Ecaflip's Tarot's and God Ecaflip card
What's the deal with the God Ecaflip card?
2 fights in a row have I received this sickening card, I have nothing against the chance to get a card with debuff's, but really a card that takes you down to 1hp? what's the up that? So better remember don't get the Ecaflip's Tarot's speciality.... |

Odd, that card effect isn't in the old list of card effects, and that specific card used to be a positive +3 ap buff..
Granted being cut down to 1 hp is better than being killed outright. (There was a card combination which did that, and involves getting God Ecaflip after getting God Ouginak, maybe that's what happened to you?) |

That's exactly what happened - Vivakip, there's more to the tarot system then the game explains properly (in fact it's relatively complex)
When you put a point into the tarot system, you will draw a random card. There are good cards, bad cards and apparantly some cards are now qualified as neutral. The chance to draw a good card increases per point spend into the skill, whereas the chance to draw a bad card decreases. Some of the cards have variable results, if it's still the case like it was before, then putting points into the skill also increases the chance to get 'the best result' from the good/neutral cards, and the 'least horrible' result from the bad cards. Furthermore, drawing the god ecaflip or ouginak card will change the effect of the card drawn right after - Ecaflip turns the next card drawn into a 'super nice card', whereas Ouginak turns the next card drawn into a rotten apple. The most extreme scenarios are when two god cards are drawn right after another - Drawing Ouginak followed by Ecaflip puts you to 1 hp (This 'used to be instant kill, this is quite the improvement actually), whereas drawing Ecaflip followed by Ouginak gives you a resurrection buff, putting you back to 50% HP upon dieing. Trust me, you 'want' to draw Ecaflip normally. It's the best card in the set and the Ecaflip's earth skills are now augmented by it. |

Okay, thanks for the explanation!
Still the fact it can happen in any giving fight, I guess I'll just stay away from that speciality |

Yeah, the card system looks a lot more interesting than before, and at any rate, if you do draw Ouginak, theres always that skill that draws another card/toss another dice, 'Roll Again' to try to get either a positive or neutral afterwards and change the 'effect' upon you, and with a bit of luck, you wont get Eca card and get back the 3AP taken from Ouginak.

As far as I can tell roll again does not replace the card, but draws another one for you. I saw someone who got God Ecaflip from roll again after a normal deal of Ouginak, and got the "down to 1 hp" effect. This post has been edited by Psaakyrn - February 16, 2012, 14:25:56. |

Indeed, there some card effects that remain active even after use Roll Again.
I have confirmed that this happens with Ecaflip's Paw (ressurects you) and also with the 'dark side' of God Ecaflip card (1HP). However, some other effects are actually replaced when we roll again. Well, I think Tarot is very good, essential for a true Ecaflip. Before, God Ecaflip would kill instantly, now is not so bad, you can still run and heal with water spells or ask for help to a colleague Eniripsa. ^^ This post has been edited by Yanga - February 16, 2012, 14:45:20. |

I love the Tarot system as it is now - It's capable to let the Ecaflip ditch out 'a whole lot' of damage.. at times!
The reroll ability, the extra card abilities and the earth skills all falling in synnergy with it are wonderful. And I've got nothing to complain about the new dice system either (and fire spells) - Thank you Ankama! Indeed, there some card effects that remain active even after use Roll Again.
Or be a true Ecaflip and end your turn on the cat tree (forgot the new name for the ability - 50% chance to heal incoming damage or aquire double! I have confirmed that this happens with Ecaflip's Paw (ressurects you) and also with the 'dark side' of God Ecaflip card (1HP). However, some other effects are actually replaced when we roll again. I think in tactical game like Wakfu there is no place for such randomness. Sure it's fun... but self-own in PvP is not worth it. I guess it's better to rely on guaranteed source of high damage instead of heads-or-tails Eca. Burst can be good but you need amazing luck to pull this off.
But I gues that's how it should be... it's not so bad. Except of that 1 HP Tarot Combination. Could be -50% hp or something. Right now it's pretty much sefl ownage you cannot predict or prevent. |

Well, we're talking about the Ecaflip here, the gambler class.
Thing is, when you go for the optional tarot system, you are effectively enabling yourself to play with extremes - Luck, both bad and good, is what it's all about then. Realise that falling down to 1 HP is on the opposite site of getting a resurrection bubble putting you to 50% hp again - Trust me, this is insanely powerful in a pvp match too. It can obviously be discussed wether or not being put down to 1HP is fair when matched with the resurrection bubble - Whatsoever it's a lot better then being instant killed like it used to be though. |
