Prospecting?
posté March 07, 2012, 20:12:28 | #1
Prospecting? Idk if it's just me... but I've been playing around with a PP of 55. I've killed the same group of mobs 10 times in a row with and without the PP bonus, but the drops I got were pretty much the same.
So, idk if it's worth grinding with 55pp or rather use the 40wis for faster lvling. ~o.o~
What do you guys think?

I'm curious as to how PP works, right now I think all it does is increase the chance of obtaining a rarer / higher leveled item rather than icreasing the amount of drops you can get.

It will be impossible to know how PP works until some guys do some serious number crunching since devs rarely like the reveal the numbers themselves.

i feel the exact same way. ive been playing with a group of 3-4 ppl and they get the same ammount of loot as i do even tho i have 60+ more pp.

PP increases the drop rate for your entire group, I know that much.

prospecting does not increase drop rate for the entire group, :x

there is something called prospecting lock where only when prospecting is combined by all players of group is above a certain magic number then it allows players to drop certain items from the loot table.

prospecting should be increasing the ammount of drops you get, maybe your just unlucky,

this is how i believe it works (correct me if i'm wrong)

100 prospecting = 2% chance to drop a specific item from the loot table
150 prospecting = 3% chance to drop
200 prospecting = 4% chance to drop
300 prospecting = 5% chance to drop
400 prospecting = 5.5% chance to drop

(drop rate is never allowed to reach 100% (exceptions) as far as i know therefore it must have diminishing value calculation)

Ah well I wrong then, I do recall in Dofus that certain items wouldn't drop at all unless your group had enough PP, so I guess they are using the same system in Wakfu.

Hi venus, I did a little test with my friends.
My Enunof PP is 135, and we killed about 10 groups of sharks.
But everytime we always got atleast 1 drop.

Then I took my PP into 50.
We didn't get drops always..
And if you put your cursor over PP, it clearly says.
"Each point on PP increases your chances of finding items by 1%"

But when we got loot, it wasn't always me.
That bonus item goes for your random team member, sometimes you.
Hopefully this helps

Thanks, yes you're right, the PP adds up to the whole group PP so while drop rate increases, the items you get are distributed randomly among group members. (dang it).
