Feels too much like support
posté November 03, 2008, 09:33:40 | #1
Feels too much like support Fecas in Dofus were quite malleable in the fact that they could go from supporting to frontline fighting almost immediately.

But with the rather feeble damage, and the fact that a rejuvinating glyph is much more loved than a white hot glyph in groups, it feels like Fecas have been tailored to be completely supporting classes now.

You mention attack and support but where's tank? Consider the fact that as a tank you are no longer totally eclipsed by sacriers since your mitigation abilities are percent based and sacs dont uber buff?

Quick flip through the spells (ignoring support, and glyphs):

Electric Shock: 2AP, RA3. -23 damage, with DoT.
-Compared to- Flagellation (Sac): 2AP, RA1. 2Cell Line AoE, -24 damage to the caster, and then -12 and -36 to each cell.
Flagellation's extra 24 damage & AoE costs 2RA, DoT and an equal amount of damage to the caster.

Lightning Strike: 3AP, RA8. -33 damage.
-compared to- Frenzy (Sac): 3AP, RA1. -45 damage.
Frenzy's extra 12 damage costs 7RA.

Cloudy Attack: 5AP, RA3-5. -77 damage.
-compared to- Powerful Strike (Panda): 5AP, RA1. -45 damage.
I'm not even sure why Powerful Strike is so rubbish in comparison... gonna have to recheck that skill.

Earth Blade: 4AP, RA3. -34 damage, bleeding.
-compared to- Gouging (Sac): 4AP, RA1. -36 damage, blindness.
Gouging's extra 2 damage and blindness, costs it bleeding and 2 RA.

Pulverization: 4AP, RA2. -34 damage, 25% earth weakness.
-compared to- Crab Pincer (Osa): 4AP, RA1. -46 damage, 25% earth weakness on crit.
Crab Pincer's 12 damage costs it a regular earth weakness effect.

Grasping Earth: 6AP, RA1. -88 damage, hinderance.
-compared to-Impalement (Sac): 6AP, RA1. -68 damage, hinderance.
Impalement loses 20 damage.

Breaker: 5AP, RA1. -51 damage.
-compared to- Powerful Strike (Panda): 5AP, RA1. -45 damage.
Powerful Strike is rubbish in comparison again... really really gonna have to recheck that skill.

Bubble: 4AP, RA3-7. -45 damage.
-compared to-Sacrier's Foot (Sac): 4AP, RA1. -47 damage.
Sacrier's Foot's extra 2 damage and 2RA-shorter minimum range costs it 5RA.

Ocean Blade: 6AP, RA2-4. -34 damage, suffocation (4 turn).
-compared to- Drowning (Panda): 6AP, RA1-1, Drunk. -33, suffocation (1 turn)
Drowning's 1RA-less min range costs it 3 turns of suffocation, 2RA, a Drunk-only restriction.

Edit: Turns out Powerful Strike (a.k.a. Pandawa Suplex) may have a forced teleport effect, similar to Assault (short range ability to move a target), though it's unconfirmed. If true, It may be better than Breaker, still not quite up to cloudy Attack.

Oh Goldfish, how I missed thee~ <3

Basing that purely on numbers, fecas look like a stronger class, but in groups they feel so much like support it's ridiculous. Plus, the shield takes too long to level up and is ineffective for most of the start of the fecas' life, when they can be overlooked for a sac-eni combo. (And that combo is much more likely to live, too!)

As soon as Electric Shock hits 2 turn duration it start to do some considerable damage. I use it with the Earth Absorb shield. I can kill a group of 4 creatures my level.

Also electric shock does 1 damage to the creature every turn until and including its own. So vs 3 creatures at my level its 9-12 damage x3 x3 x2 x1 so 81 - 108. Not horrible for level 20 imo.

Oh and I forgot to mention that if you use it more than once against a target and it crits for one of the hits there are two damage over time effects applied.

I know what you mean about them being basically a support class, although soloing is still nice as they are still a really strong class. I just wished some glyphs were a bit more similar to the ones from dofus.

Magical Defence is right.
