Skill xp still a pain. (Suggestion) Well, I'm currently lvl 50+, I've been using no xp scrolls what so ever yet my main spam skill is still 44.
Skills just can't keep up, Idk if I'm doing smthin' wrong or not.

So this may sound silly, but here's a suggestion: An option to turn off Character combat XP in order to gain 2x Skill XP. Or something like that.

What do you guys think? o.o

Something to boost spell XP would be nice, but this method's too crude and I'm not sure it's needed to begin with, since you grow both in level and spell XP after every fight - I see no reason to block one out in favour of the other. Since there aren't any level-tiered arenas, neither combination of base level and spell levels seem to have a particular advantage or disadvantage at any given time.

Honest question, since I'm a long way from 50: do you suffer somehow from your skills not keeping up, or do you simply dislike their levels being lower than your base?

Suffer? Well, more or less, depends what class and build actually. If you are a potential damage dealer, then yes, you suffer.
I tried playing more build types and these are the best 2 I got:

Pure Earth Iop:
  • Earth hybe build: leveling all skills - inferior damage.
  • Earth 6ap / pure HP Deva build: Char lvl 50 | Deva lvl 46 - massive aoe dmg. (~140 | 3x3 aoe dmg)
  • Earth 8ap / pure Shaker build: Char lvl 50 | Shaker 46 - massive single target dmg. (~100 x 2 single target dmg)
Won't even mention Fire Iops, they just own.

Either spam 1 skill till lvl 100, or play around with other ones. Funfun~

So yea, it bothers me on a potential scale. ^^ (and i don't think it's even possible to keep 1 skill with your base)

Inferior damage to what? That's always relative, and other players are definitely going to have those same problems, so it's not a PvP problem. Monsters becoming harder to fight at a higher level, I see no problem with: they're supposed to do so and encourage playing with a team, so it can be part of the design. And never forget that while your damage can be inferior to that of single-spell builds, having more spells at a moderate level means you have more opportunity to deal your damage, making you more versatile.

I can't speak about other classes, but Sacriers suffer a lot from this problem.

I am only using one fire skill now, because the damage is a lot better than mixing. Mixing skills spread the exp, and the game design punishes you for having two or more mid-level damage skills instead of one high level one.

This completely breaks gameplay.

There should be some level cap in those skills so we would be forced to use the other ones too, an damage would have to be scaled again so we don't become too weak all of a sudden.

Let's say, your maximum skill level must be "(your level) - 5" and if you keep using it after reaching the cap, it will spread evenly between your other skills.
