Quote (EverThinker @ 21 February 2012 19:23) *
i still have no idea how the haven bag works or why i would need it
jonk does mention that u can use it to open store(to sell items)
Saving a pheonixs are not discussed
theres a mini window pop up when u get close to your first phoenix sayin to save ur soul there and stuff,i think if u paid attention its quite clear as to what its for
No information on how the elements work, is it like pokemon? if so which type are good against which?
in the training place at inkarnam(if u do follow the training before going down) there is an explanation about elements
quests are not explained, just important people marked on your maps, no names on them
quests give directions like 'go see jonk' but dont say where to find him or 'go to the bar' without telling you where it is
the game used to automatically mark jonk and u will find arrow telling which direction to go find him,not quite sure now since they just changed the join nation steps
No real plot thread other than "big ogre needs killing, get strong" and no explanation of what any of the quests might help you achieve.
theres no quests,only achievement
The map does not help other than to tell you which gold star is nearest
well, what else do u need from the map? u can just mark the place.
No reason to make items, your health refills instantly so no need for food for example
when you have more hp u might want bread instead of waiting long.
General feel of 'whats the point?'
it looks to me that you are expecting this mmo like the other mmo out there, but wakfu isnt like the others.

very ironic i subed for a year and i think i may leave this game within 1 month why?main reason is they messed up feca crushing wave skill...now when i use this skill on myself to hit monsters close to me then i get damged and when i use this spell to hit monsters and party members or summons close to that monster then they get damged too so now the spell is 90% usless in party and especialy in dungeons
Feca class is the only class i like and the only spell i ever use to hit monsters is this crushing wave and now its usless i dont enjoy the game anymore.another reason why now i hate the game is finding out they add a cash shop to the game i disapprove of this some people might dont mind they sell cosmetic but i dont even like they sell cosmetic either..since we are paying for the game then all players should be equal in-game all of them should work hard in game to get whatever they want
i hate tha fact they add cash shop to sell show off stuff or weapons or armors please take down this cash shop and if you insist on going on with this cash shop then make this game free to play which i dont like either but if you will make it free to play then refund those who payed for subscribtion refund them with this orgines point to buy from your cash shop
but i say it again i and am sure most of the players prefer pay to play so please close down this cash shop

Note:if they fix feca's crushing wave skill then i'll stay in the game but i still hate this cash shop i hope they close it down

So you're leaving because they fixed one of the many Feca bugs.

posté February 29, 2012, 17:10:30 | #104
i never considerd this as a bug its the only skill i ever use in this game but whats the use of this skill if it hit the party members and kill them? its usless in party its usless in dungeons coz all monsters will be close to party members in dungeons

im not leaving but i have few things to say sadly this game is turning into one of EA games not the good kind of EA games into pay2win EA games also EA company are all money whores
1. the shop its not bad but if they add all items in shop and you can trade them then its a huge problem
2. servers... i dont want to be in remington theres alot of non english people there which is hard when looking for a group and ect... there should english speaking server where u can only speak english or atleast open that american server for everyone..
3. leveling too hard and u know what i mean
4. i am always going to be a f2p but if ur going to keep the shop atleast give some wakfu shop cash to subscribers like 1 month subscription = 200 wakfu money 1 year = 500 wakfu money or something like that
5. 5 year of development and theres not many good features im even expecting v4 beta if something goes wrong saw bandit suggestion which was pretty darn cool

heres my rating = not a bad game kinda

My turn to leave my reason to the list:

It was going to be for ogrines, if they could be used in the game this would mean it would be an unacceptable purposeful unbalance, but now, simply, because they were stupid enough to not only make ogrines, but now a cash shop.

Perhaps I'd also end quitting if weren't for those, since they are so stupid regarding content as well, sometimes even completely clueless, but that's not the main reason I'm abandoning this game.

Me and my friend just played today, he already doesn't want to play anymore
Why?
Cause he feels very limited
And i feel the same
We do wish that if a game like this really shows that it's Free to play we don't want to be limited so much as you are in this game
We have much better things we can spend our money on than this

The "Free" means its a trial, they should make it clear, really, they act as if its really free, its not. Its just like a trial.

They must love deceiving players with things like this.

I just want to quote these words. Yeah, me too. I invited my gf to play this game. And after a week playing, i realize the game has some uncomfortable things. These are just my opinions.

