Non-Violence

Non-Violence To those who are playing the Beta. Is it possible to play this game without the murdering of innocent mobs? ie... concentrating on the political/economic side?

Well you only need to kill the first intro-monster (who dies in 1 hit), other than that just skip all intro quests and go choose a country, exept it will be harder to get mob-resources.

To get political you will need to kill exactly 4 mobs. The bow meow in the very first room, and then three mobs you choose yourself in order to drop the three items needed to choose a nation.

oh yeah forgot the feathers, you need to defeat 3 mobs of your choosing outside incarnam to choose a nation. They drop 3 feathers that you need to give to the scribe-owl to make you a member of a nation.

its been done in dofus where someone can reach level 50 without killing any creatures just with exp scrolls, would be cool if you got exp for other things than battle in my opinion

btw ask any governor how many creatures you need to kill to become government and they will know , (this statement is implying that all governors use Alts to vote themselves)

There is no creatures killed requirement to be a governor, nor level. Just citizenship.

You can play as healing Eniripsa in groups and be useful while not killing anyone

I don't get you

But if you are so kind to virtual sheeps, I can't imagine how you feel about the global warming

sorry if i phrased wrong, i meant most governors use alts to vote for themselves so they are all experts at the starter areas because they have done it so often. they would know incarnam inside and out. (was just a joke lol)

You can play quite successfully without fighting, and concentrate on crafting, trade, politics or whatever else it is you choose. Very few monsters are aggressive in the game so far, so you can go about doing things quite safely.
However, I don't think there is a way to get XP through non-combat means, so your character level will be stuck at 3 or so, rendering you unable to use most equipment, and very vulnerable to any PvP. Then again, level and equipment does not affect anything important outside of combat, and PvP is generally rare.

Kind of an interesting concept really since, level itself is regarding BATTLE levels.
In the Wakfu anime despite the main cast having battle skills you see people who don't fight at all. Taking up a role as a common citizen who doesn't know how to battle is a nice idea.
Your focus of being able to make equipment or cooking and that... become a nation wide trades person who then racks up kamas because you spend more time trading than fighting.

That's how I like to play, too, in fact: crafting comes first, trade a natural second, fighting only if I need to defend myself or some resources are only obtainable in combat. Of course, it's usually possible to buy items or hire a bodyguard, but the economy in Wakfu is too broken to do the former and profit from it (Usually), and I'm not sure many players would agree to a bodyguard position and not abuse it to double-cross you for the lulz.

So of course I like combat level only affecting combat, particularly in an open-ended game like Wakfu.

... and very vulnerable to any PvP. ...
It's not possible to attack anyone lower than level 10, so by not fighting to gain XP they will be immune to pvp.

Oh, my bad, then. I never really bothered with PvP, so I assumed it's just forbidden in some areas, like Astrub.

You will have some trouble to get some high level raw material, such as amethyst a while ago...

Amethyst, before the last patches, were only encountered among the Drhellers, an agressive type of monster. I dunno if there are any resources that are placed in agressive territories, but is always a good thing to level up a little bit, so you can kill monsters and, therefore, have access to all kind of resources. There are some itens that are only harvestable if the monster is dead, and you'll probably like do do it yourself, since being dependent of someone really sucks.

In politics, for instance, it would be good if you were a high level character, since you'll probably get involved with some clan member battle, for enemies' territories. People would hardly vote for someone low level.

It's not required to play through killing mobs, but is highly recommended.
