Ogrest
The legend of Ogrest
Long ago a legend took hold of these parts. Valleys echoed with fearful whispers. The rivers themselves murmured fantastic tales. From trembling lip to rapt ear, from watchman to peasant, from father to son... they spoke of Ogrest, the giant ogre who was capable of swallowing everything in existence. It was said that his power was so great that it was impossible for ordinary creatures to comprehend. But no one ever saw the beast, much as they sought him. Over time, the stories and secrets turned into fairy tales and scare stories for misbehaving children... Ogrest became a boogie-man. But Ogrest is real. He is very real. The legends that sweep through Amakna are as real as the gorges and boulders the ogre left in his wake when he ravaged the region...
It's difficult to say for sure where he came from. Many agree on the point that the ogre represents nature's rebellion against man's aggressive rule over the world. This enormous, frustrated beast is said by many to have been born when a haunted forest by the coast was flooded by an angry sea in storm. That's a tale that many will remember. But as for the truth. It is perhaps more terrible still. Ogrest was created by Otomai! The famous alchemist was gaining mastery of the magic that began as blind experimentation. His island was overrun with extraordinary creatures, it was as if his imagination had given birth to each living thing in his realm. But his ultimate quest was unfulfilled - to breathe life into his very own beast! He succeeded in the end, almost by accident. Ogrest was born and Ogrest fled. Through many centuries he simply grew and grew in size until he became the titan you see today.
The discovery of the Dofus
Since then, Ogrest discovered the six Dofus. Why would such a beast want to have anything to do with the Dofus? For the love of a woman, of course! Unfortunately for the ogre, the minute he had gathered all the eggs together the woman in question instantly fell in love with them instead... When Ogrest discovered her treachery, he was overcome with fearsome rage! He had obtained the power of the six Dofus, but all for nothing - he had become prey to his own powers. In a fit of uncontrollable anger, he killed his bride to be and he let his anger rain down upon the world.
Ogrest rage was so great that he became a risk even for the gods themselves. The divinities waged an immense war against the ogre and by the time it finished, the Twelve gods were devastated. As for the ogre, sorrow quickly overtook anger. He scaled the highest mountain in the world and simply wept, cried so much that the water level was in danger of drowning the inhabitants of the world.
