Animal trainer, A new profession suggestion
posté September 07, 2011, 18:54:16 | #1
Animal trainer This prof would allow player to tame a monster(depending on a trainer prof level, with more powerful monsters requiring higher levels) and train it to be a pet. Think, there are already a lot of non-combat interaction between players and monsters(seed harvesting, etc.) so adding a way to tame and train a monster would feel natural for the game. I was thinking about Animal Trainer being an good counterpart for a trapper prof or even it's advanced form.

Monsters, who are not attacking a player on their own, could probably be tamed right away, while for taming violent monsters I have the following strategy in mind: kill a monster and, a skilled trainer could extract this monster's seeds from a fresh corpse. After that, He must plant a monster and when it would pop out in it's baby form, he would be susceptible for training.

A trained monster would accompany player as a pet and aid him(in combat and/or otherwise, depending the monster). In combat a pet could be AI- or player-controlled(again, this could depend on a tamer prof level), with it's own unique skills.

My idea for this prof is that it's more like a crafter, in a way that a pet could be sold and used by anyone(provided the player has a level high enough to use a pet), not just the trainer himself.

this idea is good, but i think we dont need this idea to be implemented yet.
its too long waiting wakfu to be released just with current function, not to say adding a function

Then lets throw Osamodas in trash?

Isn't that how Osamodas works already? And I don't think we need any more pets: many classes already have summonables, plus you have the Gemlin. The only place I see where they'd fit is as a purely (Or mostly) cosmetic addition to your Haven Bag, and that's just not interesting.

Indeed, We will have Osamodas do exactly (more or less) this.

That pet would kinda be annoying running around my sadida dolls, especcialy that i wont be able to heal him with mudool etc, explodoll will kill him for notheing and so on. Keep this for osamodas. LEttign iops have additional damage, or cras having cheap obstacle running around is bad idea.

Here's how i see a tamable pet:
You can drop tame monster seeds when you killed the monster and then harvest its seeds.
The rarity depends on the level of the monster.
So when you got the tame monster seeds, you need a place to plant them...
And of course you do that in a Animal-Haven Gem Room which randomly drops just like other haven-gems.
So when you place them in your Animal Room they just act like a plant in a garden room
When there is one tame animal in your Animal room you wont need anymore tame seeds
you can just use the normal seeds
the capacity of the animal room can be increased with another animal haven-gem
so i think the 1 haven-gem should have a capacity of 10 animals
and 2 haven-gems a capacity of 20 animals

You can fight these animals, harvest them, but you cannot use them in a fight.
because that would make the Osamodas kinda... useless

What about special pets for every class, like rouge can get a ghost pet so it gets a buff or something, just like the class items. then there is no problem of having a useless pet running around, and will they always be usefull.
