Developers posts and translations
posté April 26, 2012, 15:50:07 | #1
Developers posts and translations I don't quite understand how in an international MMO the developers posts still often are only to be found in the french forums. I appreciate Troyles efforts to at least translate the official announcements quickly, but what about the more informal stuff?

Things like this:

are highly interesting. An explanation of the details on how PP works and how bosses differ from normal fights etc. Yet we never get to see that on the international forums. Could you guys consider translating this kind of stuff too or can't the devs simply write their posts in english? We are on the internet here. That kinda makes english the official language.

Devs usually answer on highly discussed subjects.

I myself decide to translate when the subject is also being discussed on our forums, and don't translate what didn't generate as much talk.

I don't think mirroring everything that is being said on the French forums would be very relevant, and prefer to adapt and only use what is needed for our Community.

If the subject is also discussed on the international forums I'd love to see a translation of Developers to get more insight.

Translating topics which are not discussed here seem like an unnecessary overload to the community team since without the initial posts the Dev comments would be completely out of context.

Greetings

Probably Shaleigh should've linked original post in this topic. It contains some basic information about how prospecting works and I found it useful. No formulas though.

The message he linked just clarifies some points of the original post.

BTW, official translation is available on NA forums: Click here

@deffun: I'm unable to open your link Can't access any NA-site.

Guess the answer is I'm blocked because of my IP.

User a proxy or google translate. Paste the link to goole translate and then choose some random language and translate it to english. Will just give you the original page then.
