Well what I have found out is, when the max level of the group you are fighting is way higher than your own level, the experience you gain shrinks drastically. I do not know why this is, except for the theory that it is to prevent low level players being pulled into high levels with a high level player helping them against powerful mobs.
They could make a different system for this, though, such as if the difference of level of monster and the lowest person in the group /highest person in the group is too big, then that person gets low XP, but not the others (so if for example if three level 20's kill a 60 monster, they should get more XP, but if a level 60 and a 20 kill a 80 monster, the lvl 20 gets lower XP). Its not that hard to make something like this. Or anything else more complex than just "the group level is low, the mob is high and you get no XP", which is stupid and could be improved in many ways.
The entire group XP system is flawled, getting low xp being in group or killing a higher level mob together makes it ridiculous to level. I was testing weapons (for their AP/use) yesterday, and used groups of 1-2 gobballs lvl 10/5 as test subjects, and got something like 2k XP per battle, the character being lvl 21. This for an easy fast battle (2 minutes each doing fast turns). Now I was killing lvl 50 (one was even 100 total level) with 2 friends also at the same level (21-22) and the maximum xp we got, for an extremely long fight (about 30 minutes each fight), and using wisdom candies, was 7k. I'm surprised this still hasn't been fixed. Its really stupid, and affects basically everyone that ever thinks of joining a group. Making solo leveling better than group leveling in a MMORPG is just dumb, what is the point of the MMO part then?