1. The class and spell system.
- The support class is really lack of power. They can't fight on themselves. Even the undead ain't scared of them because their healing is lame. How could they help someone if their healing is not as much as a blow from piwi?
- The tanker class is pussy too. They don't have much more health or defense than others. As they die easily.
- There are 5 spell on each element and each of them has different AP cost, exp. To master a lv 1 spell, you need to use it many many time. And like some class, the spell cost 5/6 AP and no 1 or 2 AP skill. It's unbalanced!

2. The governor and citizenship system.
- Often the eco system is balanced and no chance for players to get citizen points. Creating stuff should for nation should give citizen points too.
- How could we know if that's a good or bad governor? They doesn't do anything that effect your life in game. Really. See the law the governor can set for yourself. Protect species?

3. Gathering and crafting.
- The gather profession is easy to leveling while crafting is too hard.
- Stuffs created by crafting are not useful. A weapon can be created in craft lv 0 is usable for lv 15 user. And that weapon is no better than collectable weapon from monster. Then what is the meaning of crafting? There should be extra bonus stat or something for crafted stuffs.
- Food (cake) is useless. You can regain HP in no time.
- Bonus from food (dish) is bad too. +10 HP for 10 mins. What the hell? +100 HP in 10 mins. Sound better! But wait, you have to make many many +10HP food before you can "cook" +100HP food even if you manage to get ingredients.
- The haven deco items are stupid. We need a deco gem for deco room in your haven bag. And it give you nothing. Nothing!
- The craft room in your haven bag. Again, useless. You need a craft machine from someone min crafting lv 50 or 60. The machine could worth thousands or million kamas because it's really hard to get the level. And that means people would rather run around to craft. Too expensive!

4. Market and tax
- Many items are really useless and appasied wrongly because of buy sell system. When you get something and don't need it. 2 options available. Trash it or use it. Why? Because people don't need it too. There are too many supplies without consumers.
- The only way to get kamas is from mining. Kill monster, collect loot, craft item doesn't get you kama. Especial when those items are useless and no one buy them from you.
- Tax 10% is too high. Additional, the store fee in your haven bag. Why should i lose my precious store fee when it's in my bag? It's my bag! I should can put anything for any price i want on my shelves without any fee. I see many people sell items in their haven bags instead of using market. Why? Cause with a fee, their sell will be on shelves for as long as they want. While in market, max is 72 hours then lose a fee again.

That's enough for me to quit this game. I really feel disappointed. This is a promising game. They should add more content and balance.
Number 3 is what really bothers me. But this game has alot more people looking at it now. Hopefully fixes will come soon. If not, im still managing to have fun.

To be honest, right now its really hard to find a reason to not leave.

Its a shame, this game had a lot of great ideas and a lot of potential from the beginning. But somehow, slowly they managed to let all that potential go to waste by ignoring the feedback and taking decisions while ignoring the biggest part of the community, and now they sre just trying to milk as much money as they can from this before it dies. Ankama knows it, they just dont care.
So much potential, a game with nice graphics and one of the few grid turn based combat mmos out there, wasted.

posté March 01, 2012, 04:12:31 | #113
For your pool of reasons, i could add:

We pre-subcribed 3 months or more, paid in € and now, they set the price in $. Yeah!! 1 month for 5$. What scam is this? Ankama are so !#%@!#%...... ..Not mention the incoming P2W Equipment (trust me i already seen we have at least 10+ 1 for each kind of weapons)

posté March 01, 2012, 04:22:47 | #114
For me, it's that you can buy gear from the shop and that the system is buggy (subscription system).

posté March 01, 2012, 05:07:54 | #115
I just want to add a post I just submitted in the "It's official: Wakfu is now live! So what are you waiting for? Get playing!". As a very disappointed consumer that really looked forward to this game, I think Ankama needs as much exposure to why people have decided to quit and not support this game as possible.

"I really looked forward to this game and I really wanted to like this game. I loved the idea of a sandbox/community based MMO, which would give an alternative to the more common MMO models today.

But Ankama, you have managed to completely ruin a game that could be so great.

I personally have no problem with the P2P model; I would pay for the subscription if the gaming experience would be enjoyable.

The game engine itself is not optimised. It's very choppy and laggy. Considering I played with everything on "low", I'm surprised how it cannot run fluently. It's not like the game has anything demanding on low graphics. It just boggles my mind.

You still haven't done anything to the skill system. With 5 skills that you need to grind the hell out of and a system that encourages one skill usage, a big strategic aspect of the game vanishes. In a turn-based tactical game, I don't want to be mashing only one skill. The “tactical” part then is lost and battles become a chore. It was said during the beta, I'm astonished that this hasn't been changed.

