Focus: The Protoflex A new Sidekick will be arriving in-game with the upcoming March 18th game update: the Protoflex! Discover in this gameplay devblog, his spells, and much more!

The First Dual Element and Dual Purpose Sidekick

March 18th marks the arrival of the Protoflex whose gameplay will reveal how the next set of Sidekicks will be inspired from.

Indeed, several new brothers-in-arms will be added to WAKFU in 2014 and they will all have the specificity of being both dual purpose and dual element.

Each of them, and this is the case with the Protoflex, will therefore cause damage from two elements at the same time. In addition, each spell will have a different combat effect depending on the Sidekick’s highest elemental mastery.

For example: If the Protoflex is a Tank / Support Sidekick, Earth / Fire. His spells will have a Tank effect if your Protoflex has a higher Earth elemental mastery than his Fire Mastery. On the opposite side, his spells will have a Support effect if he has a higher Fire elemental mastery than his Earth Mastery. In case of equlaity between the Earth and Fire mastery, the spell will not have any effects (only damage).

As you can see this Protoflex has a higher Fire mastery than his Earth mastery. Therefore in combat, he will trigger the "Fire" effects (Support) of his spells.

Protoflex Abilities

Level 10:

Mastery gain (depending on the level of the spells):
  • +8% to Earth and Fire damage
  • +3% to Resistances

Level 100:

+1 AP
+1 MP
+30% to Earth and Fire damage.
+30% to Earth and Fire Resistances.
Mastery gain (depending on the level of the spells):

Level 200:

+1 MP
+93% to Earth and Fire damage
+93% to Earth and Fire Resistances.

  • +140% to Earth and Fire damage,
  • +104% to Resistances.

The Protoflex Spells

  • Effects level 100: If Fire is the highest mastery at the end of the turn: -2 AP to the Protoflex, +2 AP to the 2 nearest allies. If Earth is the highest mastery at the end of the turn: +20 Block, -20% resistance (all) to allies, +20% resistance (all) per ally.

KROSMOZ: The Protoflex

The Protoflex is the new Sidekick that you can choose to have by your side starting with the next game update on March 18th... But who or what is this Protoflex? Where does he come from? This great robot of a new era…Of all the strange things that have been found off the Sufokia’s shores, the Protoflex is probably the most enigmatic and the most disturbing fact is not so much the amount of these machines, which have been found in the depths of the region, but especially the fact that most of these "things" are still operational.

In view of some characteristics reminiscent of the infamous Sire Flexington which gives it its name, this machine is clearly carrying the Foggernaut signature, as said by the Foggernaut archaeologists. But not like the Foggernauts which are now roaming our streets and fields.

No, the Protoflex, is a creation of  the "original" Foggernauts. It even seems that they date precisely from the time when the Foggernauts were separated into two factions:
  • On one side those who continued to believe in Oktapodas, and accepted to live their lives with nothing more than a body of flesh and blood.
  • On the other side, the Foggernauts we know today, those who have mastered Stasis and created mechanical body to receive their conscience and prolong their lives.

Then come the questions that all sciencemages of the World of Twelve have been asking themselves:

Is it a prototype of our Foggernaut mechanical ancestors, or is it from the other Foggernaut faction? Is there "someone" in this complex mechanic? A ghost in the machine? Why were there so many Protoflex? Are these war machines? Are these receptacles for Foggernaut "souls" that haven’t got their "receptacle" yet? How does the Protoflex repair itself? What is their source of energy?

Nobody dared try to take apart an “active” Protoflex, and the rare damaged and inactive “specimens” have almost nothing to give to the "experts" even when disassembled and examined from every angle. The only thing that is for sure is that they do not work on Stasis, as their contemporary "counterparts”.

Remains one last question, raised by a protologue now renamed Asiic Amivos, a question which scientists are afraid to find an answer: Why does an activated Protoflex “links itself” to a person and protects that person, even to the point of jeopardizing its own "existence", as if following some kind of rule, or laws, maybe even the laws of the prototic?

