I'm still levelling my Osa... So I've not got high enough to capture anything past 20 yet.

But is there nothing we can tame past level 20?

What I mean by; by-the-level progression:
It is simple really, every level you gain a small amount of progression in your chosen build. This keeps players always feeling like their class is actually going somewhere. Especially when compared to the current system, which actually spaces build progression further and further away from each point the more you put into it. Meaning you inevitably end up waiting 50+ levels for some support skill levels.

Putting points into your stats doesn't count because it doesn't essentially effect your gameplay. It is no different from finding a new piece of gear.

This might be a good idea, but it's not gonna work with just 10 skills. In fact, for 200 levels that would mean a LOT more skills...so i somehow doubt ankama would take this as a viable plan, they're having a hard enough time with 10

Most support skills already have a rather large progression jump per skill level up...

It wouldn't take much to spread a lot of that out and instead of it being a sudden upgrade after 30 levels of waiting, being one that gradually builds up over time.

It would also give them the oppertunity to create multiple builds within each support skill if they so wished.

I think they're still getting it wrong.

Look at it not from a high-level balance perspective, but from an attracting-customers perspective, and that's one reason I think this whole "skill rebalancing" was a mistake (in execution, not in theory). Better that the low-level game be a little too easy (and attract more new players) and the high-level game harder (when the players are already committed and are looking for new challenges) than the other way around... but the latter is what they just did. Worse, they did it in a game that has no high-level play yet.

Sure, there are always gamers who don't mind or even crave a challenge right from the very start, but they're not the majority (they're often the most vocal, but they're still not the majority). So there might be a few thousand hardcore gamers who just love their MMOs difficult and slow-moving right from the start, because they love to overcome a challenge, but Ankama needs to get a few hundred thousand players committed to the game for years in order to turn a profit (if not more - as I said, they're way behind schedule), so they need to turn it down a notch or two (or three or ten) for starting players. Faster level gains, faster skill gains (both elementary XP and skill points), higher item drop rates (especially on the Piwi, Googoo, and Adventurer Set pieces) - just faster progress in general - for low-level characters is needed to attract those new players to the game after the first few months, once the New MMO Smell has worn off.

So while I absolutely understand why they don't want to to max too many skills too early, and I completely agree with the idea that players shouldn't be able to max every support skill, and I completely agree with the idea that players shouldn't run out of skills to max at high levels, I still think that they've gone overboard in the other direction, spreading the rewards too far apart at low level in order to speed them up during the literally non-existent endgame.

I really just hope someone from Ankama is reading this (by which I mean everyone's comments on the EN forum, not just mine) and taking notes. Zidrune? Are you out there?

This touches on my thoughts but I just want to expand on it a little.

Firstly: What kind of player starts a new game and immediately thinks about their build in 200 levels time, which at best is several weeks/months of play away. This is a great way to drag people out of the fun and remind them that "Hey your class doesn't have much potential for the next 200 levels, get grinding."

Secondly: This game greatly lacks gradual progression. Even more so now the support skills have become so expensive. Despite my overall dislike for blizzards mmo practices of late. There is no denying that their talent system is an ingenious way of not only allowing progress on a by-the-level basis but also allows you to think ahead and prepare for maximum level.
The solution is very simple, the old system and this new system need to be utterly scrapped and a by-the-level build progression system needs to replace it. And it doesn't need to be a talent system but heck it is a good example of where it is done right.

The current system is basically just a dull barely functional means to end.

What I mean by; by-the-level progression:
It is simple really, every level you gain a small amount of progression in your chosen build. This keeps players always feeling like their class is actually going somewhere. Especially when compared to the current system, which actually spaces build progression further and further away from each point the more you put into it. There isn't one and if u check the main page there is shop section with will be added later and points near ur account ,but they might add subscription for vip full access to restriction ,this is a f2p.
roflmao... no...

The points have been in since Dofus and are an alternative way of buying your subscription to Dofus. The shop is for purchasing actual merchandise as Ankama are more than just an MMO publisher.

