Ecology reset
posté May 02, 2012, 20:03:55 | #1
Ecology reset Today after the patch hit I was unpleasantly surprised to see that every zone had its ecology reset and was now filled by plants and trees at random. This wasn't the only thing though, since all mines are now unopened again as well.

Now, I figured this was a mistake and it'd be fixed soon, but I log back in this evening and it's still screwed up.

Was this meant to happen? Do we have to start over again from scratch?

I don't thng it's bad (everything except mines). There'r many trees and crops that it's hard to find bcs of people ingerence. Now We have a chance to find it in theirs beginner ares (just for 1-2 days I thing). But still it's good for us.

I don't know why they did reset the ecosystems, but i hope it was some kind of mistake.

People worked really hard on the ecosystem, and everyone's ecosystem was shaped differently.
Now we all have to start from scratch again, and I am wondering why?

If species go extinct, it's the ecologist's task t reinvent them. Not some kind of ecosystem wipe.

ye, no mention of it in the patch notes so must be a mistake?, the mines all blocked up sucks. I wanted to mine some kamas and now I have to wait like? a week maybe to get to the lead.

The mines is stupid, but the ecosystem was kinda needing a reset... several types of ressources were almost extinct, and whenever you finally found something, people were already trying to kill it without planting new ones.

Some people really don't want to get even a tiny amount of Wakfu Points it seems.

Mines have been reset?

I hope they'll fix it

I think that the ecosystem being reset is a good thing, because now (if only for a short time) all plants and trees are available readily. Obviously I have been trying to help certain plants bloom in areas such as swamps in bonta (lack of jute seed) previously, but now that theres a bit of everything everywhere it helps players level their skills.

Yeah.
Some of my guildmates had to do a suicide to get out of the mines :/

The ecosystem did not need a reset and I'm not sure what this is about several types of resources almost being extinct, but as Sufokias current eco I keep seeds of every type of resource (from sufo) on me at all times. I'm sure this is the same thing for my colleagues from other nations.

There have been new things introduced, how did you want them added?

Also don't mine auto-close every once in a while, wan't that how it was with beta?

The new seeds for higher level and new plants are only available (as far as i know) through the machines in the tavern's basement

And you can only get them with tokens you win from challenges

So nothing new was added eco-wise, it was just put back to the beginning
I can see how it may be annoying to some.

I liked that the ecosystem was reset, I managed to finally get some beans.

However, I did see someone cutting all the artichoke in an area then proceeded to move to another one... :/

Bonta's supply of Barley was pretty much non-existing. We REALLY needed that reset in terms of that.

The only thing that irks me about the reset is the pure randomness of it. Seriously, a single field can contain 5 different types of plants. What the hell?

i wondered why i was finding jute, beans, rye and so on in the swamps XD
i had thought that the Ecologist had wandered through and replanted at random to be honest. (because it was just cold enough to have beans. i went crazy grabbing as many beans seed as i could, casue i figured by nightfall they would all be gone lol)

i can understand the surface reset but the mine resets a bit harsh.
especialy since the mini PvP arena will have gone again (might not be considered a lot of work by the Devs, but it was at least, the playerbase working towards its wanted goals, just like the games supposed to want us to do)

they could have warned us about the mine at least....then we could have stocked up on boms ect again *sigh*

And of course it doesn't take long to fill the fields with babbages and pumpkins again

yeah since yesterday many bugs and hotfixes and today still a hotfix on remington the server is locked for an hour now how long is taking this hotfix

Actually ecosystem went to it's natural state, I mean, with crops and trees proper for area. It' doesn't take while to make ordered fields once again.

New seeds annoy with difficult choice - 10% higher chance of bag, or risk for exp? Finally high level recipes are difficult and effort-full to make
Only one what demands attention is lack of black rice in game, not on farmer list, while demanded by 70lvl chiefs.

Honestly I couldn't care less about the surface reset, as some said before it took just a couple of hours to see high level stuff planted everywhere again.

Reseting mines is just too much.

I thinkg U mean low level stuff. High can be seed only in the high area. The real problem is the low lvl player who spam pumpkin almost everywhere.

The low level resource is gone. It looks like people do on purpose. Gather the low level resource and plant a high level resource. And why only 90 xp for professions on the same level of the resource? I haven't found any info about it on log book.
Ohh, i am donating 10% craft for the guild. Maybe that's why.

But is still odd. Gathering and crafting have the same meaning? On guild tab i can see only fight xp and craft xp and not gather xp. Meh.