All this still remains to be discovered...http://www.wakfu.com/en/mmorpg/community/blog/posts/416912-krosmoz-protoflex

We do not need faster pet leveling system if their bonuses are suffering due to this change.
What we do need is more powerful and worthy pets.

This.

Nobody asked for +60HP on pet's, why all these nerfs? All pets need buffs no nerfs!!

Hi guys,

First we haven't confirmed the stats changes details of the pets yet, things can still change, so we have to be careful when to base ourselves on the Beta content as it is meant for testing purpose, so the pets are still a work in progress and I will update the changelog accordingly.

Hi guys,

The team is aware of your reports and we are thankful for them.

As you have noticed we have done already some fix but are monitoring still.

In the meantime I recommend for you to report any lag issue you may have to support service as there might be individual solutions to be provided depending on your system, as we don't all use the same.

I hope this helps.

WAKFU: What's Going to Happen in 2014 In 2013, you enjoyed new adventures throughout the world of WAKFU! Creepy, endearing, and even gelatinous creatures; a big, bad Moowolf; Captain Calamari; the Wa Wabbit; and even Count Harebourg. But what will WAKFU have in store for you in the upcoming months?

Last year, your favourite MMORPG benefitted from all manner of new features and improvements: first with the Respec and Smithmagic, not to mention the Masqueraider class and Haven Worlds; all these different additions culminated in December with the simultaneous addition of the Sidekick system and the Multimen.

And 2014…?

Well, get ready to be surprised, because our team has once again raised the bar!

Even more freedom, even more control over the World of Twelve! We won't tell you everything right now (a little suspense never hurt anyone), but below you'll find a few revelations and a few pieces of the puzzle...

Focus: Saharash

You might have just finished Chillberg Island but you do not have the level you rub your shoulders with the Wabbits? Discover what awaits you on Saharash Island, the next new WAKFU adventure island available with the next game update on March 18th!

Would you like more desert?

Saharash is the next WAKFU adventure island accessible to all adventurers of the World of Twelve.

Starting at level 115, a quest will ask you to take a boat to visit Saharash Island.

Indeed, the original expedition to explore the island hasn’t come back yet and it is up to you to find out what is the reason!
And unlike Bilbiza Island, you may not want to stay sunbathing for too long.

This island is the favorite playground for players between level 115 and 135 and will be the link between Chillberg Island and Wabbit Island.

Cactus, Cactus everywhere

Arriving to Saharash Island will not be that easy. Indeed, the island will offer a main quest consisting of two chapters.

Each of these chapters will allow you to visit an area with its own Clan Member and its own ecosystem. Of course, you'll also come face to face with two families of monsters, each including between four and five new enemies.

Just like for Wabbit Island, the conclusion of this quest will take you through a Temple that will give you access to a mysterious artifact.

And if you still didn’t eat enough sand by then, four environmental quests per area shall fill you up.

Note that the island will be divided into two areas, with the first area available starting March 18th, and the second area on April 4th.

Haaaaaaaardcore!

Let’s not forget to mention the existence of one dungeon per area and especially: the introduction of the "Hardcore" mode.

Both dungeons of Saharash Island will operate as normal, but we will give the opportunity to the more experienced players to relive it in a more difficult version.

This will result in several changes:
  • Increased difficulty
  • Experience gain increased
  • Drop rate doubled on all the Boss resources
  • Drop rate doubled on all mythical and legendary items from the family of monsters and the Boss

Please note that there will be no drop of rare resources or rare items (green) from the family of monsters, no rare item or key drop from the Boss. These resources and items will be obtained only by doing the dungeons in their "classic mode" difficulty version or from the monsters present in the ecosystem.

A few more grains of sand

And if you need a break between battles to increase your profession level or re decorating your Haven Bag, rest assured you will not be set aside!

Saharash in a few important numbers is:
  • 1 Artifact
  • 1 Costume
  • More than a dozen of decorations
  • 30 new resources
  • 30 new crafts
  • 30 new equipment items

This new island will still reserves you many surprises. We look forward in seeing you discover it in a few weeks!

