot is different, be that in its range, area of effect, or cost in points, making this Rogue particularly versatile!

Machine Gun: an unpretentious burst that will allow you to finish off (or make a hole in!) your target at low cost.

Piercing Shot: particularly effective against strong targets, this spell ignores a target’s resistances!

Crossfire: a perfect diagonal shot for hitting hidden targets or surprising your opponent.

BLAM!!!: if your enemies have been stupid enough to gather together in a group, BLAM!!!’s area of effect will make them rapidly think twice about making the same mistake again!

Pulsar: this powerful shot will consume all of your AP and MP and will inflict damage according to the number of points consumed.

		The air rogue

Air Rogues are sneaky and deceitful. They won’t hesitate to slap their opponent about and stick their longsword right in their ribs! What’s more, each of their spells has a surprise up its sleeve: a unique effect on a critical hit!

Slap Shot: the Rogue whips out its dagger to tear its opponent to pieces. On a critical hit, the target will suffer reduced Air resistance.

Rogueise: this spell will pull the target towards the Rogue, and position the Rogue behind the target. On a critical hit, the target will become Confused.

Boomerang Dagger: the Rogue throws its dagger in a circular arc. On a critical hit, they will receive an extra pistol shot.

Barbecued Ribs: this spell offers great close-combat damage, and at low cost. It is so powerful on a critical hit that the target loses 1MP.

Longsword: the Rogue brandishes a longsword and deals a powerful close-combat attack to its target. The blow is so powerful that the Rogue is pushed back one tile. However, on a critical hit, the opponent it also pushed back one tile!

		the fire rogue

If you like blowing things up, the Fire branch is made for you! Specialists in gadgets and explosives: a Fire Rogue always has a detonator to hand!

Burning Bomb: this bomb will explode four turns after it is placed, with a chance of inflicting the Burning state.

Barbed Fire: the Rogue uses a piece of magical barbed wire as a whip to teach its enemy a lesson. When cast on a bomb, this spell gives it a charge.

Blaze: using this spell, a Rogue can turn a bomb or Boombot into an electrical conductor, causing damage around the bomb or Boombot.

Blinding Bomb: three turns after being place, this bomb will emit a blinding flash, inflicting the Blindness state.

Flaming Glove: the Rogue uses its Flaming Glove to pull itslef closer to its bombs.

		Rogue specialities

	Active Specialities

Hotwire: this specialty allows a Rogue to ignite its Earth shots.

Detonator: this inexpensive spell will reduce the bomb’s charge each time it is cast, and will increase the bomb’s damage when it explodes.

Magnetic Glove: a Rogue can use this Glove to carry and throw its bombs, or push back their opponents, inflicting damage in the process.

Boombot: this spell summons a small, remote-controlled robot which can push bombs and set them off! If you fire on it, the range of your shot will be extended.

Acciobomb: if a target is situated close to a bomb, Acciobomb will move the opponent to the bomb closest to it. If there is more than one bomb at the same distance from the target, the bomb will be chosen at random.

	Passive Specialities

Bomberfan: increases the damage of bombs, and the Rogue’s resistance to this damage.

Surprise Shot:each time the Rogue fires its pistol, it has a chance of triggering an extra Water-based shot.

Master of Air: converts some of the Rogue’s Initiative into Air damage.

Runaway: with each blow received, the Rogue has a chance of fleeing in the opposite direction (from 1 to 3 tiles).

Rogue Master:this passive allows the Rogue to gain Initiative and Mechanics. It also has a chance of recovering an AP if one of its bombs explodes.

The Rogues might not be ready to reveal all of their secrets just yet, but at least you have a much better idea about them and their unusual style of play. Just make sure you’re around on 2nd May to see what else they’re hiding behind their headscarves!