I'd imagine the game will go freemium due to the huge success of Dofus using that system.

Hello I am not fluently in english but i do play with our loved Enutrofs too, I am an earth enu in the moment and i realize one thing...

When i was fighint with a Whit Gobbly, the White Sobber(?) take 1ap from me, anyway i use my drhellzerker spell and during the whole fight i just have 8ap instead of 9... idk if im right but the description of the spell says: Transform all AP in MP. If i got a bonus AP in the turn of my transformation i would have 10mp the whole fight?

Maybe, need to be tested.

EDIT*: Tested! i waited the Bonus Phase when you get 2 extra ap and used my transformation with 8ap in total, I spent the rest of the battle with 11pm in the drhellzerker form! add this to the guide please

EDIT²: btw... i cant see any good change in leveling Drheller Call/Phone a Frhend. Just the appearence.

Edit 1:
Is there a chance you could screenshot this for me? That'd be awesome...
Just screenshot the turn before the bonus, the turn you get the bonus after you have transformed and then the turn after that.
I would test it myself but sadly I can't play at the moment.

Edit 2:
Those were listed in earth mainly because of how their hardest hitting spell, Shovel Shaker works when not in the Drhellzerker form. But also because nothing is more annoying than spawning a Drheller with the intention of transforming and something kills it in one turn.
There is some usage for the Drheller with all three branches... Fire it can create mines for you, Water it can loot bags for you and Earth it can trigger Shovel Shakers second attack and lets you take the Drhellzerker form. And for all three it can act as a combat pet.

Cash shops are designed to milk the playerbase as much as possible in their chosen field while alienating players who aren't willing to pay up.

While cash shop based games might be more profitable... They have a much much smaller player base overall, mainly because the nature of the cash shop system drives players away.

With a subscription or freemium based MMO the dev's are driven by the desire to create new content that interests their subscribers.
But with a cash shop based game, all they have to do to acquire profit is focus on is adding more methods of milking their playerbase. Content becomes second place because it is no longer the driving factor to their profit margin.

Like most things in life, you get what you pay for... With a subscription/freemium you directly pay for regular content and with a cash shop you pay for tiny fragments of the game at extortionate prices...

well i think they will ruined the game with p2p like they done with dofus coz people like me a dont have a job im not living off my mum so i cant p2p so i always play f2p games and with dofus u are practically restricted to incarnam and astrub city and every thing else is p2p so u need to stay on the noob aria which is crappy so i would play open beta as much as possible the now.

To be brutally blunt... Oh well...

There is no such thing as a free 2 play game...

Looking at this video

I've got to ask, why did they change the game so much? Honestly Wakfu a year ago looked so much better, the ground was more subtle in it's grid approach, the combat HUD was actually more clean and Incarnum actually looked useful. Hell, Incarnam in that video actually looks like it gave you direction and alot more information than the current one does, not to mention it looks alot more interactive and aesthetically better.

So really, why did Ankama change Wakfu so much?

While I am sure the official reasoning is lost in the french forum somewhere...

I imagine they hit a wall that their previous game couldn't cross and in order to continue with their idea they had to utterly remake the game with an entirely new engine.

Sadly Wakfu v3 feels like it has less soul than v2...

Quote
I must say first location in ond Wakfu version looks much better than now. It's not so flat and boring. And even Pandawa Temple is better. Seriously... why they changed that?

It's like any creation that is remade from scratch...

Inevitably they ended up improving on everything they did the first time, but in the process they cut out all the needless yet fun and pretty parts of the world, that made Wakfu such a great fantasy world. (For example the class temples in v2)

v3 has been trimmed down to be a very efficient game, but it suffers as a magical fantasy world because of it.

My take on Crafting. Crafting right now has many flaws... These are a few I have become aware of and my possible solutions to them. In the small hope that someone from Ankama's team actually reads this.

