Stuff and Nonsense, How not to conduct a campaign

Stuff and Nonsense Okay, this is frankly making some of even the most corrupt real-world governments look legitimate and well mannered.

Baseless accusations of candidates multi-accounting, accusing them of attacking other players, assaulting other players, multi-accounting yourself, accusing people of being racist, etc is NOT going to make yourself look any better than them.

Do not do it on the forum, and you shouldn't really do it in the game if you want to win (since you can't actually force someone's hand onto the "vote" button that matches your candidate)

It's one thing to multi-account (which I thought was against the rules until yesterday) but I was attacked twice by one candidate's friend for promoting a different candidate. Aggression has gone down since the Violence law was introduced, but there is just way too much pressure put on players to vote for a certain candidate. Also, how does one acquire more money than is in the treasury for his personal account without multi-accounting?

Yes, I am very into politics and actively helping promote my candidate without attacking people or getting paid.

Reason for edit : removed names specific to last election to reduce issues for the next election

This is why I said "baseless". I'm inclined to be more lenient if people started showing screenshots of voter-abuse (think of it as investigative journalism bringing up proof of said "abuse").

posts which are basically "you're a racist puppet-account of that guy!!!" are not going to be tolerated.

Please dont tell me no one expected this, game designers?...no?... really? You bring a system that encourages a popularity contest and don't expect flaming and abuse to be hurled around?

Give anyone a chance to belittle others beneath the anonymity of the internet and they will...

I think conflict is inherent in all democratic systems, the forums provide an open ground for free speech and discussion. If everyone couldn't express their opinions then it wouldn't be a democracy -- no-one has of yet said that any candidate has no right to run so I don't think there's that serious an issue. But then again the forum moderators word is final.

You should totally implement riots into the political system, that'd make it much more civil and humane. Oh wait...
