Crafting Calculators
posté May 16, 2012, 02:51:47 | #1
Crafting Calculators I'm looking for feedback on two calculators.
Please reply with any suggestions or bug reports.

Question: How long does it take each profession to craft one item?

6 second for most craft, I think.

Good calculator, but there's no option to specify whether your craft will give 100 base xp or, in the case of the baker's packs, 500xp.

Ty very much, kind sir!!!
Made my life much easier.

One thing that would be nice to be seen in there is the option to input not only lvl, but exp already gained in that lvl.
And to get from the reverse calculator if we are going to end up close to the next lvl or not. That can save a good ammount of materials.

I think the math is off. By my own calculations (which have been accurate this far) I would need to craft this recipe 1,164 times, but your calculator says it needs to be crafted 1,924 times.

I'm level 30, and I want to reach level 49 (yes, 49), using a level 20 recipe of Handyman. The recipe requires 3 items.

Send me a PM if you need help with the math, I probably won't find my way back to this thread without a reminder.

So far it seems accurate to me, but I never tested handyman. Need more feedback to figure this out.

I added what I know about experience gained to the wiki.

I changed something that i forgot about before and now it says:
1153 crafts and it will take 192 minute(s).

There's a chance my calculator was off by one with the level difference.
Still not exactly your result though.

Yeah, I think you got it right now - my calculations are usually off with a few extra crafts. I know exactly why, I just can't be bothered correcting it

It's still not absolutely precise.
Chef profession, from lvl 11 to lvl 20, receipe level 0 => 335 crafts were needed according to calculator. But in fact it wasn't enough.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Then it seems like its off in the wrong way now. Also there might be a bug with level 0. Try something higher next time if you get the chance and see how that works.

Edit: i changed the calc back for now, because it actually seems off now?

Click here says you need 241 crafts to reach level 20 and my old calculator said i need 240 so thats pretty accurate, but after this change it's really off. Any ideas Nilllii?

240 is what you would need for any crafting profession that is not Chef, Baker or Handyman. Chef/Baker needs 480+ (mine says 485 but I've already mentioned that it's slightly off).

Your calculator says 240 for "Other" professions and 481 for Chef, so for that it seems correct.

Oh, man... It was my calculation that was off by a level with the Handyman example. I'm so so sorry

I haven't been playing Wakfu for a while, are there any big changes that need to be done to the calc?

posté October 29, 2012, 09:35:49 | #17
If you're still checking this post, there will be some big changes on Tuesday, October 30th. As it hasn't happened yet I can't give you the details needed to actually modify the calculator, but they say recipes will give different amounts of experience based on how many resources are needed to complete the recipe.

Experience Upgrade
We have taken into account your comments concerning the problem of very difficult recipes which only earn you as much XP as simpler ones created in great number. This is the main reason why we have entirely revised the amount of XP given for completing recipes. Now, XP gained will depend directly on the recipe's difficulty.

Let's take a jeweler recipe for example:
* Recipe for 1 component requiring 10 ore = 100 XP.
* Recipe requiring 10 components, 20 droppable resources and 40 ore = 1,000 XP.
A recipe requiring several components could rake in up to 5,000 or 6,000 XP!

This means that, instead of making the same piece of equipment 50 times to earn one profession level, you could create, say, 30 components and make 2 or 3 pieces of equipment with them, which would earn you the same amount of XP.

On another note, a nice upgrade to the calculator would be if we could tell it how much experience we're currently donating to the guild, a value between 0-70%. If we craft something that gives only 1 experience when we donate 0%, that 1 experience will be donated to the guild if we change our donation to 70% (so the guild gets 1 and the crafter gets 0). If you need me to try out a few more case scenarios, give me a list and I'll see what I can do.

Since I don't play the game currently I would need someone to give me details for the changes.
