An idea for people who dislike PvP
posté June 16, 2012, 21:39:51 | #1
An idea for people who dislike PvP I was thinking, we have an issue where people getting attacked during wars and i agree, people who dont want to pvp shouldn't be dragged into it.

So i was thinking, Suffokia, thats a quiet little nation no one really hears much from, they dont join the war. could we not come to some kind of server agreement that Suffokia could be a nation for PvE players, that never goes to war, this way people would have a safe place to go and it would help the nation populate.

What do you think guys?

no!

sorry but this a sandbox games, one of my favorite features is pvp everywhere.

i dont support a pve nation neither a option to turn pvp on and off.

do craft or something else on weekends.

well at least when i'm crafting i'm semi-afk so i dont care if i die.

anyways, you always have to option too logout and play other games.

you dont lose anything by bieng killed here not like other sandbox with full loot sytem.

Its still the simple fact people enjoy playing the game but not everyone likes pvp, theres always PvE only players, they shoudnt be dragged into pvp when they dont want to or forced out the game cus some people like to murder everyone they see

Simply.

No.

I'm sure there's at least one Sufokian out there that loves to PvP as well. Simply saying "Hey! This nation is small! Therefore, it should becomes PvE only and stay out of PvP!" is just selfish.

If the "PvE-only" person wishes to avoid wars, he/she simply has to avoid playing during the war time.

Nyeheh~

Well as long as we keep having decent governments then Sufokia won't get into wars anyway. Either way it's not something for the people on the forum to decide. Sufokians decide what Sufokia does.

well, fist i think they do say this is a sandbox game,i mean if you now this is a sandbox you wont be surprised that you get killed.

i love the felling of fear during the war.

and well woundt be a war if you could simple "Turn PVP Off"

"Sandbox" doesn't have anything to do with PvP, neither in a positive nor negative sense. An example for a non-PvP sandbox game is "A Tale in the Desert".
Not really an MMORPG (played on a server with 500 people online, though), but Minecraft with PvP turned off is still sandbox as well.

Personally, I do appreciate free environments that include open PvP as well as those that do not include open PvP. Both paradigms have their agreeable strong points. I know I could live with and even appreciate wartime-only PvP, even open PvP (there are limits to what I am willing to bear, though).

Can I turn of PvP in real life? Its so annoying when somebody beats you up and takes you money.

i know, but one of the best features any sandbox can have ,is pvp all the time.

sandbox games always want to be something more them just Online RPG,well having pvp on all time make you fear other, want allys, looks for safe spots, dont mess or even bother people cause you may get killed.

I hate one thing about wakfu.
Here are 4 nations.
Question is, Why?
Two nations with war each other are the best way...
Guards will defend their own country...
More fun, then 4 nations...

the current PVP system Promotes Cyber bullying (and Cyber bullying is against the law in the UK , dont know about other countries) when a Person forces dominance over another, the Victim looses confidence and this could lead to depression (you dont know whats going on in that persons life) just because its a game it does not mean there is no Bullying involved, and i disagree with that completely

(thats also why i started that brakmar guards system)

i dont think killing someone on a game is bullying..
danm if that is bullying, well is best stop playing games at all, like in real life someone is messing if you and you cant handle it,call the cops, friends, family, some randon guy on the street dont know.

all sandbox game with pvp24/7 is bullying? should close then all...

your not having fun on the game? do something else and come back latter.

I will say i am not too fussed on pvp.. maybe because i am not a good class for it i dont know.. but there are alternatives.. you can stay behind the passport check things... i mean just go fight woolies for a while.. the other nations cannot cross it. It is annoying sometimes when you have a plan to come on and lvl your professions that day and then you are at war with the nation you need to gather from.. for example i make the koko top things to lvl my Armorer i gather the skeins of leather in bonta but then have no choice but to go to sof to gather the kokonuts.. it can be annoying when you plan to do it then they go to war so you cant..

But i will say that being randomly attacked ina war (unless you are in another nation) seems rare.. i have only really gotten into 2 or 3 fights pvp.. one when a lvl 80 odd was attacking low lvls (thats just pathetic) and the other when a random person attacked me.. but i am on alot so usually even going past the market.. or to the zaaps i dont usually have problems with getting aggroed.

People should use common sense and abit of well niceness when it comes to pvp.. if you see a new person in piwi.. gobball ect unless they attack you leave them alone.. i mean usually they are learning so attacking them is abit out of order.

As i sadi not a big pvp fan myself but i know others like it and i wouldnt wanna effect how they play so i understand that there needs to be wars to keep these people happy but much like i understand that they like pvp they should try to understand that there are others that dont like pvp and should try to understand them people too.

A reply to the OP

Basically the game to complex for such a simple solution to work
At present I do not think there is a epidermic of players being killed during times or war
Tip number 1 don't go to the market places

Also say we did implement you idea..who would be the easiest target for pvpers ?
Sufokia because most classes are either built for pve or pvp , my player is built for pve so I know that I am weaker in pvp as the same class, and they would beat me.

Imagine going to a nation and no one could beat you? So you have made the problem worse, the chances that you could get every single player to agree not to attack Sufokian's impossible

So we need to keep the mix, they most pvpers is every nation ( I hope)

One solution, how about a potion that last for 1 hour and can only be used once a day, and is only valid in your own nation, so if you switch nations you lose the potion.

What would the potion do while the potion is activated unable to be attacked by members of other nations but you could still be attacked by your own nation, which sometimes is needed because of your conduct.

What do you think ?

The only REAL sollution is if they impliment a system where, lets say if you wana pvp join the army and then you have the right to attack other members of other armys and if you attack citizans you loose CP. This would cut down random agros but its not our chice if this happens or not.

All im saying is that suffokia does not join in the war weekends and would be a great safe haven for people to stay out of these wars. govners generaly seem to be decent people and attacking allied nations will get you screwed over so im not saying its perfect but its the best thing i can think to help people who do not want to PvP
