I fail to see why Ankama is being consistently blamed.

While I do not agree with the notion of a rollback, not having one would cause an in-game economical disaster.

How about everyone starts pointing their finger at the VERY LARGE number of players who abused the exploits over and over, causing Ankama to take this action.

Some food for thought.

And keep the messages polite, outright abusive posts are being removed.

Well, we'd like to point finger to these players. And see them ALL permabanned, even if its "very large" number. But how do you think we can do that? Ankama will never tell any names, we'll never knew if people really get banned, and these who abused the glitch from 2nd may will just laught to us... When i see how many levels the top 10 guilds lost with rollback (and it was in fact just 1 day rollback), its pretty safe bet huge part of these exp came from the bug. Why i dont see them banned today?

And thats the true "economical disaster", because whats the point to play a game, when cheaters always go free? This is the true reason to quit, not some rollback, shit happens, but the way Ankama dealt with it just stinks.

That said, I don't know who cheated and I don't know how they did that, I don't care about their names and I don't care about their method. Although, I want Ankama to make sure who caused disease to the whole community pay for their mistakes.
I'd like to point out a couple things that should be done to avoid those players preparing other accounts to dodge the ban/sanctions while "Cheaters are being tracked".

  • Make an IP check on the cheaters account, see if they traded any item to another account with the same IP right after the rollback, and if so, transfer the items which have been traded back to the sanctioned character's account.
  • Still IP check, and see if they start a new character right after the maintenance and use their main (About to be banned character) to Power-level it, an IP check is pretty easy to do.

I'm not trying to teach anyone how to do his job, I just want to make sure everyone knows how easy is to limit the damage a ban can cause to a player through self-leveling and self-trading.

Lastly, I'd really like to see a list of the banned/sanctioned players after you're done with that. Not because I care about their identities, but because the company would show us they're actually sanctioning the abusers.
Saying "Cheaters have been sanctioned" doesn't really show us what Ankama did to sanction the Cheaters, nor how.

Kind regards,

-Lindel

Well, they never did this in Dofus. Why do you think this will change in Wakfu? :-( Its not so hard to use logs tracking all transactions, and hire at least one dedicated employee only to solve frauds/thefts etc. But Ankama just have enough customers from France, so they dont give a fuck about negative international publicity... Even free games have better GM/support.

Why do people don't realize that the abusers can be rid off without a rollback needed.
It is way better to ban the abusers and delete items earned from exploits than remove gameplay time from people who have done nothing wrong and have made great progress within the time the rollback is supposed to cover.

Because Anakma have long history of such decisions from Dofus. And somehow it always emerged years later that it was all lies, or maybe they were just simply unable to track down all people, who had some profit from bug exploits. Like when there was smithmaging bug allowing mage anything without limits, items were deleted, users banned, and few years later there is the new ladder, security reset to default show all character equip - and boom, there are now users visible using the "deleted" equip.

I dont know how the +gazillion wisdom from guild insignia works, but unless they are 100% sure they can permaban everyone who used it - rollback to 2nd May is the only fair solution to others... even if it will hurt huge number of players.

i really hope everyone abusing it will get ban too, at all of their accounts/IP's, especially if this will end with rollback for everyone else

Candles are irrelevant now. The altar is new.

Fun fact: A guildmate just told me now everyone is standing in front of dungeon waiting for it to open, but nobody actually donates the seeds. Nice experiment on human behaviour.

Fun fact #2: these people staying in front of dungeon have thousands of seeds. But people with knowledge of altar location dont wanna share it, they prefer wait till we'll explore the map. Nice experiment about human stupidity.

Jeweller lvl 90 I craft for free - well, almost free! :-) 10k for anything that gives me exp, which covers my suicide/zaap (i prefer working at the Brakmar Scara Pass workshop, just under the zaap). 25k for anything that doest give me exp anymore, that cover suicide, zaaps and my overall laziness.

you can only find new ores (but i have no idea about 65-70 level ones, as old regions doesnt have any new spawns)

for all other harvesting profesion, you must buy the cuttings first, for tokens from challenges in the pub basement
sounds fair, as they'd be extinct by the first players loged in anyway :-)

We don't know if there's 1 week cooldown, it's just your guess, so calm down.

Point is, there is no way to determine whats the cooldown, so unless you are camping the entrance 24/7, you have no chance to try this dungeon. And thats wrong for sure, at least NPC could give you some info. The 2 minute countdown to dungeon is bugged aswell, its not open long enough to run from zaap to the entrance - but may be different for everyone, i was running there with another char, door already closed, so i reloged to another to move it there for next try, and magicaly he got bonus 10s to enter...

I just logged in on Monk Island this and apperently someone knows how to open it, because the dungeon opened few times in like 10 minutes already.

The weird thing is that the dungeon is closed again, before the timer even reaches 0.

@up or that

AFAIK it opened 3 times, in short periods, now candles dont work again, so we are probably on cooldown... to the next maintenance?

dungon is super easy, i'm pretty sure air cra can solo it, any full group will kill boss 1st turn for sure

But several guilds know how to open it lawl.

Just because there were some random openings doesnt mean "they know how".

Obviously they dont know how to do that on regular basis, as there would be already drops available, pieces of set visible, and we dont see anyone running there - as there is always someone at the island, so you cant really do that silently and prevent other "random" people run through the gate, even if you have the know-how.

IMHO it will be just something very easy (like lit everything, no particular order), but dungeon cooldown is killing the succesfull attempts...