And of course the issue with Pay 2 Win. With a game like this that is subscription based, I find the decision weird of implementing an item shop of this scale into the game. Yes, you can indeed implement an item shop into a subscription game, since this has been done and successfully for that matter. But they decided only to include cosmetic items and I would definitely say that cosmetic items would be the better choice for Wakfu. Because of it being a sandbox/community based game, I see that the players would have a lot of enjoyment in customising their characters to their own liking for a small fee, while having no effect on actual gameplay issues/balance. But here instead, you force people into paying the subscription and additionally paying for the best items. Someone on the forums has already made a comparison between the items that can be found in the game and the pay items. They are really just overpowered and the people that will pay for the items will get a huge advantage. With game having a big deal in PvP as well, the winners will (for the time being) be those who throw their money at Ankama. I'm sorry, but this is Mass Effect 3 all over again. You have simply gone to far. If you wanted to implement a Pay 2 Win system, then abolish the subscription. Because then you could argue that the item shop was there for the "core" players, since paying for the items would then be like paying a subscription. Instead you do both...

As far as I really wanted to play this game, it just seems Ankama doesn't really have an idea on how to make this game work. The release itself seems rushed, just by looking at the website (yes, the website doesn't even work properly, recent examples was the class introduction videos that didn't get updated), while the game just haven't had the issues found during the beta addressed.

The weird use of both subscription and micro transaction business models, seems to me like Ankama does not know what they want to do, thus they do everything at once. As a consumer, it gives the perception of Ankama being very unorganized and unprofessional. I suppose you have some qualified people in your staff. Please, show to us consumers that you know what you are doing and focus. If you went to a business school (which I hope at least someone in your corporation did), you know what I'm talking about.

I'm glad I didn't pre-subscribe and support this company; yet sad on the other hand that it had to come to this. I suppose I know why Ankama is not up there with the big boys, since as an organisation they need to make some fundamental changes."

I already uninstalled Wakfu 3 weeks ago, and i must say that, anyone who keeps playing this is either stupid, delusional or have bad taste in games (which i have no problem with btw).

Just let this shit sink. I know, you think you arent as strong as to simply leave it after 1 year (or more) playing, but there are plenty of things to do in life, dont waste time and money in Ankama.

Cheers!

1. It's not interesting to play when you forced to use only 1 spell (+1 weapon maybe).
Spell leveling is designed the way that you'll be having only 1 spell of your level and ONLY IF you'll be using that single spell all the time.
In a non turn based game you need to aim your shots for example, so it still can be interesting to play those even with few weapons available. In a turn based game you gotta chose from different things you can do on your turn (you got AP for it and different spells with different cost). Right now there is no choice happening in a fight, the whole point of turn based game is lost.
There are 14 classes in this game, every level you get stats to customize it even more. I can't see why you still need to have only 1 useful spell out of 20.
All your elemental spells should gain level when you gain it, and then and only then this game will be interesting to play.
|
|
2. To completely show you that game is unplayable the way it is now:
1) If I'll be using only 1 spell I can attend dungeons of my level, though there will be no tactics in those fights and it will not be interesting (only 1 spell can be used, nothing to chose from).
2) If I'll be using many spells they're all be low level. Now I finally can decide how to spend my AP every turn. At the same time I can't go to dungeons of my level, because it require me to use spells of my level, but not a single one of them is the same level as me because I used more then 1 spell while playing and experience is split among them. I decided to go to low level dungeon that require the same level as most of my spells are, but since I gain HP every time I level up my character, I'll be having too much HP for that and again fight won't be interesting because enemies will be unable to kill me due to my HP pool.
|
|
3. And finally, why the idea of boosting a spell that you use most of time is bad?
Because there are spells that you use more often than the others. There's lots of situational spells, and even if you'll be gaining much more spell experience per normal experience, those situational spells still won't be useful. And as any tactical game this game is supposed to be about using right spell at right situation. You'll end up with single target spell dealing more damage than AoE spell does to multiple targets summed up. Or you'll need to be using your AoE spell on single targets to level it up, which is stupid.
|
|
4. Why is it worked out well in old games? Because you have controlled multiple characters, not even 2 or 3, more like 5, 6 or even 10 of them. And each character had a weapon + at least 1 strong spell. So there were many types of attacks overall, because you've controlled many characters. It's almost the way you do it in chess.
In this game you control only 1 character, so it's important to have all your spells useful.
And the only way to do so: all spells should level up when your character levels up.
