did a lot of the English-speaking players go to Different Servers?

Why can't I visit the north-american forums?

I don't really care if they add a community/IP block to the international server as they did in Dofus. As long as they leave us the chance of being part of this community via a support ticket.

I used to play Dofus on a server named Shika (UK), got the access to it via a ticket. Since the payment doesn't judge where you are from, I could play Dofus very well. However, I don't want to be blocked from visiting the forums like they did to the Superior Community of The Untouchable Gods. I also rather play on a server with people from UK/Europe - Sorry! But I can't stand playing with U.S. people due to their sense of superiority over all other cultures.

Also, if they're IP blocking the International Server, they should do it at the release date - Shika used to be open for everyone, and since they closed there are still a lot of polish players that do not speak a word of english.

I am Brazilian but I rarely speak Portuguese in this game, in fact I even avoid speaking with people from my country... I really just don't like. I played Dofus and I will play Wakfu to improve my English while having some fun. It's funny because speaking Portuguese for me in an English server would only happen if I had personal friends there, it's more of a personal language for me. While English becomes my main. That's odd...

---------------------------------

Actually, answering this topic's question. I believe they're just not playing now, as there is going to be a wipe soon, once the game is launched I believe more players should appear from other places of the world. Australia, New Zeland... I just, hope so.

This post sounds a little xenophobic.

I do know that's not what you meant Venusquake, but the way you said it... Gives me goosebumps.

I'm from Brazil and I can speak english and I'm not the only one. Among the brazilian community, most of us can speak english.

Just because you've seen them speaking in their native language that doesn't mean they can't speak english. I don't know if that's what happened, but if this is the case, give us - foreigners - a chance.

I actually prefer to make groups with strong people, doesn't matter if they are british or brazilian.

Unfortunately thou, most international players are new to the game, since Ankama got to our countries last year only and we didn't know about Wakfu before. So, if you are low level it will be most common to find those from a random nationality and that speaks different languages.
im not saying mosts brazilian people can't speak english , im saying remington is an English speaking server so the world chat should be only in english, it would not be right if government of Poland made all his speeches in Spanish

The term Xenophobic implies that i am racist, and im not , im ranting at ankama not the people speaking their own language in a server they are forced to go into.

This is what Reason i had behind my arguments.

The international server should be available to the whole planet, and its language preference should be french.

English, brazil,Poland, should be allowed their own server , the problem with that is there may not be enough players on each server.

Because English is like a universal language for players of wakfu the English server should not be IP restricted

But lets not jump to conclusions we do not know what ankama has planned for the full release. in relation to servers

The topic name should be : Have "most" the English "speaking" players been forced to different servers? :s

I don't like the way the community is split across many servers (and forums as well). The difference between total post count of French and international board is enormous. We lack any technical discussions in here and I am sure they are present on a French board. I, however don't know their language and because of that I feel like I'm missing a piece of experience (yes, there are translators, but it's not the same as an original lecture). It would be better solution if there was only one board with only minor nationality sub-forums. As a Spanish or German, I wouldn't be happy about isolating my community from an international one.

i think we have learned not to talk so much about the technical discussions on our forums because they just don't get anywhere, there are probably forum sections dedicated to that sort of Circular argument stuff. (technical can mean all sorts of things really)

and i agree with you that its unfair on the english speaking players in international community we cant talk to americans, and its unfair on spain and germany but they can make tickets. to come here.

i dont think we can make tickets to go to Nox, but i know if i did make a ticket to nox very few would follow and i would lose all my freinds, you guys would all miss me so much

I'm sorry if I sounded agressive. I would never call you xenophobic or racist. I just meant the hole post and commentaries sounded a bit of that, although I understand that's not what you meant.

Anyway, just like you and Eldr1ch, I also think that Ankama should have an international server without IP block. Acutally, I would go further. I think it would be great if there was only one server, even for the french community.

I made such a request 5 days ago. No response yet. A simple 'no' would suffice, really...

I also think that there should be International Server without any IP blocks or restrictions.

TBH im from Poland but i dont want dedicated polish server. In my opinion wakfu is not some large World of Warcraft with over 9,000,000 subsribers to divide community so much and make separate servers. If Ankama will continue to do that we will have many dedicated servers but with low population and ghost towns because i believe Wakfu player base may be low to medium compared to other MMO's.

I think the more the merrier, even if we are to be mixed with spanish, germans, french its always nice to see other players running around here and there.

@Venusquake

Yeah i bet we would miss You if u gone to Nox,everyday i check this forums and ask myself, why there are only few new posts? Why no one is writing anything? Is English community really so poor? And then i see You just came up with new interesting thread and motivated people to make some posts

Aww thnx (its true, im the most active forum member just)
I think that Wakfu is gonna have a much bigger player base when it fully releases, Because that is when they start the Adverts and such. William From Ankama on air (has Left now i actually met him and izmar in person at MCM London ) was the Marketing director so im assuming that they have some advertisement planned , I also found out while i was at the Expo that they Have Loads of Adverts in France and its extreemly popular in france (have you seen the dofus servers !!)

I initially saw a TV advert for Dofus like in 2007 or something , then in like 2009 or 2008 Completley out of randomness Remembered it from nowhere and started looking for it on the internet, then i got hooked. Now im here, (sorry about life story) anyway the point is that there will be adverts for wakfu and regardless of how well it does Outside of france because in france they got like 20% of the population playing it or something, it will still Become unstoppable in the market.

Have you seen the spamm around the trading chat, even if it is supported by rules to speak English?
Do you know the feeling when you try to ask something and the reply is "no habla englis" or "kkkk"?

Not being xenophobic, as many people and mods say, it's just the gameplay that becomes a bit ruined...

I Made a new Video Showing How to get from International server To the American server Here

posté January 15, 2012, 10:29:50 | #54
Whoa,so many people playing on Nox,but i wonder isnt it a bit laggy there? Can You check pings?

And Venusquake about Dofus popularity...yes i know its very popular in France,it is very strong brand there but its not as much popular outside this country because Ankama doesnt care too much about international community. Lack of support,no contact with devs. I played a lot of Dofus and that was the biggest issue with my game.

I did the Ping test and the results were Extreemly Strange.

It seems The international server The ping is 28 MS average,

I keep reading about how people are struggling to find English speaking players on Remington. Well I am an English speaking player from England so if you could like to hang out on Remington then hook me up!

posté January 15, 2012, 18:06:20 | #59
Nothing strange about it. Pings to US servers are usually higher than to EU which is obvious, but 94 ping is pretty nice and shouldnt ruin gaming experience.

posté January 15, 2012, 19:49:29 | #60
Eh, apparently this had already been mentioned but I can't find the thread detailing it.

I used to have a cra character in the Remington server, Brakmar, level 20, decent miner, couple of hundred kamas in my pouch, tried to log in today after leaving it for a week or so and once I'd downloaded and installed the patch it tells me that I don't have a character anymore.

Is there a way I can reclaim him or has he been moved to another server or what? I'm from Northern Ireland so I'm part of the UK server thingy, probably.
