A while ago I created this thread:
In it, I shared my fears that Ankama was trying to subtly slip in a double payment method by having both a subscription and a pay to win shop. Most people wouldn't believe me. You'll see the general consensus to the thread was "they're doing the same as in Dofus", "stop the conspiracy theories" and so on.
Today we got this hilarious, borderline insulting paradox:

Please note: spending Ogrines in the WAKFU Boutique will not make you better than other players! You can only buy “aesthetic” items, be they fashionable or practical, or “evolving” items, which grant bonuses after a certain number of battles: at level 1 they’re not powerful, but they will evolve depending on your skills in battle…
That's pretty much the definition of being better than someone else, Ankama: Having gear that provides stats, and they do. Unless what you're offering is a completely gimped cosmetic weapon, I'll have to disagree. But let's look at the stats shall we?
"This old, cursed weapon has broken free from the soul of its ex-master, who was killed in combat. Have you got what it takes to free the power held within...? Level 100 bonus: +1 AP, +1 Range, +1 Mechanics, +120 HP, +15 INI, +4% CH, +10 Damage"
Are you kidding me now Ankama? Not only it's ridiculous to expect me paying a subscription in a game that offers such degrees of power in the cash shop, but you're trying to make me believe you're not selling power, and doing so through a blatant, obvious lie.
So yes, like I said: Ankama has done it. They've gone so far with their greed they're doing all the humanly possible to milk their playerbase. I wouldn't mind if they weren't releasing a half-baked product, in which entire communities like the international are neglected and basic issues such as unnecessary server restrictions are ignored.
I've had enough. I'm out of this game, and so is my group of friends. We're not going to show any support for a company this greedy and unprofessional. I hope they realize the big mistake they're making and correct it, although little they do now is going to change my image of them.
