This is a simple one: change the mines' current explicit bonus to chances of lowering MP and causing Broken status to a generic bonus to apply all states. Because generics are usually better and friendlier than specifics in this case. I've been playing around a bit more with the new stat system, and I have to admit: I like the changes to wisdom, prospecting. In case you didn't notice, they now give you bonuses to AP loss and MP loss chance/resistance. Which is great.