Happy Birthday WAKFU!

Thank you everyone for you continuous support in the last two years of WAKFU and beyond (Beta) during all the ups and downs and helping us make WAKFU what it is today.

I have so many great memories that I can't believe it's been 2 years already.

To answer your questions about the combat xp stackable this weekend: Yes, it does stack with Mea Culpa and the experience bonus for secondary characters.

So get in-game because it has already started for Remington! Nox will start next at 3:00 PM PST / 6:00 PM EST / 11:00 PM GMT!

[Completed] Beta Server Update 28/02/14 Hi everyone,

We are going to have a Beta server update on Friday 28th of February 2014 starting at:

10 AM GMT / 5 AM EST / 2 AM PST.

We will also use this occasion to import your characters (28/02 00:01), therefore the maintenance will be longer than usual (approximately 3-4 hours).

Here are the changes that will be implemented:

  • The area 2 Saharash boss (only the boss, not the area) will be testable: a teleport scroll will be available in the machine placed next to the Almanax Temple.
  • Rebalancing of the Tormentor Pit dungeon:

- The Resurrection spell will raise two monsters instead of one. The amount of resurrected monsters will be limited to 4.

    - The start placement of the monsters will be changed.

      - The Hitpoints base of the level 100 boss will be changed from 9000 to 12000, although the Ultimate Sacrifice passive will give 5% of current HP instead of 10%.

      - The range of the Torment spell will be increased by 6.

      - The HP of the Incantation Portal will increase from 2000 to 3000 at level 100.

      - The resistance increment of the Tormentor will be increased (base/100 x1.5 instead of x1).

      - The resistance increment of the Shushu monsters will be increased (base/100 x2 instead of x1).

      - Heals from the Tormented Pack will no longer work if the damage dealer is the same as the receiving target (Orb Armor).

              • New exploration areas: the available game artifacts (Bwork Scepter and Bow) will allow you to access new areas of the game that will contain Kamas chests... But we will not tell you more about this!
              • New Passport tab listing artifacts (see previous point) will be added.
              • Whirly Dungeon: the teleporter that allows you to go to room #2 from room #1 will be moved.
              • Feca: limitation of Teleportation Flux will be fixed.

[Resolved] Beta Maintenance - 21.02.2014 Hi everyone,

The Beta server had a maintenance in order to update it, which has been completed.

An important modification was implemented on top of adding the new area: Saharash Island:

              • The bonus to all element damage will always be taken into account when calculating healing.

The following changes will not be right away seen on the Beta server but will eventually be implemented:

Following the damage modification influencing healing, Relics will loose their free healing bonus, the following items will be also modified:
              • Gray Mage's Wand: -18% Heals +56 HP
              • Imperial Healer Epaulettes: -15% Heals +10 PP + 2% CH
              • Tijeebon Mallet: -10% Heals

Some balancing on class spells linked to damage and healing will also take place.

Thank you for your patience during this maintenance and for your participation in the Beta server.

              Mini map?

The team has decided to work longer on it, as fixing it with the hotfix today could have had an impact on other game elements, so it will be fixed still, but at a later time to make sure that it is properly done.

Sabi..why can't we walk normally in fights too? why did they remove that? Can't they ask their subscribers first?

The team has thought about it deeply and decided that while characters have a need to walk when out of combat, the need to bring more dynamism to combat makes it better for us to keep the characters able to run only when in combat.

              • A Roaring Trade in Well-Guawded Seeds: This Hunter quest will be triggered by talking to Valentin Fay.
              • A Roaring Trade in Gobball Totems: This quest will be modified, it will now ask to bring Wild Wool. Its name will be changed to: A Roaring Trade in Wild Wool.

              Items

              • Costume: Costumes will be a priority again over the Insignias. Althought this fix isn't global and some of the costumes may still remain under the insignia.
              • Tormentor Costume: It will have the correct visual on a female character.

              Interface

              • Inventory: A right click on stacked items will no longer change the quantity to 1.
