My crafting experience is based on the one from beta, yes they've changed it a lot and there are a lot more useful stuff now (set items now can be crafted). So this monk dungeon puzzle is really trying to be 'clever' but fails miserably, to me it seems Ankama just wants this monk island to last longer so they have more time to prepare the upcoming new content. This is not a bad intention though, just a very cheeky way of achieving it. Here's what I think about the dungeon puzzle:
The game expects a theory for opening the dungeon to somehow materialize without giving the players a clear 'start here', and for players who are confident enough about their theories, they will need to execute it, but the game again, presents no milestone to encourage players who are on the right track, or to signal players who are just doing it wrong. So from a game design point of view, there is a gap, you either make it to the other side or you don't, giving players the impression that the game simply doesn't care whether we unlock the dungeon or not.
Of course this is just my opinion of the game, but the fact is: nobody seems to be enjoying their endeavour to unlocking this puzzle. And this fact, in my opinion, justifies my statement: This is bad game design.
I do totally agree with you my friend. Even further I can say that your explanation enlightens much more us than a official explanation.
Anyway I want to add just that how long the devs or whoever is responsible about a balance system in this game will be ignorant like this. Fire element is like the god in the game specially the gap between air iop and fire iop and how pathetic became earth element and air element users. If you want to a puzzle or any riddle thing to this game just put another achievement for it dont put an important set that is needed by many air users out there. You dont give chance to use a good set when its the most needed while climbing from zero to hundred but you give in the end and let alone that you put it behind an absurd puzzle idea.
I was thinking that a puzzle idea would be great to this game but this is way absurdity and nonsense.
I am an air iop and thats the only character I enjoy playing in this game I am almost level 90 if this element stupidity continues that leaves me no reason to play this... And this is not a whining nor threat I am no one to threat a big company nor a kid to whine. All I am saying is there wont be any reason to play this game for me since I am becoming more useless in every patch and in this part you can care or not it is up you just as it is up to me playing or not.
