Which profession for good income ?
posté March 12, 2012, 19:09:54 | #1
Which profession for good income ? I knowthat mining is a way to directly get kamas. But which profession in reality is better for more income ?

I see it's impossible to catch empty mining spots, everywhere is full of people and I'm happy if I can catch a mine !

Any suffestions ?!

If you're in Bonta, there's a shortage of Gathering Professionals. If you gather stuff that the Crafters use and put them on the Auction House at reasonable prices, they'll sell quick.

Have a look around the Auction House for clues as to what Crafting Professions are being practiced.

Any gathering profession, if you can find a buyer. I don't think anyone can give you more specific advice than this because of the underdeveloped economy and all the changes the game will hopefully undergo in the next months.

So: learn all the professions to get access to the recipe lists, see what you can collect easily that's also needed for a lot of crafting. Check the market for any such items. If it's empty, gather 100 and try selling at a deliberately low price. If not, match the price, you don't want to cut everyone's profits by setting yours lower. If it sells, you can try selling at a higher price.
Or just find someone who's interested in trading and see if he can come up with any orders for you to fill.

Do not bother with crafting if you want a quick profit.

Mining and unfortunately maybe buying kama selling cash shop items are the only ways to really make lots of kama unless you happen to be able to make goultards but good luck with rubies. Everyone harvests their own materials or their guild helps out. The game does not have a viable economy and never had. In time everything but the rarest drops sell for 1 and only kama getting in circulation are from mining which is leaps and bounds more profitable than any crafting or harvesting you could do.

I do my mining on the graveyard shift when most people's asleep.
Or deep in the mines which is not familiar to most people.

BTW, what's are 'suffestions'?

suffestions = suggestions.. haha xD

..so as a result, do I have to be doing mining ?!

One more question. I'm very as you can understand.. and I though astrubion iron is the same with primitive iron. Now I have around 1000 asturbion iron ores, what the hell can I do with that.. ? Obviously I can't turn it into kamas.

I mean... as a more general question: I believe most of the ores are there for some reason, yes... But I'm currently trying to focus on the ones that can be combined into kamas. Is that wrong ? Should I go for more valuable (higher level) ores ? How can they be turned into kamas if yes ?

Thank you for all the answers.

I can't say for the other nations, but as someone mentioned earlier, Bonta has a shortage on gatherers. That is a viable route to go at the moment. Another thing to consider is that the economy is new, so many people are focusing on mining and converting the ores to kama. Building a stockpile of resources (Regardless of which profession(s) you end up choosing) until demand for them hits a high point might be a good idea to get more out of the resources while the economy is at a funky, growing stage.
