The Bug Report Function
People have been saying they don't know how to use the bug report function. Here is a step by step guide. One area where the international community can be particularly helpful is reporting missing translations, so let's get to it!
Press the button with a beetle on it in the upper right hand corner of the game window.
A popup menu will appear. In translation, it reads “do you want to now generate an archive containing information about the state of the game which will be useful for your bug report?”
Click “yes”. Another menu will appear. In translation, it reads “An archive named '######_######.zip' has been generated in the folder: C:\Program Files\Wakfu\report\ ######_######.zip. It contains the information that we will use to solve the problem. Thank you for attaching it to your bug ticket that you will post at the following location: http://support.ankama.com/fr Do you want to be taken to support?” The pound signs represent date and time.
Clicking yes should open a browser window at support, but maybe not. In any case, you can go to http://support.ankama.com/fr and log in. Click the tab for Wakfu (note that this will give a 404 error if you do it from the English page.)
Click on “Je voudrais rapporter un bug en jeu” (meaning “I would like to report a bug in game.”)
The top part of the next page describes the archive you just made in game. In boldface text, it reads “What type of bug would you like to report?” The categories are:
>>>> A bug of: display / decoration / sound / environment
>>>> A bug of: monster / spell / AI / combat
>>>> A bug of: interface / text / translation
>>>> A bug of: object / equipment / set
>>>> A bug of: quest / scenario / tutorial
Choose the appropriate category.
On the next page, it reads “To report a bug, make sure you know how to describe a procedure for reproducing the bug or are able to precisely explain the circumstances where the bug appears. If you have used the 'Report a bug or problem' button in game, a file named 'date_time.zip' has been created in the file where you have installed the game, in the 'report' folder. This file contains a variety of information that will help us identify your problem easily, and you should attach it to your message.”
Click the button that says “Envoyer un message”, which means “send a ticket”.
Under section 1, it asks for your account name, character name, and level.
Under section 2, it asks for information about the problem. Choose a problem type from the dropdown menu, choose date and time, and input the game client.
Under section 3, it asks for “Supplemental Information.” Translation of the red text reads: “Thank you for writing a clear and concise message. Explain the circumstances in which the bug appears so we can reproduce it.” During the closed beta, they told us it was okay to send messages in English (as long as it's clear English! Txt talk is not English.) The two boxes translate as: “What happened?” (top) and “What should happen?” (bottom).
Section 4 is where you attach the .zip file you made. Choose Browse and click the file.
Choose “Envoyer” to send.
