Check list before deciding on spells
Step 1: Wear your full equipments and take note downs your spells' current levels.
Step 7: Take off all equipments, with all above in mind choose your spells wise
P.S.: Be sure to use all of your Wisdom Scrolls (e.g. 80 years of Wisdom) before allocating spell exp:
- Open the spell exp allocation window, check the amount of spell exp that you have.
- Use the smallest possible scroll. Check if the amount of spell exp increases
- If it does, continue to use up the rest.
- Else if it doesn't, stop and report this bug.

Post-patch note:This post is slightly outdated as I had written it before the patch completed. Many of you probably has finished assigning your spells so this post probably won't be much helpful to you either. Still, the idea of the post remains and it might be useful to you guys the next time a reset is initiated. Last recommendation = don't max out spells + do get secondary element spells for resistance.
After 3 hours, the new spell exp system will be implemented, together with a spell exp reset and stats reset. Everyone probably has in mind how you want to change your character, but here's a check list to make sure you make the best of what you have:
Step 1: Wear your full equipments and take note downs your spells' current levels.
Step 2: Think about possible equipments that you want to change to in the future and their associated spell level bonuses (e.g. +2 Air spell level), note that down too.
Step 3: Be reminded that your spells' levels cannot exceed your character's level. Think about the frequency of usage of spells that you are going to use and their possible progression at later levels to avoid maxing out one spell too fast. Relate the spell level bonuses noted down in Step 1 & 2 to this too.
Step 4: Think about one or more spells that seem useful to you for their utility but generate minimal damage and you don't wish your main elemental branch based on them (e.g. Rust, Whip). Leave that spell at level 0, but do unlock them with the least amount of exp (e.g. unlocking the 3rd spell with Spell 1 lvl 2, Spell 2 lvl 2 instead of Spell 1 lvl 4).
Step 5: Decide whether 1 or more levels of your strongest spell worth getting, or will it be more efficient to earn a dozen of levels for each spell of a different elemental branch for extra resistance bonus. If you decide to get more resistance, still leave the spells identified at Step 4 at level 0 because they will eventually level up later (unless you are already at very high or maxed level). All (other) spells of that secondary element are of the same level.
Step 6: If knowing all above, but you don't fully understand how this new spell exp system works, check out this thread.
