WAKFU MMO: everything revealed for 2012! Want spoilers? Today we tell you everything about the content that will be added to WAKFU along the year 2012!

As you know, for several months, we have endeavoured to make our communication and announces as transparent as possible in order to satisfy you, as you are our community of players.

This is why today we have decided to reveal the list of the new content and features we are working on, which will be added to WAKFU MMO in 2012.

After an update that was entirely focused on bug-fixing, it was important for us to describe once more on the content we are preparing.

We are not intending to specify precise dates; however, we will show you the production progress and give you an overall idea of the directions we are following this year.

Here is a short description of what will appear in WAKFU MMO in 2012.

World Bosses

Given the numerous reactions on the forum, we thought it necessary to make World Bosses more accessible and interesting: thus, a new mechanism will be put in place.

The next World Bosses will be hiding in a lair, which you will enter after finishing a quest. Of course, a lot of other things will be improved, and we will ensure that those encounters are a real challenge for you, in all its aspects.

A more complete Devblog written by Zeorus and describing all the aspects of this new feature will be posted this week.

Mobile arenas

Forget what you know about the Shustuft Crust: our new concept of mobile arenas is coming soon!

In these dungeons located all around the game, you will fight waves of monsters, alone or in a group. Your goal is to survive as long as possible and to reach the top!

Whether you are subscribed or not, you will benefit from this content and unlock exclusive items, which will vary according to your level.

A devblog prepared by Azael and Roupette will be posted in order to introduce you to this new content.

PvP

We want to create a better controlled PvP in order to make it interesting again, especially to solve the problem of continuous aggressions. This is why the system will be revised, specifically by implementing new rules.

For this occasion, we will also add equipment designed for the PvP mode, so that fights between players will become longer and much more tactical!

Politics

Politics are another central feature of the game that will benefit from a set of improvements: new political rules, increased regulation by players, new balancing of earned and lost Citizenship Points, increased interest for citizenship-related bonuses… All these features will be implemented.

We are really endeavouring to put an end to the various forms of political abuses that have happened in game, and to the ensuing frustration of players.

Haven Worlds

We know how important the “housing” issue is for you. You repeated it on several occasions, especially through your requests for Haven Bags for guilds.

We wanted to offer something even better by allowing you to create real worlds, which will be designed for guilds and customizable at will… You will be responsible for constructing and planning these unexplored territories: from the landscape to the buildings, your freedom of action will be complete!

On this occasion, we will also implement a feature that will fill many of you with wonder: the Guild versus Guild system.

Quests

We will improve the current quest mechanism by diversifying it.

This means, for example, that we will integrate a brand new system of environmental quests that will appear according to the events around you.

Furthermore, we will design more quests to guide your progression in the game, as well as quests aimed at world exploration. The purpose is to reduce fight-related quests to a minimum in order to diversify your gaming experience!

Access to information

Balking at going through the Internet to be informed of the latest game novelties? In order to provide easier access to information, new tools will be available:
  • In the forum,a header for important announcements, which has already been implemented since several days,
  • A reorganized devblogthat will recover its former place and readability, while providing the development team with a support to reveal its on-going projects,
  • Text and video inserts on the game’s launch pageto provide you with an overview of the latest content each time you connect,
  • An in-game newspaperwith its dedicated interface, which will inform you about the improvements made at each update.

Krosmaster Arena

A real game « within » the game: this is what you will discover thanks to Krosmaster Arena.

Tournaments, rankings, rewards, exclusive items for the MMO, virtual and physical figurines… Between two dungeons, PvP fans will be able to compete against each other, and even to challenge DOFUS players!

See you in October to know who will become the Krosmoz undisputed champion!

We will post a news about this concept soon.

The Trool Fair

Let’s finish with good news… The fans of the World of Twelve are familiar with it, and it will come in WAKFU as soon as July: the Trool Fair!

This new island will contain fifteen attractions in the form of mini-games. Our goal is to provide you with a gameplay that will be totally different from what can already to be found in the rest of the MMO.

Exclusive rewards will be gained for each attraction!

What about the Foggernauts?

The Foggernaut class is a major objective for the WAKFU teams, which will work for its development during the next months.

We have launched the teasing process in the WAKFU Mag’ #1 magazine; moreover, those who were present at the Ankama Fan Fest in Lyon could test Sire Flexington, a powerful Foggernaut boss which gives a taste of the visual aspect of this class. In the next months, we will continue to reveal the new class, until it appears in the game!

As for Masqueraiders, we don’t forget them; however, we have decided not to unmask them this year.

Conclusion

Of course, the balancing of classes will remain at the heart of our concerns: in the short term, we consider revising Sadidas, Osamodas and Fecas!

The same goes for the correction of bugs, the addition of content for guilds, Mount Zinit, Ogrest's Chaos, as well as a high-level adventure island: the Whispering Island!

You will get more information in the following weeks; and who knows, maybe we have one or two surprises in store for Kwismas?

"We are really endeavouring to put an end to the various forms of political abuses that have happened in game"

Whoa whoa whoa, let's not go overboard, Ankama.

Otherwise, looks great.

Good news!

I just hope they don't turn pvp into something 'essential' like they did to Dofus. Besides that, I am hoping for these updates.

posté June 20, 2012, 18:26:26 | #19
Finaly good news I hope they launch this soon XD
PvP System with a ladder and equipments, GvG, Survivor Dungeons again, new Politics System there is nothing better than this
Crossover between Wakfu and DOFUS will be weird, they are already lv 200 with a lot of great equipments.... And what about the story of both games? How you guys will implement this? Fecas and Foggernauts ( Steamers ) will create a time machine or something? ( because Wakfu happens 1000 years after DOFUS Era ) And what about the Maskeraiders? They are tooking too many time to come, to think in a new class huh?

@Joker

Krozmoz is a card game, it's not real pvp duel as far as I know, hehe.