The first and foremost being that it's the run of the mill, boring collect mats, click button, production line crafting system with zero soul and zero fun.
The second being that you need to make so many items to level up your crafting, that the market will be swamped with crafting gear... Making it utterly worthless.
The third and final one that comes to mind is that crafting items are just carry-overs until someone finds what they really want from a monster.

My solutions to each...
1. Ankama need to make their own unique, actually interesting and fun crafting system... This system doesn't work for WoW, it doesn't work for Rift, it doesn't work for Aion and it doesn't work here either... It is dull and lazy and sadly a big disappointment.
2. Increase the requirements to make items, triple the exp gained from crafting them. This will insure there are less items in the market from people just levelling up and give worth to the items overall.
3. I'm sure plenty of other people have had ideas for this...
However my one to add to the arena is this: Make it so that crafters can make all the monster drops in game, then make it so that monster drop items and crafting items are twins that can be merged for a stronger ultimate version. For example you craft a Red Piwi Cloak and find a Red Piwi Cloak on an enemy, then combine them to get a superior form of the Red Piwi Cloak.
This system insures that crafting will always be relevant, while not taking away the value from monster drops.

No need to put that IF in there, new server is coming with the new patch (planned by the end of May)
We had official confirmation? Great.

English guild already has couple of 60+ members, and Amakna Governor is i believe around 70, maybe more by now...I would say 70-80 is the range of the 3 highest lvls.
Poor snoofles...

Sigh....Click here (It is Zidrune's interview, so i take it official)

As a matter of fact, their primary leveling mobs (and by primary i mean 95%) are bandits.....Others include crows, but out of 140 of our members, i haven't seen more than 3 leveling on snoofles....

There is no mention of an international server in this question or answer as far as I can tell... And since I cannot find any other question relating to servers you must be referring to this:

Q (Xprey) : Un ou plusieurs nouveaux serveurs en plus sont ils prévus pour l'OB de demain ?
R : Aucun nouveau serveur pour l'Open Bêta de demain, mais nous avons déjà préparé le terrain.

While yes I grant that this says the ground has been set for more servers to come. LegendPop specifically asked about an international server and that was what I was addressing.
For all we know the next might be a second French server... Or ten new servers of varied languages... Without official information, it is simply assumption.

So, first of all I thought Wakfu was released long ago so how come its still in beta stages?
Nope, you thought wrong... It has been in open beta before, however the game was remade from scratch after that open beta.

Quote
2ndly anyone know when the full release comes out?
Of course not...

Quote
3rd, can you become a hybrd or must you follow one single element?
Depends on the implication of the word "must" in this sentence...
No... nothing is stopping you from being a three-element n00b.

Quote
4th, when is there going to be an internation server?
We don't even know IF there will be one... It is assumed there shall be one eventually based on Ankama's actions with Dofus... No official information means we don't know.

Quote
5th, will this game ever become pay to play?
It will hopefully and most likely use the Dofus style freemium system... Where the first areas are free to play but to see the whole world you must pay a very low subscription.

Quote
6th and final, whats the highest lvl you can get to, and whats the current highest lvl?
200 in the final release (apparently)
100 in the beta...
And how would we know the highest level player? It's not like there is a searchable player database yet.
At a personal guess... Around level 60... Since there are no decent ways to level past 50 in the beta yet.

Sorry to waste a thread but I wasn't having much luck.

Well, this is my first day on the game... So I'm only lvl 15, if this post is a day old, I'll probably be 20+.

I played Dofus for about 5 years, on Rushu and Shika but I know pretty much nothing about Wakfu.

One thing they do right is if you block someone you block account and all its characters on it (wich is how it should be) , to bad it doesnt work.

The idiots that buy from these guys are going to kick themselves when the next wipe happens.

Still you've got to be pretty stupid to begin with to actually buy currency in an MMO.

Maybe Chrage is not Charge+rage, it just a pum of the word "Charge" alone XD.

Maybe the fact is makes"rage" has something to do with it too, or could also be Chi (spiritual energy)+rage

It functions like a charge and they are berserker... Charge and Rage fit fine.
No doubt it'll get an entirely different english name anyway.
