Earth Panda After The Patch
posté March 28, 2012, 00:11:53 | #1
Earth Panda After The Patch I started an earth panda on saturday and I was enjoying it quite a bit (Hello, Jackie Chan Drunken Boxing!).

Now, I don't personally think this patch affected an earth panda that much (but, as I said, I am relatively new so DO correct me if I am wrong), but it made me rethink my build anyway and I'd like some opinions from more experienced people if it would work.

This is what I'm planning:

1 ap, rest strength

Barrel Lv9
Bottomless Barrel Lv20
Karchanrak Lv9
Master of Merriment Lv20
Barrelhop Lv9

Still, I can also see both Bamboozle and Ethereal being useful to me and, according to my calculations (which, again, may be wrong, so please correct me), I'll have some leftover points after completing those specialties. So, I'm also thinking of substituting Bottomless with one of those two (still not sure which one) and investing my leftovers on Bottomless.

I appreciate the help.

In case you didnt notice , you get lvl 100 worn out when you reach lvl 100 merry , So barrelhop or bamboozle might not be a good idea . They are usefull in certain situations or fast fights but you might want to consider milky instinct instead .

Hi Nukio, I read your PM and I thought it would have been better to reply here, so anyone can find it.

Basically, since last .747 Patch you have three ways of stacking Merry: Barrelhop, Bamboozle and of course Drinking from the Barrel.

Barrelhop: I personally see it as a Must-Have in any build, the cost is really low (1WP 0AP) and it comboes with Karchamrak to teleport around, also, it now stacks Merry and since it's not limited to 1cast/turn you can use it to stack Merry quickly if needed.

Bamboozle: 1AP 1WP, +20lvl.s of Merry, +10 lvl.s of Dizzy, 3x3 ring AoE, Self cast.
It's really powerful, it can used to boost your own Merry lvl. as well as allies damage, be careful not abusing it as 20lvl.s are quite a bit, you can use it to stack Merry very quickly, and since Dizzy now inflicts neutral -%Resist., it means even more damage.

Regarding the stats, I see four viable builds, full Strenght for damage, Full HP for a Tank, 50:50 Hp/Strenght for an average combination of both and 50:50 Strenght/Crits for High Damage spikes.

and Concerning spells builds:

A good Tank build is somewhat like this:

lvl.10 Bottomless Barrel: It increases quarts and lock, you don't really need a lot of quarts since last patch, but you need a minimum of 10, and lock helps keeping your targets in close combat.
lvl.9 Karchamrak: Carrying the barrel for 1AP helps, also you'll be able to lower enemies resistance and move them, so you'll have some support abilites.
lvl.9 Barrelhop: Combined with Karchamrak provides 2AP 1WP teleport, also, it helps stacking Merry.
lvl.20 Bottomless Barrel: Finish leveling it.
lvl.20 Milky Instinct: 20% chance of avoiding an hit, nice hm?
lvl.20 Master Of Merriment: Heals a % of your Max HP based on the lvl of Merry, so works better if you have high HP:
-lvl.20 Merry:2%
-lvl.40 Merry: 4%
-lvl.60 Merry: 6%
-lvl.80 Merry: 8%
-lvl.100 Merry: 10%

A Damage Build:

lvl.6 Barrel: Quarts and lower AP cost.
lvl.9 Karchamrak: Carry and Throw for 1AP, comboes with Barrelhop
lvl.9 Bamboozle: Increasing your lvl.s of Merry quickly, be careful not abusing it.
lvl.9 Barrelhop: Same as before.
lvl.20 Milky Instinct: As above.
lvl.9 Barrel, Finish leveling it.

Also, avoid investing your points in APs or MPs, Merry is easy to stack and grants you AP/MP bonus

-lvl.30 Merry:+1 MP,
-lvl.50 Merry: +1AP, +1MP,
-lvl.80 Merry:+1AP, +2MP
-lvl.100 Merry: +2AP, +2MP.

Just ask if you have other doubts.

Hi

And why Barrelhop? In the earthtree. I carry the barrel?

Barrelhop is amazing, even for the earth tree.

If you're not in the right position you can (for 2 AP + 1 WP) throw the barrel and hop to it pick up and attack.

Seems like a nifty skill to be able to utilize

Yes! that's great good idea Thank you @Shakingspear.

No points in HP for a damage earth Pandawa?

posté April 07, 2012, 21:27:34 | #10
With Karchamrak maxed you can cheaply throw barrel > teleport > pick barrel up again. Only 2 ap!
So very useful with earthbuild as well.

Edit: Ehm.. I didn't notice someone already answered. x)

Ok No Points in HP. 1 AP and the other in strength. That's right?

posté April 08, 2012, 05:52:40 | #12
You get plenty of AP with gear and Merry stacks, so it's not necessary to have that +1 AP. HP and Strength are the usual recommendations. Gear can usually cover the rest of your build with the buff in AP due to Merry stacks.

This is true..

But merry needs to be controlled and it's nice to have the extra AP before going "all in".
I try to look at what spells I want to be able to use and work backwards from there. Add in the extra AP you get from merry and see what cool combos you're able to do.

When you find the combos that works for you it's easier to see how many AP you need.

Ok i read this all. Now i skill my earth Pandawa:

50% HP and 50% in strength

lvl.6 Barrel
lvl.9 Karchamrak
lvl.9 Bamboozle
lvl.9 Barrelhop
lvl.20 Milky Instinct
lvl.9 Barrel

That's the best way or?

posté April 09, 2012, 01:57:37 | #15
Imo barrel hop is a waste of point for earth panda. if need escape, use karcham, if need aproach, use blitz.

now you have points to max other useful like bottomless, milky instinct ect...

posté April 09, 2012, 02:49:44 | #16
Ok. But half HP and half strength is good?

New:

lvl.6 Barrel
lvl.9 Karchamrak
lvl.9 Bamboozle/ and here now Bottomless Barrel
lvl.9 Barrelhop/ and here now: Master of Merriment
lvl.20 Milky Instinct
lvl.9 Barrel

I wonder how effective Master of Merriment is for a tank-panda. The dodge bonus isn't necessary and the hp-regen doesn't seem that high.

Maybe it's better to consider aggressive barrel to get some counterattacks together with extra dizzy states.

If you get healed with master of merriment it's like if you had 30% more hp. Worn out is your only problem.

posté April 12, 2012, 23:35:14 | #19
Well! I think this is a good little guide. Hope it

Half in HP the Rest in strength.

Bottomless Barrel: lvl. 20
Karchamrak: lvl. 1
Milky Instinct: lvl. 20
Master of Merriment: lvl 20

What are you thinking?

posté April 18, 2012, 14:18:32 | #20
I have a question about
Master of Merriment.
Is the Heal at 100 Level of Merry 10% of your max HP, or 10% of your current HP?

Edit: Nvm just read Lindel's post and It's Max HP.
