[Contest] What a Beach!
You’ve always known that you had the heart of a great landscape artist, but never had the chance to bring forth that talent? Now’s the time to show us what you’re made of! Create a beautiful sandy shore and see your map integrated in-game!
But how does it work? The principle is simple: with an isometric grid (your creation space) and a few pictograms (representing sand, water, different rocks and vegetation, etc.) You will be able to ‘build’ a beach, a bit like playing with construction blocks! To do this, simply use your favourite advanced image editing software, and assemble the pictograms! You can also add elements of your own creation. For those of you who are not familiar with map construction, you can find a mini-tutorial explaining it here, which will show you how to create a basic map, and even a beach in this particular case! Are there constraints?Of course there are, it wouldn’t be much fun otherwise! Rest assured though, there aren’t that many:
And what are the rewards, you wonder? In addition to receiving a unique ‘Landscaper of the year’ title and exclusive forum avatar, the winner will see his creation added in-game! The winner will be chosen by an impartial and incorruptible jury (unless you can send us some really amazing homemade chocolates that give magical abilities! ^^) made up of Poolay, Fhenris, Pixcraft, Zidrune and Kaoly. One more for the road: when does it end?You will have until August 1st at midnight to send us your creations. The jury will then deliberate for approximately 2 weeks before selecting and announcing the winner. The winning entry will be incorporated in an upcoming patch, in the near or far future, when new maps will be added. Download the beach creation kit. Well, now you have everything you need. Best of luck to all of you! We can’t wait to see your awesome creations.

Do we have to use fit it within that pre-made grid/square image, or can we make it longer/wider?

Do we have to use fit it within that pre-made grid/square image, or can we make it longer/wider? Contest Rules: The beach mustn’t be bigger than the grid we’ve provided for you - Note that you do not need to use the entire surface. Please take into account that it will be integrated into a much larger space. |

Do the people who gave us the kit know that all the squares for water and sand don't fit in the grid?
You should see my map now.... where i started the grid looks perfect with the ground but the farther i went the more the grid fall outs of place |
