I can't see it happening , the game just doesn't have the tools to make role-playing appealing to the average audience unless you are super hardcore. The game world looks nothing like the anime/cartoon show (which is what I assume the artists envisioned it look like) and it lacks any distinct scenery so every area looks exactly the same.
All the emotes require you to do long, tedious and time consuming tasks so collecting them will be a serious challenge (unless you're into that) so I'd assume that most people that would even attempt to start an Rp community would be those who have played the game for an extended period of time.

Meh, I could be wrong.

Long story short: No. Why? Because to roleplay you need to know Lore at pretty good level. And I can't find any source of Lore for Wakfu World. And some things seems to be just unexplainable...

I disagree that there is no scenery and that their is no lore, i do see now that roleplay would not easilly (if at all) could be done.

There's scenery but it's bland and the whole world is as flat as a board bar maybe the Tredchnid forest. There's also a lot of lore...but don't expect to find any of it in the game, I mean seriously go and ask anyone who's played the game and hasn't watched the show what they think is going on in the world and they won't have a freakin' clue.

Well, there's actually quite a lot of lore ingame - a ton more than the show. To get to it though, you really need to pay attention to stuff like dialouge and stuff like those signs you find in incarnam. Playing Dofus helps a lot too.

Sure, there isn't really a definitive place for Wakfu lore, but you can get a good picture just by following the series and games.
