Rollback Hi there,

As you all probably heard, there have been some rumors about a rollback on our servers.

Here is what I know so far: some possible exploits have been discovered, and it appeared that some players abused them. The first solution to rebalance the servers was to roll them back to their state before these exploits appeared. However, we all know that this is not a good solution, and this first rollback plan was canceled.

No decision will be made before tomorrow, and by then I will be back in the office and will discuss this situation with everyone involved.

Until then, I encourage you to stay patient. I will come back to you tomorrow as soon as I have more information.

That is good to hear, I'd have lost a lot of things I've accomplished in the last 2 days, a rollback wouldn't do anything just make me quit since I am really tired of all the grinding I've done now.

Hopefully Ankama will come up with a better solution, as I have noticed I believe that only a handful o people actually found it out and exploited it, which makes a rollback the worst solution, it would only punish the whole server for the actions of a few hundreds.

Still, I do not feel very safe to play the game today as the rollback is cancelled 'for now'.

If you want to roll back, roll back all the fight experience only, and remain only the craft experience for the guild level. Roll back all characters to its level before the patch if you cannot find who have visited the place to exploit them, and delete all the new rare items that have been exploited. Test and run the patch to see if they can be further exploited. And lastly.... write an incident report to us on this issue and how you can be further prevent it to avoid such an incident from happening again.

Thank you very much!

Rollback still being considered?

God, Troyle can you send your bosses a cupfull of profanities and cussing for that?
There's a limit on how patient we can be with the game as it is already, the majority of us has done nothing to deserve any sort of punishment, the idea of a rollback is just wrong. Just ban the abusers who actually deserve it.

It might not be as easy as just doing a rollback, but perhaps I'll stop watching friends quit the game and you'll stop loosing customers over poor management.

I'm pleased it was cancelled. I worked so hard to level my profs in the last 48 hours - I don't think I'd find the motivation to do it again had the roll back happened.

Thanks Ankama!

Agree wholly Neuroid. They will have the ability to hunt down the individuals concerned and micro manage the situation. Rollback would have been a crude response.

Please keep in mind that the final decision might still be a rollback.
So far it looks like it won’t, but you should keep this in mind as a possibility.

I surely hope we won’t come down to that, and will try my best to make sure this doesn’t happen, but I don’t have all the information yet and don't how deeply the servers were impacted.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for the updates Troyle, but isn't a little cruel to ban speculation on the possibility of a later rollback whilst waving that very possibility at us? I prefer you being public about it, but ideally it should be a valid point of discussion.

I am sorry but is this some kind of joke?

Not targetting you Troyle but Ankama game and the way they handle the situation.

Here is basically what happenned today:

- Ankama publicly announced a 48 hours rollback
- Ankama explained to the players how the exploit works
- Ankama cancelled the rollback.

Am I the only one seeing this???

The exploite has been fixed I believe.

Not according to people who tested the exploit this afternoon because they believed a rollback would occur. I'm not sure if it is fixed now.
Not the smartest move I'll give you that but still.. They should not announce something as important as a rollback and then cancel it.

Bending under kids cries like 'oh noes, I was mining manganese for 15h during last 48h', not doing anything (with 'umm, yeah... we warned some.. players, yeah, bout the abuse they did, yeah' included) and counting on short memory of players will only make things worse.
Just do te reroll and maybe ill stay here. I love to waste time here in wakfu but knowing someone doesnt have to waste it at all and having all that and even more encourages me to move to a 'cleaner' time-waster.

Genuine concern != kids cries, you only devalue your argument by coming across as a tool. Optional recreational timesink or not, time put into a game, especially a subscription game, is not something which should be taken away unless absolutely necessary.

Aha, yes 'let's spread the exploit while we havent fixed it yet' so everyone can know, what can POSSIBLY go wrong?

This case has gotten such terrible treatment, I dont even know what to think anymore.
I had so much fun playing after the patch and really hoped that for once, just once, I'd have nothing to complain about in this game.

Ankama's reply to that? "lmao tough shit"

I've done nothing wrong and I don't deseve to loose any amount of gameplay time because of a few players that have abused a glitch Ankama would have known about, had they so much as actually tested this material before releasing it! Or given it to us to test, shiraf's test server idea isn't bad at all and if it's going to avoid all this shit from happening everytime we get a new patch then yes, can this somehow be passed to the developers? Even if it's not a test server they still need to do something about all the drawbacks we get with every big new patch, we're not paying to get the game messed up everytime we get new content.

Here's a list with the mess-ups so far and it only seems to be getting bigger,

- Easter Holiday was a disaster and got cancelled (a bug that has occured before in beta at that)
- We got that fantastic Haven Chest wipe bug
- Rogues got "accidentally" added to the game
- The Monk update had many players unable to access the island due to time differences
- And now we get an XP and loot abuse glitch and possible rollback for all players

Why isn't the content tested before being released to begin with? Can't they understand that this is a problem and people will quit over this and they will have all the right to do so?
