Social equip maybe?
posté February 09, 2012, 12:40:04 | #1
Social equip maybe? Good day everyone!
It's not essential, but what I really want to is, for example, wear bunny ears, have bonuses from wearing them, but to look like I'm not wearing a hat (standart look), or wearing some other hat (without having bonuses from that "social" hat). The same for other equipment (top, shoes and capes).
That's pretty much it.
Sorry for poor english

Sounds like the Livitinems from Dofus, you equip them over your current gear and then change change the look of the item. Didn't get any bonuses from it though, purely aesthetic.

As long as they're purely aesthetic, I'd also implement a "Show Equipment" or "Hide Fashion" along with this, to prevent people from hiding their gear in PvP.

Except you clearly haven't, since the count is still 0

The separation of appearance from stats is a pretty big boost for customisation, especially in Wakfu where most of your body is actually covered by equipment... it's very difficult to spot the difference between two people wearing the same set, even if they're of completely different classes and colours.

You're right, I forgot.

And once again, you're right, that's why i suggested the "Hide Fashion" button, which thinking of it, would work better if added to the Options bar, so you don't have to click twice on a character just to see what he's wearing.

As for the Class thing, yeah, the models are quite similar to each other, but you can see a Character class at the top left corner of it's name tab when you move the mouse on it, so it's not a big deal.

Personnally i like how characters look without any hats on. Would be nice to have option bar where you can check and uncheck if you want to see equipements or not. IT would work only for you personally as you will see everybody without their equipements, just basic class outfit and the hair style they have chosen. You will always be able to turn it on and off just like you do with graphic settings. This way you cant hide your equipement from those who want to see it but if you dont want to look at it while still having bonuses from it you will be able to do so.

I like the idea,
it's annoying when there's cool equip that give you nice bonus,
but the equip looks ugly...

Fashion sets appear in almost every MMO.
Why not here? I say yes.

That would be more like Perfect World or that kind of MMORPGs where you can customize your clothes making you anything but a warrior... you'd be a more like a medieval clown with a weird armor...
For aesthetics you should wait till the game is settled because there are a LOT of things that are missing and are basic, there are already better and more useful ideas that reached the Devs and they still have to implement them. So asking for something like this without an specific idea would be pointless.

Maybe a wakfu version of the livitinems, like SilentRevenge said, might be something easy to program.

When you are in PVP you are fighting in a battlefield, not in a catwalk like Zoolander. And showing what the players have gives you a hint of what kind of build he uses, so you can expect specific tactics.

ie: You see somebody with Blibli gear... you will prepare yourself to defend against fire and/or agility skills.

see? So, showing fashion-only settings also in pvp would ruin everybody's life. Plus is not something that we need... its a plus... So just wait, sooner or later you'll see something like that.
