Resources storage [Troyle, got time to read?]


Since this message was posted almost 2 weeks ago I've been wondering about how much storage space they would be offering or how they would offer it.

I wonder if Troyle can also offer suggestions to the team or (what I read from him somewhere) that the team actually looks here itself.

Right now I have almost every type of wood and ore in my inventory/chest/displays and am also getting quite a big amount of flowers since after leveling lumberjack and miner I've started leveling herbalist.
Which means I'm wondering a lot if the storage space they are going to provide will be able to have slots for every type of resource.

One thing that I thought might be a good idea (not sure if the developers have thought of it) is that the new storage space would have slots that need to be unlocked (the same way a lot of other different tools etc need to be unlocked in Wakfu by putting resources in them).
To unlock a slot you would need to put 100 items of that same type into it to unlock it, so if you for instance would want to store Ash (or any other type) Wood in your new storage you would first need to put 100 Ash Wood into it to "unlock" it.
Sure, the total cost of unlocking the full potency of the storage would be big but what you would be able to do with it afterwards would be worth the price.

Another point, this covers just the "basic" resources (wood, ore, flowers, fish?) but what about seeds? Would they also be able to be stored? What about the special kinds of resources? Since right now the special resources are giving me a hard time since I'm almost out of space (I want to keep them, would they ever become useful).

So... If I want to store dark purple in that part of my chest, first I need to unlock it with 100 dark purple?
That's around 70,000 kamas, with the fall in prices of dp... Bad, very bad idea.

I'd support it if this area of the chest came with a similar "recipe" to "repair" like the machines have around the trade bridges and nations, where a certain amount of resources and kamas need to be deposited to make this function available.

yeah, i sugested something similar as a buy/craft item myself a while back.

(to the 100 of an item part. though it was actualy that a crafter needed to use that sort of amount to craft the drawer for the storage item lol)

personaly i want a storage box for each craft and gathering prof.
im willing to buy it for kama's from a crafter, im willing to pay for it via Ogrines at the Store and im willing for it to be a quest item that you have to do craft/gathering related quests to get.

what i am not willing to do, is find it as ether a) a high level only drop via a dungeon
or b) only available as a reward to high level players like with the garden gem quest (high compared to my char that needs the storage i mean)

i would be content with the items being one only (ie classed as unique item) per character when bought via kamas or ogrines.
i would also be content with the crafted version becomming soulbound (ie tied to that specific character) when used, and be ruled as only 1 per character for sale via the auctions. and you could only hold one at a time ether. to stop players haording them then selling in one go when there is a shortage.

i would have been satisfied with 999 of each item, provided i could store them without being taxed. i have no intentio of selling my stored items, i am storing them for storage sake (seeds, saplings and herbs) so i want a storage solution that is just for storage, not to sell from lol

Isn't dark purple a drop? Since the message said "resources" I guessed that there wouldn't be extra storage space for drops.




So I guess the reason why we didn't have a lot of storage space to begin with was because of how the code was written and storing and transferring a lot of data would give the servers a hard time.

Well, I'm still looking forward to what they'll release since every extra space that we can get is nice.

@Silverbane, since they know this is really going to be for storage I doubt they would add tax or anything. It also says an ikiakit will have to be created and you can't sell items from your chest.

right. see, i have never used an ikalit XD
(as a level 11, im pretymuch locked out of useage of those type of items you see)

i still would like to see some craftable storage solutions for the haven bag though. and again, im still content to have ones that can be bought in the Store (for ogrines....for those with low wait threshoulds)
could be crafted by master crafters and sold one at a time at teh auction, and ones that could be gained by a crafting and gathering quest.

perhaps they could create a special pet storage facility, where you can store you pets, but its actual data is stored off the server. kinda like how (in certain other games *cough* wow *cough*) they have seperate log in servers that are connected to the main server. i know they are seperate becasue sometimes the log in goes down, but the servers are up and as long as you dont log out or try to swap characters, yo can play lol.

see, i have a feeling such an ikalit items going to be WAY out of my reach. via level or price
