Play!

They’re coming, and they’re about to change your gameplay experience forever! Multiman is a sidekick system that allows you to control one or several characters in addition to yours! A super-bonus for those who play solo, a new way of dominating dungeons for guilds – a little revolution in WAKFU! And it's coming December 10...

The Multimen are the first characters to introduce the sidekick system to WAKFU. When you call them, Lumino, Skale, Krobax, Trank, Beelzebug, and Shadow will leap to your aid, under your direction! And this will just bring a fresh new way of experiencing the game, and develop new strategies.

Who are they?

6 Multimen, 6 Dofus... you do the math! These Vigilantes are hybrid creatures created from monsters and the magic of the Dofus. Ereziah Melkewel created them:
  • Firefoux + Ivory Dofus = Lumino
  • Red Scaraleaf + Crimson Dofus = Beelzebug
  • Shark + Turquoise Dofus = Skale
  • Crobak + Emerald Dofus = Krobax
  • Treechnid + Ochre Dofus = Trank
  • Ereziah's Shadow + Ebony Dofus = Shadow

Each Multiman also has his own powers. You'll know more soon...

What is a Sidekick exactly?

A Sidekick fights alongside adventurers, is controlled by the player and counts as a character during a fight. Note that they won’t be usable in PvP.

Sidekicks can be equipped with all the same gear as a player's character, with no restrictions besides levels.

A character can control up to two Sidekicks at once in a fight.

The Sidekicks win experience but can't become more powerful than your character.

Sidekicks can be exchanged between players via the Marketplaces.

How does one acquire a Sidekick?

The first Sidekicks will be the Multimen. You can obtain them on the Boutique or via subscription offers.

In order to first be able to test a Multiman, you will get to test them for free ingame. The multiman available for free will change each week, and allow you to test Lumino, Skale, Krobax, Trank, Beelzebug and Shadow one after the other, if your account has a running subscription.

A seventh Sidekick will be available entirely for free ingame: the Astrub Mercenary! Getting him will be easy; you’ll only need to complete a quest in Astrub!

How to get them

Beelzebug, Skale, Krobax, and Trank:
The elemental Multimen will be sold separately in the Boutique starting from December 10th:
  • 5800 Ogrines each
  • 9000 Ogrines for 2 Elementary Multimen
  • 14000 Ogrines for all 4 Elementary Multimen

Lumino
The “Light” Multiman will be offered with 6 month subscription (additionally to the usual gifts).

Shadow
The “Darkness” Multiman will be offered with 1 year subscription (additionally to the usual gifts).

Why not asking us in a Poll like in DOFUS?

The Sidekick feature will be quite different in DOFUS and WAKFU. We chose precise acquisition means that would better fit what we have in mind for the game. Also, development of this model is already well advanced and modify it now could have a direct impact on the quality of the content.

Don’t forget that you’ll get the possibility to test this feature with the Mercenary of Astrub, and the weekly testing available with the Multimen.

Be the first to share this!

Things you need to do to get more money:

  1. Add more costumes, we should be able to dress up in the nice outfits the NPCs wear, and those new Astrub profession outfits look good, let us wear them.
  2. Let us dress up multimen in costumes and add accessories to them.

So seems like these will be similar to Maka weapons in the sense that they're not as good as real players and they can be leveled up with you but not higher than you. Would be a great way to fill up empty character slots as long as they give loot, else no thanks.

I'm kind of looking at it like a pre-200 Dopple system. Very fun for PvM

Hmm I might actually resub my accounts for this one. Depends on how useful they are though. If high lvl eni + DD + 4 of these can actually run something then I'd actually get to run dungeons on my own time instead of waiting for groups in a ghost town.

Intrigued. I'll be watching this one.

So you openly went p2w now yeah? Eh well, was fun while it lasted. Not going to resub anymore.

You guys really are the worst.

Either f2p and shop or monthly sub...not both. You are the only game that does this and it costs you a lot of players.

Edit: Thinking about it... I have my money riding on you guys announcing f2p on all servers within the next 2 months. Wakfu going that bad, yeah?

It's not p2w since we can get one ingame, also. Everyone has an opportunity to get one without paying extra. Not to mention you can buy them off other people with Kamas

Yeah, the better ones will be sold in shop.

Buying a fully leveled character is actually the worst form of p2w that I have ever seen now that I think about it. At least Ankama is best at something!

