It's been a long time since they have even mentioned Wakfu DS as far as I know so i doubt it has anything to do with it ;...

yeah i agree... cause they say that is the wakfu mmo (i think that i read this some where), this happen to dofus too, for example in Brazil the company that takes care of it is "level-up", it works normally but when you pay for things you pay too lvl-up and the Brazilian official web site is at the lvl-up web site....

and Sega i totally agree with you i went out this weekend then when i came back BANG!!! i saw this lool x)

this means that ankama probably isnt going to be that little french company anymore they got as big company backing them up so im thinking there is going to be a much larger influence in japan and north America now plus im thinking this partnership will finally bring the anime to NA and also up the production time and the translation of the game

Why on earth would Square have french to english translators?

Publishers don't usually contribute to the development of content. Any contribution a publisher has on production time is generally along the lines of "Hurry up or we're pulling out of this project" rather than "Anything we can do to help?"

Yay... more ppl trying to rush everything xD

Aye, one can only hope. It's probably a pretty good guess they put forward a specific release date estimate for SE of sometime in 2011.

Yea, it seems a bit nuts to announce this whole thing... when the next patch is almost rolling us back in time again (not quite as badly as the v2 revision) without having tested "fully implemented" versions of things they apparently want to do.

I suddenly became worried... if square enix will make wakfu f2p... there will be a cash shop? that ruins gameplay? -.- I'm willing to pay for monthly fees, i have no problem with that, but i WON'T (read: NEVER EVER) pay for in game items... that's just cheap... it's like paying for hacks or something. It will probably ruin the game mechanics as they would be intended... but not here pls lol

I think to have read somewhere that if there where to come an in-game cash shop that it would only be for customization of your character and nothing to enhance its skills or stats ...

Ankama have already said they'll be a cosmetic cash-shop (no powerful items, just appearance), on top of Dofus' freemium model, a long time before this.

I'd be more interested in whether or not this effects Ogrines... or if SE will add their own "brand cash".

I don't really think the publisher has that much control over the content, beyond taking a cut of the profits, community management, and marketting it. For stuff like Final Fantasy, SE is the publisher... but also the developer. In this case they're only the publisher.

For i could read at Zidrune post is nothing set yet... but it will be,probably, like Dofus, when we have a free area (i mean is the easy/logical thing to do)...

posté September 07, 2010, 15:47:27 | #34
oh so cash shop and item shop? 0.o hmm they'd better stick with the decorative stuff lol. I have quit too many f2p games because of the cash shop being unfair.

i found this really interesting (by google):

The lack of news is not a desire to get a nice surprise to the death that kills the patch was released. As I said before, it is not useful for us to let you know the concepts they are not properly trained.

Why?
Because if it is not clear in our minds and we do not agree on the principles, how do you think you present it coherently? If we find faults in a system, we obviously try to correct them before you put it. And that's why some points to make are falling behind.

Then, it is not useful to draw ink (ie the pixels) for nothing. A flawed concept, as we know, will return to us in the face with even more enthusiasm and aggressiveness that some are several months (always?) Effort to denigrate our / my work.

In short, I do not keep the radio silence on what is done solely by prod sadism or lazy. I am the first to want to share with you what is shared. If you truly believe that I am amused to see you call news for three months ...

In the meantime I could actually am satisfied with other aspects of the job, working exclusively on the community site, the overhaul of the forums, moderators or WLG, preparation for future events ... I personally prefer to take a little of my time each day to propose something else, show signs of life on the part of the team. If it does not please everyone, either. But some read and enjoy, so thank you for not speaking on behalf of the entire community.

But they do usually provide "money incentives/contract penalties" to hire enough translators to get it into the appropriate language reasonable soon. I don't think they'd be very happy relying on Ankama's apparent ~2 translators

yes i guess i should have been more clear this whole partnership means much much more money for ankama to use for this monstrous game.

if you keep checking in on the ankama site i bet you will see some help wanted signs in the window for graphic artists, translators, and plenty of other puzzle pieces to make this game pick up some steam

heh, yes... but I feel Ankama's past history shows they're unable to manage their own resources... and have probably decided to use all those new recruits on yet another completely unrelated game

well in the end it says that they don't give us news because they don't have nothing set and don't want to tell us thing that will not work like that in the end....
