People seem to have gotten the idea that a respec is going to be some item that you hold in your inventory that you can use at any time to reset your stats on the fly.
Haha, no. Let's look at how Dofus did it!
-In Dofus, you have to first gain access to Otomai Island, which in itself is a quest
-Then you have to help from a few, to every single NPC on the island, level 150's are required to complete the entire island before they can reset.
-You also have to do one dungeon run of each dungeon, to get an item from each one that is consumed when you reset.
-The higher your level, the more work you have to do!
-Oh and this only does stats, you have to run every dungeon again if you want to reset one spell.
Do you really think they're going to do a single item thing in Wakfu when they can make you waste a lot of your subscription doing it in another way? They say that respecs are "not a priority" because it would require them implementing tonnes of content in order for them to do it the way that they want to, just like - oh, Dofus.
That's what I'm expecting out of a reset quest, at least. I'm not expecting it to be a 900-ogrine scroll in the boutique that you can eat whenever you fancy, I'm expecting it to be a task that takes a lot of effort to pull off.
That's why it's not a priority, because it's going to be a lot of goddamn work.
Still, until then, they could at least do monthly global stat resets so if someone messes up they only have to wait til the next month so they can get their points back and fix it.
So there were no Stat / Spell Resets until after level 101-200 content was released?
Even if there was, your point stands. At that type of level, a stat reset quest can exist. But it needs to be a trial. That process feels okay, since it forces a large enough problem to obtain it and can't really be abused that easily. However, at this point of the game? When we've basically just started? Man, you can easily remake your character. In fact, know what's a higher priority?
Item transferring between characters of your account. Mail, what have you. I want this before I get stat and/or skill resets. Otherwise, you'd need to do a long process of moving items from trusted players or whatever to other characters just to give your characters some basic gear or whatever.
Resets can wait. They've never been a necessity, especially not when you can grind yourself past the basic levels rather quickly between regular fighting, scroll-grinding, and Boo/Mosquito/etc grinding.
