Chance and healing
posté January 05, 2012, 12:12:01 | #1
Chance and healing Hey guys,

Trying out an Eni (again) after the wipe.

Was wondering if points in chance also boosts our healing power, since in the atribute it only says water damage and water resists...

Also...

Did someone notice that the regen spell from lvl 8 to 9 INCREASES the AP cost instead of decreasing, and reduces range instead of raising?

From my limited testing of the new stats they've added. Chance will boost the % water damage which would only apply if using heals offensively (e.g. combo'ed with unnatural remedies) It doesnt have any noticable effect on healing.

Hi,

I'm testing the new "stats" system, I spent all my skill points in "chance" the healing is always the same...

That's a little sad, but well, at least we have more spare points to hp :p

Thanks for the info!

This is not correct - water % damage as a stat does increase healing. If you want to test this, go and fight some blue piwis or googoos, take their +50% water damage initiative bonus when it pops up, and then use heals on yourself or your coney - they heal more.
Raising Chance would assist healing, so if you plan to be a pure support Eni this would work OK, but at the moment in this game I would advise raising pure HP on any class and character if you are not sure of what to raise; some people might choose an AP, MP or Lock before raising pure HP, but anything else is a bit of a waste of points until the full game is released as it will make level 1-50 very difficult to play through without the extra 500 or so HP you would normally be getting (in exchange for about 120 chance, which is only equal to +60% water damage and resist, easily available through gear at higher level.)

Would be nice if they actually made it clear if it affects it or not because everything in-game would indicate it doesn't.

I have really weird experience with this topic. It seems that chance affects healing spells but I really don't know why sometimes Invigorating Word seems to be ignoring the effects of water damage bonus.

Don't really know if that was intentional or it is some kind of a bug.

This problem/bug with Invigorating Word has been around for years, I'm not kidding. And yes, it's quite a nasty problem because this heal makes for a really nice damage and heal in one in combination with Zombification for an Eni himself.

True or false: as it stands in today's game, chance gives +DMG and +HEALS?

Water damage % has always affected healing, despite what people used to think or some still think. Invigorating Word however has always been buggy and it probably has contributed to the fact that people think that Water damage % doesn't affect healing.

Eniripsa's healing spells are all Water element, so it is only natural that they are affected by Water's power, why should the Eniripsa be the only class with one of their three elements not affected by the appropriate elemental boost.

This is the reason why the healing spells' basic heal amounts are so low even at spell level 100, because they are affected by both Water damage % and Healing Bonus %.

Thank-you Alvaris. Now I'm confident. 8) And apologies if that question above seemed a little blunt.

From my experience and experience of other enis i have seen in game chance has lower effect on healing than on damage or none. I am still not sure and i have see many ppl healing the same even though they have different amount of %water dmg.

You have to remember that any "neutral" damage bonus or debuff does not affect healing in either way, neutral only affects damage. With "neutral" damage bonus I mean equipment, pets and buffs/debuffs that gives % damage" boost/debuff to no specific element but all four elements.

Any neutral damage bonus to water damage needs to be deduced from water damage % to see the "real" water damage % that affects heals.