P.S.: The fact that shop items can be sold for Kamas makes it more p2w, not less. I always had a problem with that but since so far they were useless cosmetic items it didn't bother me enough to quit.

Edit: Read the announcement again and nope, you cannot get them in game. Except the Astrub one. Astrub....says all about how strong it is going to be. An appetizer to spend money in the shop.

Wow, someone's a negative nancy.

Just because it's from astrub, doesn't mean it'll be bad, they've not listed the stats. Also the one's from the shop are elemental specific, while the Astrub one we know nothing about (same with the light and dark one's which you get the same way you get a couple pets, which they are just adding to the list of things you get with the sub, not removing anything else).

That and I personally believe you're wrong about the fact the people can sell them to other players for kama makes it more Pay 2 Win.

1. That allows people with less real money or those that don't want to spend real money to purchase them in game.

2. Think of it like a Maka Weapon. People sell those of all varying levels. Some only lvl 1 still at cheaper prices, and some high up there for the effort of maxing them out.

3. You never had to use them in the game before, so why would it be Pay 2 Win now? They are not changing how the game works, you can get buy fine without them still and they again, give you a free one in game. I know some people who've never used a maka weapon, and they're perfectly fine.

4. Multiman will not affect PvP play at all as you've may have noticed that they only work in PvM fights. So there will be no Multiman PK groups out there.

5. We don't know the stats of the Multiman. They will most likely not be as good as having another player in your party, thus you'll still most likely want to party with actual people, but for those time you cannot find a group, be it they're all busy or asleep (which is my case as I get off work at 11:30pm now during the week and 95% of my contact list isn't on that late), this is wondrous news for me allowing me to do dungeons I would most likely not be able to solo.

6.
Oh, and a big point, since YOU mentioned buying a fully leveled character, like Maka Weapons, you cannot use a Multiman that is higher level than you. So there would be no point in buying a fully leveled one unless you're already max level. So how is that P2W? That and buying these leveled Multiman is all done with IN GAME MONEY, not cash. So it's more like buying a weapon or anything else in a game (oh, look, I made it to a new town in my rpg, head to weapon shop and upgrade... wait, is that pay 2 win?....)

7. You want to point out appetizers? At least point out that they're being nice enough to let us test EVERY Multiman for free, instead of just pointing out the COMPLETELY FREE one you get in game. Which in my opinion is actually nice of them to do. For those who only want one or two, this will help them test out and find the specific one that they will want.

8. They have yet to not only list the stats, but list whether or not they affect PP locks. I would reserve your judgement until then as well. They could have horrible abilities or amazing ones. Same goes for the stats. If they help break pp lock, you could push that that is P2W, but then again, you wouldn't need to be an Enu anymore just to drop something because you're party is to small.

All in all, I see waaaaay more good things than anything bad about this. People used to complain that the Maka Items were P2W, how many still believe that now? Not many, if any, as far as I know. Multiman will have people who like and dislike it. If it's something that upsets you enough to quit, I cannot say I shall miss you (mainly because I don't know you, kind of hard to have personal attachment to something like that). I shall at least continue to enjoy this game, Multiman and all.

*edit
On prices, for those who don't want to do the math themselves.

Astub Multiman = Free

Light Multiman = Comes with 6 month sub (which runs $32) and you still get everything still included with the sub, incuding pet, haven gems, and candies.

Dark Multiman = Comes with 12 month sub (which runs $64) and you still get everything still included with the sub, incuding pet, haven gems, and candies.

1 Elemental Multiman = 5800 Ogrines (5000 Ogrines = $10, 800 Ogines = $3.) That is a one time purchase of $13 for a single Multiman that you get to keep. No resubbing like your normal subs.

2 Pack of Elemental Multiman = 9000 Ogrines (5000 Ogrines = $10) Buy the $10 amount twice for the least amount of cash spent for a total of $20. This also leaves you with an extra 1000 ogrines to spend on something else in the shop (Maka items are 900, use on that if not buying cosmetic things, or a pet). You also saved $6 than buying your two Multiman separately.

4 Pack of Elemental Multiman = 14000 Ogrines (5000 Ogrines = $10) Buy the $10 amount three times for $30 (the price of one month in a normal MMO) and you get all 4 Elemental Multiman and you still have that extra 1000 ogrines to spend. This saved you $10 from buying the 2 Pack twice or $22 dollars from buying all 4 individually.
